His Second Chance Mate

Chapter 1

“I think we should tell her,” my boyfriend's lusty grunt reached my ears, provoking my movements to pause, almost stumbling, and rapidly lifted my palm against the wall to stop me from flying down.

What?

Tell who what?

What is going on in her room?

I had just awakened, still half asleep, and was making my way towards the kitchen for some breakfast when I crossed my half-sister's chamber.

“She won't understand our love,” Dakota wept. “Faster, Evan,” she wailed tenderly, pleasure clogging her tone.

“Damn baby, you feel so perfect around me,” Evan growled, and Dakota's intense cry was like nails on a chalkboard to my ears.

Oh my god, how could he do this to me?

I stood in front of my half-sister's bedroom door, heart threatening to beat out my chest, belly swirling, as I listened to the heartbreaking conversation going on inside that room.

Evan and I have been in a relationship for four years. I'm twenty years old now, and Evan and I have been dating since I was sixteen years old. He was my first boyfriend, my first love. I thought he was my mate, but if he was inside that room, doing that with Dakota, he couldn't be.

True mates don't cheat.

“Oh Evan, yes, right there baby, I'm close,” my sister murmured. “You know how to handle that long shaft of yours, handsome.”

“Fuck, Dakota, you make me crazy. I can't keep my hands off you. My wolf craves you,” Evan barked, and I heard the bed frame beating hard against her chamber wall.

“You need to break up with her, Evan,” Dakota instructed him.

“I can't baby. If I do, I won't become an Alpha. Becoming the Alpha of our pack means everything to me. I have been improving every day since I met Willow. I deserve this,” Evan groaned. “Turn around. I want to see that round perky ass in the air, baby,” He ordered.

“You don't need to keep faking to love her, Evan. Daddy will listen to me. It will please him that I found my mate. He will still make you the Alpha when he retires.”

“You are my mate Evan. I can feel it,” her throaty shriek echoed around the hall.

“Willow is so sweet. I don't wish to upset her,” Evan replied quietly, almost sounding apologetic about the situation.

Feel sad all you want, you good-for-nothing cheater, "I shouted inside my head.

“Willow can't make you feel the way that I do, baby,” Dakota informed him gently. “Can she do this?”

“Fuck no, she can't. Only you can clutch my shaft that hard, beautiful,” Evan sighed. “That hungry cunt is mine.”

“End it with her, Evan. Stop this senseless charade. It's not making anybody else happy, except for Willow.”

My wolf howled sadly inside my head.

“Why is he doing this to us?” She urged me, sounding broken.

“I don't know, it's okay,” I assured her tenderly, not wanting her to become upset too. I can only handle one of us being upset at one time.

It's not okay.

At all.

But I need her to remain relaxed right now. I don't need her shouting and exploding inside my skull in a frenzy while I need to deal with this disturbed situation.

That's enough.

I lifted my palm and immediately shoved open the door rough enough to make it to thump against her chamber wall.

My breath hitched, my lung froze, and my wolf howled sadly as my eyes widened at the scene in front of me.

Evan had Dakota bent over the bed, her ass in the air as he pounded behind her. They both turned around, shocked, when they heard the door bang against the wall.

“Willow?” Evan asked bewildered, his eyes large.

“How could you do this to me, Evan?” I hissed, heart leaping a pulse as I peered at my boyfriend having sex with my sister.

“Willow,” Evan gasped. “Baby, it's not what it looks like,” he continued, slid his rod out of Dakota, and turned to face me, his shaft slowly softening.

“Not what it looks like, huh?” I snorted and struggled to hide the hurt.

“Cheater,” my wolf snarled inside my head.

My wolf crawled into a ball and whined, my heartbreaking for her.

“Willow, I'm sorry. It was just one time. It meant nothing-” Evan hurried and worked to explain.

He slowly crossed the room, hands held up in surrender.

“Just one time?” I asked, knowing better. I heard that entire conversation, and nothing about what was spoken in ecstasy sounded like just a one-time mistake.

I'm innocent, but not that gullible.

“Yes it didn't mean anything, I promise,” Evan whispered, reached up, and grabbed my chin, looking like he wanted to kiss me, but I jerked my head out of his grasp and took several steps back.

“You're lying,” I snarled, heart pounding hard, skin growing hot as my wolf demanded to be let out so she could claw his face off.

“He ever fucked you like that, Willow?” My sister smirked, climbed off the bed, her naked sweaty body in full view, and she didn't even bother to put on her clothes.

“Whore,” my wolf cried.

