CHAPTER 4

LUNA

As soon as they saw me, Lindsay immediately greeted me with a hug.

I felt the concern of my two friends.

“Didn’t they hurt you?” said Lindsay who immediately check my whole body even my face. I smiled when I saw Lindsay’s concern. I shook my head here which eased their feelings.

“Why are you not answering our calls? And you didn’t even reply to our texts? We were so worried about you,” Urica said with sadness in her eyes as she adjusted her glasses.

“From now on Edith’s group will not touch you anymore,” I put my arms around Lindsay and smiled. “Especially Lindsay, they won’t hurt you anymore,”

“W…why? What did you do to confirm that they won’t hurt me again?” Lindsay asked me, hardly believing what I said.

“Just trust me,” I pulled them together to enter our room because at that time our next subject was about to start.

I breathed a sigh of relief because no one would hurt my friends, that’s because Edith and I had a conversation that if that mongoose accepted the paper bag, her friends would be safe. But what worries me now is how will her situation be with Edith’s groups? Is i am also safe from them?

I was surprised when Lindsay suddenly hugged me causing my thoughts to be interrupted.

“Come on, let’s go to the sports gym by the court. Because Lucas was there, physical education of their section and there were many spectators there. It’s true that our other classmates and the other sections have already gone.” Lindsay looked at me while Urica was behind her waiting for my answer. “Okay, please…”

“I don’t know why you are so dead in that Lucas? What does that man have to confuse you? He’s not an actor,” I said angrily to them because I really don’t want to see that man anymore. I was disgusted by the attitude and how it looked at me.

“What are you, Luna? Are you blind? You see how handsome he is, muscular, tall, smart, has a strong appeal as if he was an actor and above all—”

“Rich!” Urica stopped me with a strong connection. “Alright, I’ll go with you,” I said that I had no choice. I have given them so they can forget what happened to them this morning. So that they can be comforted and enjoy the presence of that monk.

We walked the length of the seats that were already occupied to get to the empty seat in the fourth row. I was almost deaf to the girls cheering on the men’s team playing basketball in the half court only. They were shouting the name of that sociopath man. When we sat down, Urica and Lindsay dropped their bags for a moment and then started to chat. I held my forehead because I myself was ashamed of the superficial actions of my two friends. I also admires handsome men, especially Korean actors, and i really likes them. But I can’t show this kind of reaction. And I am had never experienced that in my entire life, to show a man that I am interested.

I took out my phone to search for good music. Besides I was the only one not standing among the girls who’s cheerful watching they’re I dol. As amatter of fact, I didn’t really come here to the court to watch but only to accompany the two crazy people with Lucas.

When I found my favorite music, I put earphones in my ears so that I could not hear the deafening screams of the girls. I leaned back and closed my eyes to feel the beauty of the voice I was listening to.

I felt a soft tap that woke me up. I adjusted my seat when I saw that the spectators were gradually leaving.

“Are they finished?” I asked softly to my two friends who were staring at me.

“Now we are convinced that you really have no interest in Lucas. Because for an entire hour you only put us to sleep while we were enjoying ourselves,” Urica smiled.

I just shrugged my shoulders and put my earphones and phone away before I took my bag and stood up. I also noticed that those who were playing on the court were also leaving and in fact there were already a number of them including their P.E. professor.

We were going down the stairs when I was suddenly blocked by a sweaty woman still wearing P.E. uniform I suddenly frowned at the smiling woman who was familiar to me.

“You don’t remember me anymore?” she said to me.

“Catherine?” I said as soon as I recognized it.

I also smiled when she nodded.

“How are you? I haven’t seen you since I dropped you off at your building.” she said while hanging a towel on his shoulder.

And looked at my two companions.

“Yes, we haven’t seen each other. By the way, they are my classmates and friends. Urica and Lindsay,” I introduced as Urica and Lindsay immediately shook hands.

“Hi, I’m Catherine. I was the first Luna met here on campus.” This is the pride of my two friends.

“Ah…we are classmates from when we was in high school and until now she is in grade 11,” Lindsay said meaningfully.

“She meant Catherine that they were my old classmates from high school and it’s funny because we’re still together until now. That’s why I didn’t have too much trouble dealing with them because they were there right away,’ I explained properly.

“By the way, is Lucas your classmate?” Urica’s smile reached her ears.

“Yes, and maybe he’s now in his locker. Why?” It was an artful answer to Urica that I could see a bit surprised by the way Catherine spoke.

“Eh, can you take us with you so we can take a selfie with him?” Lindsay with her palms still closed against her chest.

“I don’t think so? Do you know Lucas? He’s a total sociopath! He does not like to talk and socialize. He has his own world not unless Jenny and his cousin Nicko are with him,” he explained while still folding his arms.

