Chapter 2

Aleya's Pov

"Dad? Are you kidding me? You're going to give me another bodyguard again? And you're tired of the male bodyguards that's why hired now a woman as my bodyguard? Aren't you afraid that my new bodyguard will fall in love with me instead of protecting me?"

"Don't worry, my son. I'm sure that this girl is different from those women who can't refuse your charm."

I was just about to enter the gate of the Villareal's big house when I heard Enrique's loud voice while talking to his father. It was obvious that he was opposed to the idea that he would have a new bodyguard and that bodyguard is a woman. How will he react if he sees that his new bodyguard is the woman who owns the car that his girlfriend bumped into yesterday and almost cuts his pleasure? I'm sure that he would only object even more. He could do nothing but follow his father.  Senator Villareal assured me that no matter what I do to his son, he will not fire me and he said it would be better if I could convince his son to change his playboy image and become a responsible man. But I doubt that I could it. I can't convince his womanizer and good-for-nothing son to change his life for the better

The door to the living room was open so I heard Enrique's loud voice. I still knocked on the door even though it was open. The father and son looked at me at the same time with different expressions on their faces when they saw me. Senator Villareal's face was smiling while Enrique's forehead frowned and he couldn't hide the surprise on his face.

"You're finally here, Aleya. Get inside so you can meet my eldest son," Senator Villareal invited me with a smile while I couldn't describe Enrique's expression because it suddenly becomes blank.

"What is that girl doing in our house, Dad?  Do you know that our race was almost cut off because of her?" Enrique asked his father. His expression is now annoyed.

"I'm your new bodyguard, Mr. Villareal," I answered him with a serious face. "And correction, your race will not be cut off even if you don't have children because you have another brother," I added quickly, which made Enrique's annoyance increased.

"It's good that you and my son already know each other, Aleya. I don't need to introduce you to each other," the senator smiled at me and ignored what his son said as if he didn't hear anything. Enrique was even more annoyed that his father seemed to ignore what he said.

"Didn't you hear me, Dad? This woman hurts me yesterday," Enrique said to his father raising his voice.

"I heard you, Enrique. I know that Aleya wouldn't have done what she did to you if you hadn't hurt her. And don't raise your voice on me. I warn you," Senator Villareal defended me instead of siding with his son. Enrique's eyes widened at what he heard. He couldn't believe that his own father favored a stranger like me more than his son. I'm sure that his annoyance with me is beyond the ceiling of their house.

"I'm sorry if I hurt you yesterday, Mr. Villareal," I apologized to him. After all, he's still the son of my employer. We're together every day and it's not a good thing if we're always looking at each other as if we want to struggle with each other's necks. "But if you behave yourself and you won't act like you did yesterday, I promise that we'll get along," I added to what I said. I want to tell him that he shouldn't repeat what he did if he doesn't want me to completely cut off his happiness.

"Did you hear that, Dad? He already admitted that he hurt me yesterday. That's why I don't want her to be my bodyguard," Enrique said with a smile to his father. He thinks that his father will fire me from my job because of my confession.

"Be a man, Enrique. A woman apologized to you first and you're still acting like a spoiled kid who doesn't want to accept an apology," he preached to his son while shaking his head.

"What? I'm the one you scolded, Dad? This is crazy! Who is your son between the two of us?"  Enrique asked his father raising his voice again.

"Stop it, Enrique! Can you stop being childish? You need a bodyguard because someone is making an attempt on your life and I want Aleya to be your bodyguard. Period!" Senator Villareal answered his son in a high-pitched voice. He seems like he almost run out of patience for his stubborn son.

"Okay. I need a bodyguard. But do you think she can defend me, Dad? Look at her. She's small and looks fragile. Maybe she will run before me once we encounter the people whose trying to kill me. She's a woman, after all,"  Enrique said, and then gave me a disbelieving look.

Godfather is right. He does look down on me because I'm a woman and will think that I cannot defend him when I face those who are trying to kill him.  It's up to him whatever he wants to think. I won't defend myself because it would be better if I won't be his bodyguard. I don't even want to work as a bodyguard for this brat.

"Stop now, Enrique. Please. Because no matter what you do and what you said, I will not change my mind. Aleya will be your bodyguard. The conversation is over," his father said finally, then called one of their maids and ask her to accompany him to my future room in this house. After instructing the maid, he walked up the stairs shaking his head, and ignored his son's objection.

"You thought you won against me? Well, you're wrong. Because I'll do everything to make my dad fire you from being my bodyguard," Enrique's face was dark as he spoke to me after his father turned his back on us.

"Suit yourself, Mr.  Villarreal.  Because I'll be happier if your father fires me as your bodyguard," I answered him before I turned my back on him and follow their maid. But I only took a few steps when I suddenly remembered something to say to him so I stopped and turned to him. I just know that his eyes following me while walking away. "One more thing, Mr.  Villarreal. I just want you to know that I don't like being your bodyguard. If you don't want me as your bodyguard, I don't want to be your bodyguard either. I don't want to waste my time watching over an easy-go-lucky and good for nothing like you," I added before turning my back on him. I know my words rea harsh but he needs to hear them add some sense to his brain.

"Aleya, come back here! Repeat what you said and you will see what will I do to you! Aleya!"  Enrique shouted furiously but I ignored him. It would be better if he could find a way for his father to fire me from being his bodyguard. Because I feel like my age tripled by just talking to him. What else if I spend more time being his bodyguard?  Maybe I look eighty years old by that time because of him.
