Chapter 10: Jack's Jazz...Wrong Reason; Right One

The drums are calling, the drums are beating, the drums echoing the warning…Jack was restless and tense in his sleep. He tried opening his eyes but everything stayed dark around him.

He can taste the fear in his mouth on his tongue. He tried fighting the invisible hands holding him down.

“Jack don’t look,” said the voice somewhere in the darkness.

“Who are you?” he tried asking but it felt like his lips are barely moving. It felt like his body was drenched in sweat.

Again, he tried waking up but it seemed like he stayed trapped in the nightmare. He doesn’t know the hour of the night nor the reason but at last he managed to wake up. His first sleepy impression was the bright moonlight through the open curtains.

Something caught and draw his attention, his gaze fixed on the door that stood slightly ajar. This puzzles him.

“Jack,” called the voice.

He starts to follow the voice. Once he reached his door, he carefully pushed it opened. The hall looked shadowy. Uncertain about what to do.
