SABRINA’s POV
I could only watch in horror as my art supplies were reduced to ash in the fireplace. The flickering flames hungrily consumed my art supplies, one by one, leaving behind nothing but ashes and twisted metal. My precious paints, portraits, sketchbooks, and the box of pastels my father had given me were all turning to charred remnants.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I felt an anguish deep in my chest, like a part of me was being incinerated along with those cherished materials.
My scream pierced the air as my tears began to trickle down my face, mingling with the smoke that now filled the room.
I heard footsteps coming down the stairs, and then my stepmother entered the room.
Her stern voice jolted me from my sad thoughts, "What on earth is going on in here, Sabrina? Your screeching is going to bring the whole house down."
I turned to face her, my vision blurred with tears, and cried, "Why did you do this? Why did you burn my art supplies?"
She looked at me with indifference, the same look she always wore when she regarded me. Her appearance was far from comforting; her eyes were cold and distant, and her gaunt face was framed by long, black hair mixed with a bit of grey. Her lips were set in a perpetual frown, like she resented my existence.
"Why?" I repeated, my voice quivering.
"You burnt my food yesterday, Sabrina," she said, her voice icy. "You almost burnt my whole kitchen down because of your constant drawing and painting nonsense. You should be grateful I'm burning your art supplies and not you."
"But, Wendy,I got a little carried away with painting yesterday and it was an accident. You knew how much these art supplies meant to me. My father gave them to me. It's all I have left of him," I pleaded.
“It's all gone now, just like your father. You'll never be an artist, just like you'll never see him again."
That was really low, even for her. I always knew she never married my dad because she loved him,but because she was simply hungry for money. And when he went bankrupt, she didn’t hesitate to show her true colors. I would have thought she killed him if I didn’t know who my dad’s actual killer was.
She turned and walked away, her disheveled, threadbare dress swaying as she moved. It was as though she wanted to leave me to stew in my misery. She had always been like that – indifferent, selfish, and cruel.
What was I even going to do at this point? I approached my stepmother, who was now rummaging through some food items in the kitchen. "Why would you do this? What did I ever do to you?" I asked, my voice trembling with anger and despair.
She turned to face me, and her beady eyes bore into mine. "You're delusional if you think your little artistic pursuits will ever amount to anything, Sabrina. You need to focus on having a new life now."
I was bewildered. "A new life? What do you mean?"
With a smirk that conveyed her malevolent intent, she explained, "Your father owed a lot of money, Sabrina. He couldn't pay his debts, and now you have to pay for his mistakes.”
I had never seen such a sinister smile on my stepmother's face. Wendy was not one to show remorse. She remained seated at the kitchen table, a wicked glint in her eyes as she casually stirred her coffee.
Her phone pinged suddenly, interrupting our tense confrontation. She retrieved it from her pocket and read the message with a sly grin.
Without a word, she ordered me to start packing my things, in her cold voice.
My heart sank at her demand, my mind spinning with questions I was too afraid to ask. "Why? Where am I going?" I pleaded, hoping to gain some clarity. But Wendy just shook her head dismissively.
"Don't ask too many questions, Sabrina," she taunted, "You're old enough to take care of yourself now, aren't you? I mean, you are twenty three already. So get the hell out of my face and start packing your things while you still have the time.”
My father was dead for only a few days and now she was already kicking me out to God knows where?
“Wendy please, you know I have got no one, where am I supposed to go?”
“You would find out soon enough,” she rose to her feet, closing the space between us and continued,”Oh and I would be needing this,”
With a sudden movement, she snatched my necklace from my neck, the heirloom that had been passed down through generations in my family. It was the last piece of my family that I had left, and she knew it. I watched in horror as she dangled it before me,a wicked satisfactory smile on her face.
“You know, maybe if I take this useless stuff to the pawn shop, it can fetch me some real money. If it is worth anything,at least that would be some compensation, am I right?”
I held my bare neck, suddenly feeling very empty. "Please, give it back," I sobbed. "It's all I have left of my family."