I agree with you, I muttered to my wolf.

“Dakota,” Evan snarled. “Now isn't the time for that.”

“Oh baby, it's the perfect time. She caught us. Now she can know the truth,” my sister hummed happily, walked over and wrapped her arm around Evan's hips. “He loves me.”

“I heard how much he loves you. Thanks, Dakota,” I growled, fingers inching as my shift was pushing through my body. If I wasn't careful, I'll shift in this room and rip them both apart.

“Just admit it, Evan. You want me and not Willow,” Dakota purred, smiled, and kissed Evan's shoulder before smirking towards me, making sure I knew she won, yet again.

My sister has won everything since the day she darkened our doorstep along with her evil, hateful mother. You see, she is my half sister's because my dad had an affair on my mom with Brita. Dakota is younger than I am. My father slept around with her mom behind my mother's back.

My stepmother Brita knew my father was mated to my mother and still decided to sleep with a married man. A part of me couldn't forgive him for what he put my mother through.

He lied to us both for years. He was living two lives. One here with us and the other in two towns over with them. My father claimed he was going around visiting other packs under the orders of the Lycan king, but what he really was doing was spending time with his other family.

My mother ended up being forced to leave the pack, not by my dad, the Alpha, but because her wolf was going mad. She couldn't handle seeing my dad with Brita after be rejected their mating. I couldn't blame her. I just wish she would have taken me with her.

"Willow, please let's just talk about this," Evan pleaded and jerked me from my thoughts.

"Nothing to talk about, Evan. You are just like my dad," I taunted, pulled my lips up in disgust, and shook my head. "Put some clothes on."

I don't have anything to talk with about. What's done is done and if he thinks I can forgive this, he is wrong, dead wrong. I'll never be able to trust him again.

"Don't be mad that the better woman won," Dakota said and grinned. "We both know I'm better than you. Even Daddy understands so," she replied charmingly, but her comments were like toxin churning around in blood.

I think my half-sister does things just to prove she is better than me. In pack school, even though most of the time I made better grades than her, she was quick to brag about her higher grade the few times I had gotten a lower one.

"You are just like your mother," I hissed viciously.

I can see it now. Dakota is going to grow up and become exactly like Brita. An evil vile woman who sleeps with married men.

Brita was pathetic. She uses my dad being with my mom against him. When she doesn't get her way, she will bring up the fact that he hid her away for years.

"And you are just like yours. Can't keep her man satisfied he has to run into another bed to find it," she growled.

"Don't talk about my mom. Your mother is the one that slept with a married man," I barked, took a step threatening step towards her. We were now nose to nose, and I was contemplating about allowing my wolf to come out.

"Your mother couldn't keep Daddy happy," she shrugged.

"Alright enough," Evan growled, walked between us, raised his hands, and gently nudged us apart. "Willow, we need to talk about this."

We have nothing to talk about.

Absolutely nothing.

We are over.

"We have nothing to talk about anymore, Evan. I don't wish to be with a man like my dad. You want Dakota, you can have her. I will gladly step aside because you don't deserve me as your mate," I shrieked, lifted my palms, and forced him away from me.

I was foolish enough to think I had found my mate. I should have realized that it would wind up like this after what happened to my mom.

"He was only with you because he wanted to be the Alpha," my sister sang and brushed Evan's cheek. "But he doesn't need you for that. Daddy will listen to me."

Hmm.

"Well, I'd be careful, Dakota. If he was manipulating me, he may be working you as well-" I started to tell her, rage setting my blood on fire, but my words were cut short by someone knocking against the opened door.

I swung my angry gaze to the person daring to intrude on our conversation, but instantly, my wolf calmed down when I saw Leslie, our maid, standing in the doorway.

"Is everything okay, Willow?" She asked concerned, a small frown forming on her elderly face when she noticed Evan and Dakota barely dressed.

"Everything is fine, Leslie. Do you need something?" I asked her gently, not wanting to take my anger and my hurt out on the one woman that has always cared about me even after my mom left the pack.

Honestly, if it wasn't for her, I would have left home a long time ago. She was always here when I needed her. A willing listening ear when I needed to rant about my family and a shoulder to cry on when I missed my mom.

"I'm sorry to interrupt misses, but the Alpha summoned me to let you both know that you are both needed at the pack house immediately. The beta to the Blackmoon back has just arrived."

Blackmoon pack?

Isn't that the pack of the Lycan king?

My father has never summoned us to pack meetings that involve other packs, especially the Blackmoon pack.

Something is wrong.
