Chapter 5: Meet

Chapter 5

IT'S BEEN A WEEK after Eura's encounter with an unknown man. It was difficult for her to remember the mindblowing encounter with him. She can't stop thinking about him, she admits that to herself. She really found that man attractive. It was so difficult for her to forget that night.

She found it hard to enjoy her vacation in El Paraiso—she was bored as hell. She felt like there's no fun here in this place.

Today, she's with Bea—the actress woman she met in the hotel that is now her friend. She seemed like she knew El Paraiso very well. She knew all the places here. They're riding a kalesa to reach their destination. Kalesa island transportation was similar to chariots. They're planning to get near the coast.

Speaking of the coast—she remembered the Villa of the stranger man. It was nearby the coast. But she bet, the man was not in El Paraiso anymore. She's positive about that. He's like the other playboy—when he gets a girl, he'll dump it too.

There's no use of talking about him anymore—that was just a one-night stand. Nothing less, nothing more.

"It seems like you knew El Paraiso very well," she said to Bea.

Bea nodded her head. "Well, I grew up here before my family went to Manila to help audition for the roles. You know... being actress is my dream," she uttered.

"Woah! That's amazing."

"But you know what... the place changed. Maybe the vibes? It doesn't feel like home anymore," she narrated with a melancholic tone. Eura can sense the sadness in her voice. "Before, I was so excited about going home here. But now, I feel like there's no more place for me here."

Eura saw Bea smiled bitterly while looking outside the kalesa, she's looking at the scenery outside. Her face was static and her lips were pursed.

"Remember when I cried in the bar? I was so down that day..."

Eura's left eyebrow raised. "Why?"

"There's a man who loved me with all his heart—yet, I broke it. Now, I wanted to fix every mess that I made. I wanted to patch his heart because I was the one responsible for it. But... it was too late." Bea smiled bitterly as she watched the grasses outside sway with the cold blow of the wind. "I was too late... he doesn't need me anymore."

"How can you say that you're already late?" Eura asked, confused about Bea's word.

Bea looked at Eura with a small smile on her lips. Yet, her eyes spoke for her. There was a glint of despair and sorrow in her eyes. Her eyes were full of regrets and loneliness for someone. "I came back here because of the news that he was arranged marriage to someone. I refused to believe that, but, I saw him, with that woman. That proved that all the news was true." A tear fell from Bea's eyes. She felt her chest tightened in pain. "He saw me that night; drowning in alcohol, crying over him, and sulking. But, he never cares. He stopped caring about me."

Eura can hear the regret and sadness in Bea’s tone. She wanted to lighten up her mood but she doesn’t know how.

“How I wish he cares for me the same way he cared for me before.”

"So, what are you still doing here?" Eura's left eyebrow arched. "You knew that if seeing him is not good for you. You know, if I were in your situation... I will leave El Paraiso the moment it happened."

Bea avoids Eura's eyes. Cause even her... she doesn't know why she's still there. "I-I want to stay here for the last time... because I plan not to come back here anymore."

"I see..."

"I don't want to see anything that reminds me of him. I already learned from what happened..."

"You're doing the right thing for you. Maybe, you're not just for each other. Someday, you'll find someone who'll care for you."

"I hope that will happen."

"Good. Stay positive, alright?" Eura tapped Bea's shoulder. Bea's eyes instantly shifted on her. "Let's enjoy our remaining days here. Then, let's hang out in the city some other time."

"Yeah... I guess that's better."

For a few days, Bea and Eura became good friends. They think that maybe it's because they can relate to each other. They're both women trying to fix their broken hearts. Eura also opened up to Bea before, the woman said that she was amazed by how strong she was in dealing with her husband's death.

She's glad that she met someone who can relate to her. She's like an older sister to Bea-well in fact, she's just a year ahead of her. Eura saw Bea as a strong woman. She received a lot of hate from social media—from the people she doesn't even know.

It's the sad truth about our society today, they'll judge us without even knowing the real story. And Bea, a simple actress who wanted to earn and do her passion was a victim of that.

When they arrived at their destination, they rented a cottage. They changed their outfit, they wear some bikinis. Bea wore a black bikini with X-strapped at the back. While Eura wore a bloody red bikini.

"You know what, I kinda regret that I leave this place. I don't know what will happen to me if I didn't leave this place, but still... I hope I settled in this place. To this kind of peace..." Bea stated while they're walking on the seashore.

"Social media really sucks. What do you expect?" Eura said and sighed heaving. "You know what, forget about your job! Let's just enjoy and swim!"

"Yeah right..."

Bea smiled. "Okay, let's go."

They spend an hour swimming in the clear sea of El Paraiso. The white sand, calming breeze, and the cold water of the sea. It was so refreshing and calming.

Eura can understands how hard is Bea’s situation right now. She was ambitious and it’s not bad. She just want to be better. She just want a better life. But while chasing her dreams, she lost the man that she loves.

El Paraiso was a great place. It screams peace and calmness. Who wouldn’t want to stay in this place? Of course, she knew... Bea wants to stay in her hometown. But her dreams are bigger than staying here.

After their swimming bonding, they went to a small restaurant nearby the coast. They saw a lot of foreigners in the restaurant. When they sat and order food, there were a group of men that keeps looking at them.

After they ordered food, one man went to their table—one man from the group of men who kept on looking at them. Eura raised her eyebrow. She can sense it... the man will flirt at the.

"Hi girls! I want to introduce myself, I am Migz," the man introduces himself.

"Then?" Eura raised her eyebrows.

"Mind if I ask your names and maybe we can... you can join us—?"

"Sorry, Migz. We can't... Eura and I are very busy persons. We have to enjoy our vacation." The man looked disappointed when Bea said that to him.

He went back to his friends. Bea and Eura laughed together. They don't have time for men trying to hit on them. They just want to enjoy their stay on the coast and they don't need boys for that. They can enjoy by themselves.

And, men will just bring more troubles to them. So, it’s better to just stay away from them.

"I will just go to the washroom, Bea."

"Yeah sure..." Bea said.

Eura walked towards the bathroom for women. She's busy fixing her hair when all of a sudden—she cursed. A glass of wine spilled on her red bikini. She was supposed to glare at the person who carelessly spilled a glass of wine on her but... instead of a glare, her eyes widen in shock when he saw a familiar face of a man.

"You..."

She can’t be wrong! Those eyes... those lips. His aura and the way he carried himself. It was him! She can‘t be wrong, his presence is something that was hard to forget.

That was the same brown attractive eyes that bewitched her. The eyes who casted spell to her. His tall body, he is right in front of me and standing six-feet tall, his skin was fair, thick eyebrows, pointed nose, and seductive reddish lips that seem perfectly fit on his chiseled face. Damn it! She’s sure it was him. She can still remember every single details of him.

The man's eyes also widen in shock. His mouth was left open. "You..."

It was the stranger who owned her. They meet again. She's very sure that it's the man she met in the club. Starting from his hair, down to his feet—she can't be wrong!

She can't believe she meets him again!
