CHAPTER TWENTY SIX

After Giovanni came, we spent another hour at the restaurant before making our way to the club, Rovina. It happens to be one of the most expensive and famous clubs in the vicinity.

And as much as I wanted to end our gathering at the restaurant and just call it a night, they all refused, urging both Giovanni and me to follow them to a club and maybe spend an hour or two. So we had no choice but to give in to their demands.

The night carried on with a lot of drinks and laughter flowing around in the VIP section of the club. Everybody seems to be having a good time, while I was trying to keep myself from grabbing onto Claire’s hair and dragging her across the floor of the club.

Through the cause of Giovanni’s arrival, she had been not so subtly trying to throw herself at him—not that he gave her any form of attention, but he did nothing to stop her attempt, which irked me.

My attention shifted to Vicky when she got up with a couple of friends, pulling me up from my seat as well, before d
