Chapter 169

James woke up to the sound of footsteps approaching his room. He knew it was the doctor who had been sent by his mother to inject him with sedatives again.

James heard his mother talking to the doctor about the dosage and how she planned to take him along with her to another country just to get bad at his father.

James continued to pretend as if he was asleep, hoping the doctor would think he was fast asleep and leave him alone so he could plan his escape.

As the doctor entered the room, James kept his eyes closed and listened to his every move. The doctor came closer and stood beside his bed, but James did not move a muscle. After a few seconds, he heard the doctor's footsteps moving away from him. James opened his eyes just in time to see the doctor exit his room, closing the door behind him and he moved, knowing that his plan worked out.
