AT THE COLLEGE

Yan was shown in the classroom with her seat mate, Jasper, who was also her assistant.

“ Heights industry is a misery. Can you believe, I drew the story according to the draft they gave me but after listening to party A, who didn’t support their work, they started putting the blame on me” Yan groaned taking a bit from the egg she was holding.

“ And to make matters worse, Mr. Chen is going to deduct 20% of my salary. Am definitely doomed for life” Yan added, throwing her hands up dramatically and Jasper just nodded.

“ They’re heartless aren’t they?” Yan asked.

“Of course they are” Jasper replied.

“ And about that party A, what was that his name again, erm.. yeah.. Mr Liu, he’s too arrogant. On meeting him the first time, I felt like strangling him with my bare hands” Yan said with every anger displayed on her face

“ Calm down Master Yan. Here have some red date tea. Red date tea is said to help you feel more relaxed when you’re annoyed” Jasper said.

Yan reluctantly collected the cup of tea from him and took a little sip of it.

“ Oh my, it’s delicious. My mood has changed instantly. In short, I feel extremely relaxed now” Yan exclaimed sarcastically.

A teacher entered the class.

“ The teacher is here” Jasper said and cleared the whole table.

  LIU’S INDUSTRY

“This as part of the will left by your father 4 years ago. Mr. Zhichoa left 15% of LIU’S shares” A man, presumed to be Steven’s lawyer said handing him a document.

“Just transfer the shares to me immediately” Steven said, his eyes still glued on what he was doing.

“ Other than that , he left a letter for you. In the letter, he hoped that you will take good care of his friends daughter, Yan Yunqi, who has the full right to the 15% share” His lawyer replied and Steven stopped what he was doing.

Looking up, he frowned his eyebrows.

“ Yan Yunqi?” He asked as the name sounded familiar to him.

“ Do I know her?” He asked.

Ethan quickly brought out his phone and showed him the picture of Yan Yunqi.

Steven’s face squeezed up immediately.

“ You again” He cursed under his breath.

“ Are you saying that in order for me to get the shares, I have to marry Yan” Steven asked.

“Yes” His lawyer replied.

“Ethan, get me all the information about Yan” Steven said and Ethan nodded before leaving.

“ It’s done, you may leave” Steven said, his face expressionless as usual but deep down, he’s cursing hid father.

He never intended on getting married, it wasn’t his thing but now everything is going to change.

Mr Liu, are you seriously going to marry Yan?” Ethan asked as he drove Steven home.

“ Yes. That share is of great importance to me plus, it was my father’s wish, so it has to be fulfilled” Steven replied.

“ But how are you going to do it?” Ethan asked.

“ I don’t have time for dating, can’t I propose immediately?” Steven asked.

“ It’s not done that way Mr Liu” Ethan replied.

“What information have you gotten about Yan?” Steven asked.

“ Based on my investigation, Yan Yunqi’s mother had a lot of debts after taking over her husband’s restaurant business and frequently Yan is threatened and harassed by the creditors. This will be your perfect opportunity to make a grand entrance in the form of saving her” Ethan explained.

“ Take me to the restaurant” Steven said and Ethan nodded.

  MEANWHILE AT THE RESTAURANT

The door of the restaurant flung open, revealing 3 men.

“ Sorry Mister but we’re closed for the day” Yan said as she mopped the floor.

She looked up when she noticed that the person was now standing before her.

Her eyes widened on seeing who it was.

The men circled her, firing glares at her.

She stepped back slowly, swallowing nothing.

One of the men grabbed her hand but she kicked him hard on his d**k and ran off.

The men went after her.

Unfortunately, the heavens were angry and it started pouring down heavily.

Yan ran as fast as she could, not minding or knowing where she was heading to.

She pushed down some garbage bin to obstruct the men who were pursuing her as she ran as fast as she could.

While still running, she twisted her ankle and fell.

The men who were pursuing her were already grinning hard as the approached slowly.

Then suddenly, a car halted before them with full force, baptizing them with water.

The door of the car opened and someone stepped out with an umbrella, a man.

Who was he?

No other than Steven.

He approached and helped Yan stand.

