Tracey's POV
Six years later, I bid goodbye to Julie and my students at the boarding gate."We will miss you, Miss Stewart!" They waved their hands at me with tears in their eyes.Tears also ran down my cheeks.Saying goodbye had never been an easy thing for me, except for the time that I ran away from my husband. And five years flew past just like that."Mommy, don't cry!" A pair of tiny hands, warm and soft, wiped the tears off my cheeks.I lowered my head and saw the little boy sitting on my lap.He had got dark hair just like his dad (little traitor!) and a pair of green eyes just like me.My little Nathanial looked just like a floating angel."Hey, sweetie," I said as I snuffled his hair. "Mommy isn't crying. And you smell so good.""Mommy, why do we have to go back to the States? Can't we stay with Aunt Julie and your students?" Nathan asked."Grandpa has passed away," I said with bitterness. "Mommy has to go back and take care of the aftermaths."Even though he was only five, he could already understand a lot of things. But death wasn't one of them."Mommy, where did grandpa go?" he asked.I held him tightly in my arms and replied, "He's gone to heaven."I didn't know what happened to my father. My uncle called me last week without telling me anything other than "he died in a car accident", which made it very suspicious.I had to go back to figure it out and take control of my father's company before all my relatives devoured it without spitting out the bones. After the airplane landed in Dayton City, I walked out of the airport.Everyone was looking at me. A mysterious lady dressed up in a black sari, immersing in black and sadness from head to toe.As I got into the taxi, I didn't pay much attention to the changes in my hometown, nor did I bother myself with my unfortunate marriage or a very unhappy ex-husband.The only thing on my mind was my father's mysterious death. But at that time, the taxi suddenly stopped as if it had hit a bump or something.I instinctively grabbed Nathan in my arms and protected him with my body."What happened?" I asked the taxi driver. He hummed and hemmed, walking out of the taxi.I saw a limo right in front of our taxi.A collision with a limo right after I got off the plane? Seriously? At that time, I saw a familiar figure walking out of the limo.Fuck. Jessica Waddingham?! My ex-husband's high school sweetheart?! The woman that I had stolen Lucas from?!That Jessica Waddingham?!"Oh, mine!" She flapped her hands anxiously around her face and said in a slimy voice. "This weather is killing m... Mother of God, I can't believe it! Are you... Tracey?! Tracey Stewart?!"I stayed in the car without raising my head. By doing so, I wished she could just magically vanish by herself. But she didn't.Instead, she approached our taxi and knocked on the window."Hey! Tracey! I know it's you! Stop hiding and come ou... Oh my God! Is that... Is that a human child in your arms?!" Jessica exclaimed in a dramatic voice and placed a hand over her chest like she was about to have a heart attack."Stay in the taxi. Don't go out." I said to Nathan and walked out of the taxi.Jessica sized me up and said with undisguised disgust on her face, "Oh my God! It's really you! Tracey Stewart! Luke has been looking for you for six years! He was really worried about you at that time! Where have you been? Why are you dressing like a hun nun? Have you joined a cult or something?"I rolled my eyes so hard that I could see the back of my head.Jessica was terminally ill nine years ago and had to go to Europe to receive treatment. It was at that time I forced Lucas to marry me.I said, "Lucas and I divorced six years ago. Now I have nothing to do with him. He's all yours."At that time, a familiar deep voice appeared behind me."Really? It's that easy for you to forget everything about your marriage and move on with your life, isn't it, Miss Stewart?"Like being hit by a bolt of lightning, I was petrified.No. This can't be it. I'm not ready for this yet.Not with Nathan still sitting in the car.Not now!"What? You feel so guilty for having abandoned your husband six years ago that you don't even dare to look at him in his eyes?" He continued in his signature detached, husky voice.I sighed and turned back reluctantly.Six years have passed. What will Lucas be like? Will he look old and ugly? Probably with salt and pepper hair, a haggard face, a crooked back, and a mouth of bad teeth? But what was I thinking? It was six years, not sixty years that had passed. That mother fuker dickhead didn't change a bit!He was standing right behind me, a bit too close, towering over me like a giant oak tree. And