Chapter 4: Forget

Chapter 4

THE FIRST thing the greeted Luther with a bad morning was the empty side of his bed. The woman he owned last night, left him alone. He cursed numerous times and gripped his own hair in frustration.

Damn it! He wanted to cursed so bad or throw anything that his had will get. He can’t explain the frustration he’s feeling right now.

It's a very bad morning for him. It felt like there's an unfilled place beside him. He caressed the empty bed beside him then, curse again. He hated himself for not knowing anything about the woman-well of course, she didn't want to give him details about her. Her beautiful face, enchanting erotic moans, and the curve of her body were already engraved on his mind. He doesn't have any idea about her.

Whether she came from here in El Paraiso or not. But he knew that if she came from El Paraiso, he just saw her before. He guesses, she's a vacationer.

It never happened to Luther before, he had never been this frustrated. If it's with other women, he'll be please that they already left him and know their place in his life. He can't understand why, he's annoyed this time.

What the fuck is happening to me?

He went out of his bed and fix himself in the bathroom. He sighed deeply as the cold water from the shower touched his body. Out of nowhere, he remembered what happened to him and the woman under this shower.

“Fuck it!” he lightly punched the wall beside him. “What are you doing to me?”

After his long bath, he went to his brother's mansion in El Paraiso, near their ranch. Yes, he is part of a powerful clan here in Nervaez—the Saldieguez. There's no doubt that his family, the Saldieguezes, is one of the richest families and one of the most influential in the province of Nervaez, especially El Paraiso. But not only that, but they're also well-known outside the province—to the whole country, perhaps. Their big farm and ranch are some of the main tourist attractions of El Paraiso, and his brother's mansion was near the ranch.

He drove his red Ferrari F355 to his older brother's mansion. They had a huge difference in personality that gave color to their brotherhood. His brother is a very calm and rational person—well except in love. That man was a million times more responsible than him. He chose a peaceful life, a life here in a rural place. For some reason, his brother despises the life in the city, which is very opposite from him and to his other older brother, Louvre. His cousins also enjoy the city life—only Lander don’t.

He always travels outside Nervaez. He doesn't know why but that's the life he enjoys. The partying, clubbing, racing, and playing with girls. He admits that he's really a spoiled brat, maybe because he's the youngest.

Sometimes he hoped that he can be like his brother, Lander. Even though they view things differently, he really admires his older brother. He's very lucky to have an older brother whom he can trust and willing to listen to him-someone who's patient with him.

“Welcome, young master,” Aling Nora greeted him.

He nodded and gave her a small smile. “Thanks, Aling Nora.” He was outside the mansion he looked around and saw how it became more beautiful than the last time. The flowers bloomed, and the palm trees were swaying with the wind. “By the way, where is big brother?” he asked.

“He's in the garden, eating his breakfast.”

“Oh, I see... thanks for the information.”

He instantly went to the garden to see his big brother. After a few steps, he saw him. He's wearing a blue v-neck shirt. On his right hand was a cup of tea and then his other hand was busy flipping the pages of something he's reading.

“Kuya Lander . . .”

The term kuya is a Filipino word that means big brother, it's also a way of showing respect for a man older than a person.

When Lander heard Luther's voice, he instantly turned his head. He welcomed his little brother with a wide smile, showing off his white teeth. He closed the book he's reading to give his full attention to his brother. “I am surprised that you're here. I expect you to leave El Paraiso without bidding goodbye to me.”

“What? Stop being dramatic, kuya!” Luther laughed, teasing his older brother.

“Nah! I am not being dramatic. That's the usual you.” He laughed and motioned his hands. “Take a seat and join me.”

“Yeah, thanks...”

“Hays! Louvre and you are just the same.” Lander sighed heavily while shaking his head.

Luther sat on the empty cozy chair in front of his brother. Lander called some maid to serve his brother food. Luther was silently eating when his brother suddenly cleared his throat, catching his attention. He stopped and looked at him while his eyebrows furrowed.

“What?”

Lander crossed his arms and gave a flat look to his brother. “So... tell me. What are you doing here? It's a miracle that you've spent almost a day here.”

Luther's face crumpled like paper. “What are you saying?”

“Where have you been last night, huh?” Lander smirked.

Luther was taken aback by his brother's question. Then the image of the woman with whom he spent his night popped up inside his head. He doesn't get why he's still thinking of her-well in fact, he never really care for the woman he bedded. He only cares for his own satisfaction, to himself.

