Jake drove the car himself as they sped away from the hospital.

Grace clutched her seat belt. "Where are we going?"

"To pay our respects to the families of the deceased." Jake stepped on the gas pedal without looking at her.

He drove out of the city and into the remote suburbs before finally stopping. Unfastening his seat belt, he said, "Let's go."

He took out some gifts from the trunk and walked toward a house. Even from a distance, the sound of crying and wailing could be heard distinctly.

The sounds of grief were heartbreaking. Grace couldn't bear it, and she didn't dare to go in.
