Chapter 3

Entering her room she collapsed on the bed, all the tears she had been holding in all this while finally letting them loose.

Crying her heart out was the only thing she could do. She loved and cherished her job at the school.

She had considered it her haven, but now it's gone.

"Why am I even crying? It's for the best that they are out of my life," Amanda thought out loud wiping away her tears.

First things first, picking up her laptop she searched through the available apartment, she could no longer stay in the same house with this cheater.

Setting the laptop aside after seeing a nice place, she went to her closet and packed up her things.

Dragging her box downstairs, she met an already-dressed Juliet, in the sitting room watching the TV leisurely; Ignoring her, Amanda dragged her box to the door.

"Please stay away from Kevin, we love each other, I don't need a bitch seducing him for me," Juliet warned shamelessly.

Moving closer to her, Amanda gave her a resounding slap on the face twice before picking up her box and leaving.

While Juliet could only stare in shock, she walked out of the apartment.

Looking around the new apartment, she couldn't help smiling even though she was feeling exhausted.

The furniture and everything had been arranged, and everywhere was clean.

Going into her small kitchen, there was nothing to eat after she rummaged around, and she was feeling hungry.

"I need to go grocery shopping," she thought out loud. Going to her little bedroom she got changed, and taking her bag; she went out.

"Auntie Amanda!" A voice shouted.

Turning around Amanda was met with a little Nina, "My Little Nina" Amanda greeted, bending down to hug little Nina.

"How are you doing dear? I heard you are not working in Zion school again, "Mrs. Robinson said, making eye contact with Amanda.

"Oh, I'm good,

" Yes, they couldn't renew my contract" Amanda explained.

"What? Why? What happened?" Mrs. Robinson asked, stunned, Amanda is an amazing teacher which is well-known among many parents.

"Due to some relapses in the school budget, my contract could not be renewed," Amanda explained.

" So you're here for groceries?" Mrs. Robinson asked.

"Yeah, I just moved into my new apartment, so I decided to do some grocery shopping."

"Ok, that's nice, I'm also here for that."

They both shopped for what they wanted all the while having little chats.

"That's sad to hear, dear. So what do you have in mind now?"

"Nothing yet, I'm still thinking."

"If you wouldn't mind, I would like to recommend a tutoring job for you?"

"Tutoring job? If I may ask for who?" Amanda inquired intrigued by the idea.

"My boss is currently looking for a tutor and caregiver for his son who is currently on probation," explained Mrs. Robinson.

"If you are on for it, you can send me your resume, but it's okay if you don't want to," she continued.

"I'm okay with it, I'm currently cut out for anything right now, and it would be awesome if I could still tutor," Amanda said, offering the woman a beautiful smile.

She was already wondering where to start a new job hunt and to top it up schools were already in the middle of the term.

So anything is okay right now.

"Just give me your email address and I will send it to you when I get home."

"Okay, I will channel it to my boss, and he will get back to you."

"Thanks, ma, I appreciate it," Amanda said gratefully.

"You welcome dear, but only my boss can make the final decision."

Amanda hugged Nina last time as she said goodbye.

Walking outside the store, she checked her wristwatch and saw it was just 2 pm. Trying not to be alone yet, she quickly walked to her apartment, dropped her shopping bags, changed into a simple floral dress, and walked out of the apartment.

Walking down the street, she saw a coffee shop and decided to give it a try.

She pushed the door open and walked to the counter, ordering a cup of cappuccino coffee. She glanced round the shop and saw a vacant seat and she quickly occupied it while sipping her coffee slowly.

***

Somewhere in the coffee shop is Eric Adam, chatting with his best friend and assistant, Marcus Benjamin.

" Eric, I need you to take it calmly with James, he's still young," Marcus said, sipping his coffee.

" Are you saying a twelve-year-old boy is young?" Eric question.

" What am saying is, his young, he tends to do things people of age are doing,

" Just give him time, or maybe you should get him a tutor and someone to mentor to guide him and let him understand things," Marcus explained with furrowed Brow.

" Yes, I am working on that, I will get someone soon," Eric explained.

"Then that's a good idea and am sure it will_," Marcus said before he was distracted by a little girl, crying and rolling on the floor with all eyes on her

" Bridget let's go, don't be stubborn!" The mother of the little girl shouted, trying to get her up.

" Woman, can you take her out, she's disturbing the environment." One of the people in the shop shouted.

" Can't you see I'm trying to calm her down?" The woman answered, trying her best to hold her tears.

Amanda stood up from her seat and walked toward the little girl, bending down to talk to her.

" Hello, baby girl, what do you want," Amanda said, making puppy eyes at the girl.

" I want a star, I want to touch it," The little girl said, sobbing even harder.

"A star! How many do you want?" Amanda asked, looking at the little girl.

" I want just one, a big one" The little girl answered, standing up, and making eye contact with Amanda.

" Come, let me get you a star," Amanda said, standing up, she stretched out her hand to pick up the little girl.

The little girl quickly runs to her embrace, she picks her up and takes her to her seat.

All eyes were on them, people were eager to see how she was going to provide her with a big star.

She quickly opened her bag and brought a small colored card, a pen, and scissors. She started drawing a picture of a star, giving it a nice shape.

The little girl's eyes were on the drawing smiling at Amanda.

" What's your favorite color? Amanda asked, smiling at the girl.

"Pink!" The little girl quickly answered.

Amanda quickly checked her bag and brought out a pink color, she colored it, and cut it out with scissors. She hands it over to the girl with a full smile all over her face.

" Yes, I got my big star!" the little girl started jumping on her feet and shouting at the same time.

People at the shop started clapping, including Marcus and Eric.

"Wow, how was she able to convince her so easily, she must be a teacher_," Marcus said, smiling.

"And she's beautiful too." Eric interrupted, looking in Amanda's direction with a full smile on his face.

" Did you just compliment her? Marcus asked, looking at his friend who was smiling after a long

day.

"Yes, I did, she's beautiful, she has natural beauty, and she's intelligent," Eric said, smiling.

The two stood up and walked out of the coffee shop. Eric quickly looked back and Marcus caught him glaring at the lady again.

" Why don't you get her number if you love her so much?" Marcus said as they walked toward the car.

" Love? You know I don't do love, not anymore," Eric said with gritted teeth.

" Are you planning to remain a single dad forever? " Marcus said, as he opened the car door, he quietly took his seat at the front waiting for Eric to enter.

" I'm not single Marcus, I have a girlfriend," Eric explained.

" You mean your sex mate? " Marcus said, as he started the car.
