Exempted

We returned to Rajiv's condo. Wenna didn't come because she still had class. Even though I wanted to go back to my own condo unit, I let Rajiv take me to his place.

I turned on the TV while he was busy cooking what we would eat this afternoon. I just hope he cooks what I'm craving now, which is adobo.

I almost jumped in shock when my cell phone suddenly rang. Opening it up, I saw a familiar name ringing for a phone call.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before answering the call. I put my phone to my ear.

[Hassan, baby? Where are you?] he said.

"Sister..." I said weakly. My tears flowed as I listened to his angelic voice. I've missed her already.

[Hassan, I've heard what happened. You don't reply to my texts. Where are you? Dad told me you weren't in your condo. Are you with Wenna? Are you okay, baby?]

"O-Yes..." I said, lying. I covered my mouth as I sobbed.