he was staring at me!I couldn't tell what was in his eyes. Was it love? Was it hatred? Passion or jealousy? I really couldn't figure it out."Six years ago, you ran away from me. I've been looking for you all these years around the world...""You've done a really sloppy job, I have to say," I said while looking away, avoiding eye contact with him."Where is he?" He moved a step forward and asked in a pressing voice."What do you mean?" I frowned."My son. Where is he?" Lucas asked."How can you make me pregnant if you haven't ever touched me?" I asked in a provoking voice. He grabbed my shoulders and forced me to look at him."Don't lie to me, woman! That night! I remember what happened that night!" He said with flames of fire in his eyes. "You were pregnant with my child when you ran away! Now I want my son back!""Luke..." Jessica pulled Lucas and whispered. "Stay calm. Tracey has been away for six years. Even though she had a son, we just couldn't know whether it was yours. So just let go of Tracey and...""Shut up!" Lucas yelled at Jessica. "Don't ask me to stay calm! I've been staying calm for the past six years!"Then, he pushed me against the limo and shouted, "Do you know what I have been through in the past six years?! Do you understand what kind of humiliation and torture I've been through?! It's all because of you! Now I want my son back!"Tracey's POVAt that time, I heard Nathan's voice, "Stay away from my mommy! You big chunk of douchebag!"I looked down and saw my son kicking Lucas' legs and punching his thighs with his little fists."You..." Lucas looked down and picked Nathan up with his giant hands. Then, he lifted him up to his eye level and stared at him.Nathan kicked his legs and waved his arms angrily in the air, trying to hit Lucas, but all his efforts were in vain.Lucas didn't do anything. He just stood there, holding my son like a cub, staring at him.Well, even though I didn't want to admit it, the truth was, that Nathan looked just like a miniature version of Lucas. And of course, Lucas could see it.But I just didn't want to give it to him that easily.I snatched Nathan away from Lucas and held him tightly in my arms."What... What is his name?" Lucas looked overwhelmed and mumbled."His name is Nathan and he isn't your son," I replied while stroking Nathan's hair.Lucas couldn't take his eyes off Nat
Tracey's POVI took a glance at the report. Probability of paternity: 0.0000% !Lucas had a hard time processing this fact. He grabbed the person in charge and barked at his face, "No! There must be something wrong with the test!" Then he pointed at Nathan and roared, "Look at him! He looks just like me! He must be my son!"The person in charge stepped back and said, "Sir, we are a very reputable agency. We are fully responsible for the result of the test." "But that boy is my son!" Lucas growled.I said, "Leave that poor gentleman alone before he calls for the police. You're paranoid and hysterical right now, Lucas. Take the report and go away." Lucas turned back and pressed me against the wall. "You! It must be you! You're the one who's behind everything!" He stared at me with anger. We were so close that it reminded me of what happened on that night before I left.I could tell that he was thinking of the same thing."You're a nymph. What have you done to the test? What have y
Tracey's POVJerry Fisher. This fucking name rings a bell, but I just can't remember who he is.But when I walked into the VVIP lounge in the trendiest nightclub in town, I immediately recognized the bold, short, sturdy man sitting on the sofa, surrounded by two almost half-naked women.Jerry Fisher was one of my craziest suitors before I got married to my husband. He was literally stalking me everywhere I went. It was kind of creepy. No wonder his name sounded familiar."Tracey Stewart! Oh, mine! It's really you!" Jerry exclaimed while pushing away the two women. "When Jacob told me you were back, I couldn't believe it! I mean, look at you! Nine years have passed, but you haven't changed a bit! What have you been drinking? Fountain of youth?"I was about to say something, but he turned to the two girls and continued, "You girls are too young to know anything about the magical Tracey Stewart. She was just like you two. Cheerleader, homecoming queen, social influencer. But one day, she
