5. Quinn

Quinn got home that night and could hardly concentrate.

'What really happened out there? what am I doing? what is happening to me?' he kept on ranting about these questions as he paced through his room feeling so uncomfortable

He has only fallen in love once with his ex girlfriend and things didn't really go down well.

She left him broken into pieces and ever since then, he hasn't felt any thing for any one until Karen came into the picture.

'I need to clear my head' he muttered to himself .

Quinn walked into the shower feeling so light - headed and dizzy .

He couldn't take his mind off what happened few hours again.

She was so soft and he felt different about that, he felt he has met his soulmate but remembering Evelyn, diverted his thoughts .

Quinn and Evelyn dated for three years

She was his first love and the only lady he has ever dated.

Evelyn was a blonde lady with an American accent. She possessed everything any man could ask for

Evelyn and Quinn actually had a very happy love story but things took a new turn when she met West, her husband now

You know one Irony of life? she actually met him in the same gym she met Quinn. Thinking about it right now, made Quinn laugh .

'Why am I still thinking about her? it's over a year now. what's actually happening to me?' He kept on asking himself but he couldn't take his mind off the past.

When he started suspecting Evelyn and West 's movement, he asked her about it and she bluntly denied 'His just a friend' , that was exactly her reply.

'Just a friend? now her Husband, damn!' Quinn said out loud .

He hasn't forgotten how hard it was for him to get over her , he hasn't still forgotten the tears that rolled down his cheek when she stood in front of him handing her wedding invitation card over to him saying 'Quinn, this is my wedding card, my wedding is coming up in the two next week'. He collected the card with shaky hands as he tried to fight back his tears but it was too much to hold back. Evelyn looked at him unremorseful 'I found my life Quinn, you should be happy for me' she kept on ranting, saying different things but Quinn couldn't hear a thing until she waved her hands right at his face . 'Hello, I really hope you will come for it, I am sorry Quinn' she stood on her heels as she planted a kiss on his cheek. Evelyn left him standing there not even turning her back once.

Quinn lost interest in everything ,he almost lost his job during that period and later ended up in the hospital. Things were really tough for him.

He picked up the wedding card the night he got back from the hospital and stared at it , he eyes were so dark and his head felt heavy again.

Going through the card was something he should have never done "Evelyn Weds West" he read the words on the card aloud. The wedding was in the next two days and he decided he would go for it .

On the day of the wedding, he got dressed and stood in front of the mirror, asking himself if he could really do this, he bent down and picked up the card then left the house.

'....Does any one have any reason why Evelyn and West shouldn't get married?' The pastor asked .

Quinn sat there , looking at the pastor with a blank expression and then the next thing he heard from the pastor was 'We pronounce Evelyn and West, husband and wife ' that was when Quinn knew it was over for him . He left the venue with the aim of taking his life but when he got home, he had a change of mind. It was then, he swore to himself never to fall in love again with anyone and here, Karen just came into his life out of the blues. Ever since Evelyn left, he has met different ladies throwing passes at him but he never for once asked them out on a date but he asked Karen . 'Why did I ask her? why did I kiss her so passionately?' He asked himself again. Quinn has kissed other ladies in the past and had sex with them but with Karen, he wanted to be sure she wanted it , he wanted to take things slowly.

'I am not sure if this is love but why did it feel so different when I kissed her?' he kept questioning his mind, seeking for answers as he laid down on his bed wishing for sleep .
