Chapter 14

Johnathan pov

I dove for cover as Lisa fired and Duke tackled her to the ground. Her head hit with a sickening thud and the gun slid across the floor. Laura stood still staring ahead no recognition in her eyes as we moved up to her. How she was still alive filled me with shock and hurt. I felt her die. I felt the bond break.

"cuff her and lets go back now ",I moved up and touched Laura but felt no sparks. I got her to walk with me and we left. Getting back I lead Laura to the hospital while Duke took Lisa to the cells. I can't fucking take this shit. Doc gasps seeing Laura and he checks her over before leading her to a room. He helped her in bed and sedated her.

"how is Kat?",I ask looking at Laura as he hooked up an intravenous line and started fluids. She closed her eyes and fell asleep.

"still sleeping but I'm telling you this may break her",he points at Laura. I know it will and I don't know how to tell Kat at all. I head to my mate's room and stand at the door watching her sleep
