Chapter Forty-One

Finally, it was almost the start of a new year and a lot of stuff was about to happen because this was our final year of high school. I was excited to finish this chapter and go on to the next one in my life.

It was old years night and Mrs Clarke, Tristan's mum, formally known as Ms Simmons, was having a new years party at her place. Not everyone knew about her marriage so tonight she was going to let everyone know.

Tristan and I were at her house helping pick out decor. She hired a decorator and caterer but she still felt like she needed our input. She walked around the house rubbing her hands together nervously. Since Clarke stepped out to buy extra ice I tried comforting her and telling her everything would be fine, but that did not help in the slightest.

"Tristan, did you see how nervous your mum is right now? If she keeps biting her nails she will end up with none. Go talk to her because she is not taking my comfort." I told Tristan.