“What's with the silence, huh?” Lander laughed softly and gave his brother a teasing stare. He raised his left eyebrow. “So...?”

“Don't mind me.” Luther frowned and sipped from the cup of coffee

“I bet you get laid last night?”

Luther almost choked from the coffee. He coughs badly while his brother made him a laughing stock. “What the hell is that question?” he blurted.

“Why? As if you're a virgin. I bet you never got vacant. You're sexually active. I will not be surprised if you hit with some random woman last night. I know you, Luther.” Lander shrugged and laughed at his brother's reaction. He knew that his assumption was right when his brother was caught off-guard. His brother was always chill and calm. But now, it looked like he was bothered by his question. “So, am I right?”

Luther gave him a smug look. “Well... you know me.”

“I knew it!” Lander shook his head. “That's why you disappeared like a bubble last night.”

“Uhm... yeah?”

“So, how was it? Usually, when you play with your girls you always head out as fast as flash.”

Luther reminisced the last night they shared by the stranger woman. He still can feel her touch in his skin, it felt like it was printed on it. He was never been like this to women he had an encounter. He doesn't know what is so special about that girl. Well, she's too gorgeous in his eyes—she's surreal.

“Well, I met this woman...”

Lander unconsciously smiled when he heard his brother started telling him what's really the matter. “And...?”

“And she's pretty.”

“All women are pretty in their own way, Luther.” Lander sipped his tea.

Luther glared at his brother. “Of course, I know that.” He sighed deeply and lean against the chair. “But, it's just that... I can't forget about her. I have been doing this with girls before but I never been this into to a girl.”

“Maybe you're just satisfied with her. I don't know either.” Lander lightly scratches his left cheek using his left hand pointing finger, then awkwardly laughs. “I can't give you a proper reason, 'cause even I... I don't experience that.”

“Even to 'that' girl...”

Lander's face went from laughing to scowling. “Luther!” his brother called his name with a warning. “Let's not talk about her, alright?”

“She was there at the party last night?" Luther left eyebrow raised. "Have you seen her?”

“Yeah...”

“Oh, how are you?” he asked his brother.

“I already moved on, Luther. Let her move on too. Our story was already over, there's no more to write. We're done, that's the end.” Lander bitterly laughed. “And I bet, she's happier in the arms of her new man.”

Luther knew his brother very well, deep inside he knew it was still bitter—the move on the thing was a lie. His brother was so loyal to a woman who never made him a priority. His brother gave everything to that woman—he witnessed that. While that woman gave him only a bare minimum. It was sad that the woman didn't reciprocate his brother's feelings towards her. Yet, he's happy that his brother is trying to move on—because he knew that deep inside his brother's heart... he is still not over it.

He sighed deeply. It wasn't his story to tell. He doesn't want to meddle with his brother's love interest.

“Well, what can I say? I guess, good for you?” Luther uttered.

“Yeah...” He looked at Luther and asked, “What's your plan?”

“I'll stay here in El Paraiso for a while. I'll stay here in your mansion. I can't stay in my villa; it makes me sick,” Luther said and frowned. It definitely made him felt sick. He'll just remember that woman. Hell! They had sex in every part of it. “I guess, I will have a vacation here.”

“How's your hotel? Who will manage it?”

“Mario will take care of it, and I will not stay here for so long. Central Nervaez is just an hour away from El Paraiso.”

Mario is his secretary for almost seven years. He trusted him to everything because he already proved and showed his loyalty to him. Central Nervaez is the capital of the city where his hotel was located. His hotel was named Nirvana Hotel—taken from his mother's name. He inherited it from his father and he expanded the business. It was successful and he is so proud of himself.

“Alright, so enjoy your vacation here.«

“Yeah. Thanks.”

After breakfast, his brother showed him his temporary room. He thanked his brother for his attention and care for him. Indeed, the best big brother he ever had.

Staying in El Paraiso, made him spend time with his older brother. They talked about a lot of things—mostly about the ranch. Luther didn't even notice that he's already staying in El Paraiso for a week. Yet, he still failed to find the woman.

He still hopes that he will see her again.

He doesn't know why but deep inside, he wanted to see her or owned her again. But he let the star tell him their fate and let it crossed their path again-if there's really a connection between them. If not, he'll leave, and maybe...

Forget about her.

Yeah, I should forget her.