Yan was staring at him with parted lips but she couldn’t see his face clearly due to everywhere was dark.

“Hey, he’s just a rescuer , attack” One of the men said.

Steven handed the umbrella he was holding to Yan and faced the men.

Within the blinking of an eye, he already knocked all of em’ down.

Yan watched in amazement.

“ Is this a dream or what?” She thought.

“ I never imagined that the scene of ‘ unknown rich guy saving the poor pretty girl’ will happen to me” She thought.

“ Oh God, my heart beat is becoming fast” She thought as she held her chest.

Steven grabbed her wrist and helped her enter the car.

They both were already drying their hair with some towel and Yan was trying as much as possible to see who her rescuer is.

Steven caught her staring and she looked away immediately.

Yan hugged herself, rubbing her palms together as the cold air hit her skin plus her cloth was soaked.

Ethan through the front window signaled Steven.

Steven gave him a ‘what’ look making Ethan roll his eyes.

He brought out his phone and texted him.

Steven tapped on the message on his phone which reads..

“Try to act like a gentleman, can’t you see she’s cold”

“ What do you want me to do?” He texted back.

“Your coat” Ethan texted.

Steven stared at his coat wondering what it has to do with the situation until the idea hit his brain.

“ Oh” His inner mind exclaimed.

He groaned silently and start removing the coat .

Yan saw what he was doing and her eyes widened.

 “What are you trying to do?” She asked, her fear rising.

“ Listen I might be poor but I won’t prostitute myself” She said

Steven removed his coat and was about covering Yan with it but she sent him a hard punch on the belly making Steven groan in pain.

“ Don’t come close, am warning you” Yan warned.

“ Fool. I was only trying to keep you warm” Steven groaned angrily.

Yan looked away, embarrassed.

Ethan drove to a place where there were streetlights, making it possible for Yan to see who here saviour is.

On seeing it was Steven, her eyeballs almost popped out.

“ You!!” She exclaimed loudly, making Ethan halt the car immediately and Steven flinch back a bit.

Ethan held his chest, to prevent his heart from falling out.

“ Excuse me Miss, next time you shouldn’t scream like that, my heart almost ran out of my chest” Ethan said and started the car.

“ Sorry. Am just shocked to see Me Liu” Yan said, making Steven hiss.

“ Where are you here, Mr. Liu ?” Yan asked.

“ I was looking for you” , Steven replied, his face as cold as ever.

“ Why were you looking for me? What do you want?” Yan asked.

“Marry me” Steven replied immediately.

Yan’s eyes widened and she scoffed, rolling her eyes.

“ Is this guy serious or what? What does he take me for, a slave?” She thought sending daggers at him.

“ I know I accept any type of job but I won’t just marry whomever I come across. Am not stupid” Yan snapped.

“ You have only 2 choice, first, marry me” Steven said.

“ And the second?” Yan asked.

“ Marry me” Steven replied making Yan scoff.

“ And what’s the difference in the two choices?” Yan asked.

“The difference is that there are no difference” Steven replied.

“ Seriously? Do I look stupid to you?” Yan asked.

“Listen, if you marry me, I promise to take good care of you and you won’t have to face danger again” Steven said with a serious face.

“ My problems, not yours” Yan hissed.

“ If you marry me, I pay off all the loans your mom owe and you’ll totally free. Would you like to miss such an opportunity?” Steven asked.

“How did you know? You were stalking me, right,huh?” Yan asked pointing accusation finger at Steven.

“ How dare you?” Yan asked in rage.

“ Hey, stop this car” She said to Ethan who didn’t hid to her command.

“ I said stop this damn car!” She said.

“ Help, help, he’s a kidnapper, he’s trying to kidnap me!!” Yan yelled out from the window.

Steven quickly covered her mouth with his palm.

“ What type of a lunatic is this?” He muttered.

Yan use her elbow to hit him in the stomach and Steven quickly let go, groaning in pain as he held his stomach.

Ethan halted the car immediately.

Yan opened the door and stepped out, banging it with force.

“ Get lost you jerk” She snapped and stormed out, not minding the rain.

“ How can my dad tell me to marry this physco” Steven groaned and Ethan covered his mouth trying not to laugh..............