Tracey's POV"Yeah, of course, I've got a boyfriend. I'm not a fucking nun! And you know what? He's the father of my son Nathan! And if you don't stop treating me like this right now, I'll fucking sue you and get a restraining order on you!"Lucas looked lost and frustrated. There were flames in his eyes.I hadn't seen him being mad like this. Not even for once.As I was trying to break away from him, he pulled me back."How dare you say something like this in front of me? Are you trying to insult me? Let your imaginary boyfriend sue me. I don't care. Nathan is my son and I don't give a fuck what the paternity test says. Do not ever say something like that to me again, woman. Do not try to cross me! Do you understand?!" Lucas held my shoulders and shook me passionately.I said, "Stop being obsessed with me! I'm not your property, and Nathan is my son, not yours. The sooner you figure this out, the better off for both of us."Lucas wasn't at all listening. He was consumed by his anger
Tracey's POV"Seriously?" Jessica raised her eyebrows, gloating while walking into the lounge. " Both Mr. Fisher and I know who you are. Being the only daughter of a multi-billionaire, Miss Stewart must be kidding with us."Jerry Fisher smirked and said, "I have to agree with Miss Waddingham. Your father's net worth was 4 billion before he passed away. Don't tell me that he hadn't left you with anything. You have to pay for this bottle of cognac, Miss Stewart."Aren't these two complement each other? I thought to myself. They would certainly be the most repugnant couple in the world.Noticing my awkward silence, Jessica placed a hand over her forehead and said, "If you go apologize to Mr. Fisher and please him, he might forget about this incident. After all, Mr. Fisher is a very generous man."Lucas walked inside and saw the mess on the ground. He remained silent.Jerry Fisher was drunk. He didn't even seem to notice Lucas. He grabbed my arm and pulled me against him. Then, he pinched
Lucas' POVI had never seen Tracey walking like that when she got out.She has always walked in a very lady-like way, but on that day, she was almost staggering. Is she drunk? No way. I used to see her drinking with her bride's maids on our wedding night. Everyone ended up being drunk, but somehow she was the only one who remained sober. That woman is a walking miracle.I didn't know what had happened to me, but being stuck in this suffocating VVIP lounge, I felt particularly missing her.I missed her slim figure. Who could ever believe that she had pushed a baby out of such a tiny body?I missed her beautiful green eyes. They were always full of witty sparkles and only occasionally filled with anger or tears because of me.She was angry because of me. She cried for me. For me and only me.I used to own that woman. She was completely mine. What kind of idiot am I to let such a perfect woman run away from me? I really wished I could hold her in my arms and rip off her clothes, and...W
Tracey's POVLaura?! Did he fucking just mistake me with his high school sweetheart?!How could he...?!I pushed him away and jumped off the bed, crossing my arms while looking at him with hatred in my eyes. After all these years, he still couldn't forget about Laura!I had to grab my own wrists, so I wouldn't smash his head with a lamp or something.I went to the bathroom and took a cold shower to calm me down. But as soon as I went back to the bedroom and saw Lucas' face, my skin felt boiling again.Damn, he looked so good when he lay on the bed half-consciously like this. What a body. What a flawless face. What a huge chunk of..."Laura..." He murmured, stretching out his arm toward me.Seriously?! Again?! Just when I was about to forgive you because you look so enticing?!I picked up the lamp.He suddenly wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into his arms."I miss you so much... I shouldn't have let go of you. Please don't go away. Please stay with me. Please, Tracey..."
Tracey's POV"Well, about that," I approached Jessica and lowered my voice, "You'll never know."Then, I glanced at the paparazzi and said, "Make sure you take the pictures and post them online. The clock is ticking and subpoenas are pending."After that, I walked out of the room like a champ.-The next morning, I was having breakfast with Nathan when the doorbell rang.I opened the door and saw a tall, strong man standing outside.I saw it was Darren, the PI I hired to investigate my father's mysterious death. He used to be a senior in my college and we've stayed in touch for years."Tracey, I've been calling you all night..." Darren looked concerned."Darren!" Nathan jumped up and threw himself at him.Darren picked him up with one hand and carried him on his shoulder."Well, you've put on some weight, little cub. What has mommy been feeding you?" He smiled at my son."Lots of love!" Nathan giggled, clung to Darren like a little sloth, and refused to come down."I'm glad that you c