She ignored my pleas, tossing the necklace into her bag with an almost cruel glee, and then moving towards my room.
I followed her closely behind asking her a ton of questions which she gave no answers to.
She proceeded to rummage through my room, tossing some of my belongings into a small suitcase. I felt shocked and really couldn’t believe my eyes, unable to process what was happening. "Stop, Wendy, please," I begged, my voice shaky. "This isn't right. I have nowhere to go."
Wendy had no intention of heeding my cries. She grabbed my arm, pulling me off the floor and pushing me towards the door. "Enough, Sabrina," she snapped. "Your presence here is no longer needed. It's time for you to leave,do not waste my time young lady!”
As I was forcibly dragged out of my room, my world seemed to spin out of control. I was shoved to the floor with a brutal force, the cold tiles pressing against my cheek.
Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, the door swung open with a sudden, dramatic force. My tear-filled eyes darted towards the entrance, and my heart pounded with dread.
There, standing in the doorway, was Luciano King, the infamous mafia lord and billionaire, with two imposing men dressed entirely in black.
His deep voice reverberated in the room as he said,”I’m here for my property,Sabrina.”
That was him,the same man who had killed my father.
Luciano’s POVI sat behind my polished mahogany desk, my fingers tapping restlessly against the wood and my face twisted in anger. Before me, held down by two of my burly men, was a man, his eyes filled with fear. The man on the floor, trembling with anxiety, pleaded for mercy. "Mr. King, I swear, I'll pay you back, just give me a little more time. I've had some bad luck recently, but I'm close to turning things around. Please, have some patience."My icy gaze bore into the man, "Patience?" I thundered,"I've had enough patience. I gave you ample time to clear your debt, and you've done nothing but disappoint me."The man's voice quivered as he begged, "I promise,I'll get you the money within a week, just give me one more chance."I leaned forward, my dark eyes filled with an unsettling intensity. "You don't have a week," I mysed. "I'll give you three days. Three days to clear your debt, or you won't live to see another day. I would fucking blow your brains out and make sure I get eve
SABRINA’s POVMy body was numb right now with the way he was touching me. I wasn’t even aware what my purpose was. He mentioned I was his slave and now I was going to be a nanny to his son too?I didn’t know he was going to kill my dad weeks later after I had saved his son.I couldn’t believe I had come face to face with my father’s killer. The anger I felt came rushing back but I had to keep it under control.Even though I hated to admit, he looked very intimidating and quite handsome in a ridiculous way. His height towering over me, that perfect tanned skin, perfect glossy curly dark hair, body that looked sculpted by the gods and those deep green eyes I could totally drown in. I wiped my sweaty palm on my black dress that I was suddenly feeling naked in with the way he looked at me.I sat there, trying not to fidget, as he scrutinized my body, making me feel incredibly self-conscious.He broke the silence, his eyes locked onto mine, finally removing his hands from my inner thighs."Y
Luciano’S POVI heard some muffled screams suddenly and quickly came out of the shadows to figure out what was going on.There,I saw Sabrina who was being held by one of my men.I strode forward, a little pissed, and demanded, "What the hell is going on here?"The man holding Sabrina who looked just as bewildered as I felt, stammered, "I caught her snooping around, boss."I shot a glare at Sabrina who had tears welling in her eyes. "Is this true?" I growled at her. Before she could explain herself, I cut her short, my temper flaring. "Enough! Don’t you say a word” I ordered, my tone leaving no room for argument. Two of my men immediately began cleaning up the mess of the traitor I just killed on the floor, erasing any trace of the struggle.Lorenzo dragged a shaken Sabrina along as we made way to my study. Once we were inside, I told Lorenzo to wait outside, and I circled around Sabrina , who was trembling with fear.I pulled her by the arm, closing the space between us, our bodies inc
