"I could be." -I am.- He murmured back. God! She was so beautiful blinking up at him all flustered and confused.

"No! I mean. I'm sorry. I have to go." She was panicking. Fuck! Not a chance. He was here to stay. By her side. He had been following her all morning. Guarding. Snarling at men and women mesmerized by her beauty. And when he noticed her struggling with her numerous shopping bags, he gave up watching from the distance. He saw an opportunity and took it.

It was one of the best decisions he had ever made. His beloved felt so good in his arms. More than good. He had spent the whole night holding her and watching her sleep.

She wiggled, reminding him of her flight mode, she was trying to move away. "Wait. Please." Stopping, she looked at him warily.

Xavier reluctantly removed his arm at the same time reached for her bags. "I can carry them."