SABRINA’s POVI gently brushed Noah's hair as he sat on a stool in front of me. He had just finished gobbling down the pancakes he insisted I made for him.But our peaceful moment was suddenly interrupted by the arrival of an unexpected guest. The door to the room swung open, and two of the maids standing by the entrance immediately bowed and greeted the lady who entered. I watched her with curiosity, wondering who she was.She looked regal, her posture oozing with confidence. Her eyes scanned the room, and then she asked with an air of authority, "Where is Luciano?"One of the maids, Pacita, responded, "He's out for business, Madame."The lady seemed unimpressed. She turned to Pacita and ordered, "Get me some cold pineapple juice immediately."Pacita started to move towards the door to fetch the juice, but the lady’s sharp gaze fell on me. "You, stand up," she commanded.I stood up, wondering who this woman was and why she was being so bossy and rude. She told Pacita to halt and stay
The awkwardness in my room after Luciano left made me wonder why he was still here. Didn’t they say he was only here for a short time and only here for the meeting?I thought he left….I looked at him as he looked around my room and stood in front of the cabinet, where I had just placed f⁸our picture frames, two of me and my family, one of me with my brother and the last one of myself at my medical school graduation. He picked up my graduation photo and stared at it before looking back at me.“Can I have this?” His words surprised me.My eyebrows stood up curiously “What for?” I asked suspiciously.“If I ever miss you so I can look at you” He replied which made me almost choke on my own saliva. What did he say?!“Don’t joke” I snorted rudely and tried to take my picture from his hand, but failed because he raised his hand higher.D*mn, I didn’t even reach his shoulder!!!What did he eat to have such a huge body?! I thought irritably. “You’re still angry”It was not a question but a st
Werewolves are different from humans, in addition to having a stronger and hotter body, they also heal faster so for a werewolf to complain of illness is something shameful, unless giving birth because it is a matter of pride and does require the help of a healer. The birthing process for each werewolf is different, depending on the strength of the wolf in the baby, the stronger the parents, the baby will also be strong so that it can hurt and even kill the mother, so if not processed properly, bad things can happen, that’s why the role of the healer is very important for the sake of the mother and child. The 5 years of medical education I studied were all human, so here I still need to re-read medicine for werewolves, so that no one gets hurt because of me.“Thank you for inviting me to see this birth process Dr. Malik” I said as I walked out of the room with the senior doctor whoopened his hand to let me help in the clinic. He smiled kindly “It’s us who are happy to receive a femal
Hmp..“I need to go to the bathroom” I said hurriedly getting up without looking at him again. That’s enough… that’s enough!“Your left side door” He replied flatly and I felt his gaze fixed on me as I walked towards the bathroom.Blam!!Sighed…….What is this? What is he playing?Does he know what he’s doing to me right now isn’t making me happy, but more painful! Why now?Why is he acting like that now?Sniffs…I didn’t realise my tears were running down my cheeks and hurriedly wiped them away.****Behind the door in the hotel room, the Alpha king could hear Sabrina’s s*bs in the bathroom.****Sabrina peeked in to check if the king was still in the room and breathed a sigh of relief when she realised there was no one in the room.Just as she was sitting on the bed someone knocked on the door.Knock knock…12:46The Alpha King’s Fated Mate“Who?”“Room service”+5 vouchersI opened the door and saw the food trolley coming in, surprised to see Alexa and El at my door as the man push
Meanwhile in another place not far from Sabrina’s father’s territory.Hidden in the depths of the forest, with the help of a witch so as not to be smelled or detected by other werewolves, a group of Rouge gathered inside to discuss the Alpha king and hismate.“They flew the moment his mate drink the poison, I think this time the story is true”One of the spies assigned to visit Alpha Blake’s territory, who is Sabrina’s father, informs the Rouge leader, Jack Gilderoy, who is a descendant of the Alpha king’s uncle who once betrayed the king.Jack always felt that the throne should be his, as his father was the twin of the Alpha king’s father. With the help of dark magic from a witch, who turned out to be his mate, he also has a long life like the King, but no one knows this, not even the Alpha king knows the dark secret of the Rogue leader.“Morena…” Jack called out to his mate and looked at the woman who nodded her head.“I’ll check on that woman” said the woman named Morena before re