I saw that my two friends were suddenly saddened by what they heard.

“But if you want, let’s try. After all, he’s talking to me. Ahm…I’ll take you with me. But once I’m in front of him, just shoot a picture on him. Is it okay?” she said with a smile that immediately made Lindsay’s eyes widen.

“Really? Wow! You are a different friend. From now on we’re friends,” Lindsay happily said to Catherine who surprised her by hitting her on the shoulder but only for a moment and she also laughed at Lindsay’s visible excitement.

“Is that so? No problem with me. Oh what? Let’s go!” Catherine suddenly said to us.

The two wasted no time and were excited to follow Catherine. I’m just behind and I don’t plan to follow until that mokong’s locker is there. We entered along the hallway where the entrance was to building B. It wasn’t confusing because I had come this morning in the hallway they were walking.

They stopped in a room and Catherine signaled for them to wait and Lindsay immediately nodded.

“Urica, Lindsay, I’ll just wait for you outside so we can go home together,”

I told the two to agree.

They already know that I am not interested in Lucas.

“Just tell Catherine I’m ahead, okay?” my last words before I leave them.

I was currently doing my assignment when my phone kept ringing. I immediately scanned it to find out who and what that notification was. It turns out that Lindsay sent pictures of her and Urica in their group chat that now includes Catherine. I’m shaking at these shots because it’s obvious that it’s all sneaky and stolen shots by Lucas. They couldn’t take a selfie with that moke cause he didn’t agree according to Catherine. But Catherine found a way to secretly film the two of them even if their faces were cut off just to capture Lucas.

The word Girl Power Is even written on their group chat

I immediately put my phone down because I have no interest in seeing those pictures of that jerk. But my phone kept ringing, which I wanted. I clicked it again and all those sounds only come from the group chat. I just turned off the phone so I could concentrate on what I was doing.

“Sister Luna!” Ellise shouted at me, which surprised me to the point that I almost dropped the ballpen I was holding.

“Ellise, what are you—” I held back my annoyance when I faced her. “Next time, don’t come into the room screaming all of a sudden. You surprised me so much today. Why? What was that?”

“Look. Look at this,” she said while pointing to the magazine where Lucas’ picture was! And that jerk again!

He was standing and wearing a tuxedo that suited him.

I smiled bitterly when I saw what Ellise taught me. In their group chat Lucas’s picture is always on the screen of my phone and now it’s still Lucas!

“According to his profile, he is in grade 12 at the school where you study, sister Luna. Isn’t he very handsome? Look, look, her eyes—the hair, the lips! He must be a good kisser, what?” I love my cousin whom I wants to fight. “Tell me sister…did you see him there? It is said that he has many fans in the campus. He is called the most handsome and attractive guy in Don Patterson Campus University,” dhe detailed with feelings.

“Yes, I have seen him. He is the only known psychopath and sociopath on our campus. Isn’t that on his profile?” My words immediately silenced Ellise.

“You know sister— haizz! You ruin the mood! This is my moment, oh, then suddenly like that? It hurts. Look, does he look like what you’re talking about?”

“That guy is really handsome for you?’ I can hardly believe that even my cousin is crazy about that guy.

“Don’t tell me that this Lucas never met you?” Ellise asked me.

“Hey, oh my! You haven’t met him yet. That attitude is ugly, don’t you know?” I said her.

“What? ‘Isn’t it? Eh, maybe it’s because you’re only paying attention to him and then he didn’t pay attention to you” she said raising one of my eyebrows.

“Hey! Ellise, you know me. I don’t need to pay attention because I’m the one the guys approach,” I said proudly to my cousin.

“I know why you are angry with Lucas?” Ellise said with a smile on her face. “Maybe Lucas didn’t pay attention to you, maybe your beauty didn’t come before him.” My cousin yelled at me that I made my eyes widen.

“You!” and I chased it with a pinch that immediately ran and left my room. My cousin and I argued for a few minutes. Ellise and I are that close. I almost feel like a sister here because I don’t have a sister and I’m the only girl. So that’s just how Ellise and I treat each other.

It’s been a few days since Lindsay was the last bully and everything has been fine. Even if they sometimes pass by their group, Edith will just look at us but they don’t approach us anymore.

We were quietly having a snack in the canteen when we were suddenly surprised by Catherine’s approach with a tray.

“Can I join?” she asked kindly, which Lindsay immediately agreed with. I moved forward so that she sat next to me.

“What time do you go home?” she asked suddenly as she put down her food one by one.

“We’re still at 3 pm, why?” Urica.

“Can you join my club? There is a meeting later at Esto bar. Attend,” she invited while taking a bite of her sandwich.

“This bar? Isn’t it illegal for under age to do that?” I asked Ellise.

“Um, no—actually it belongs to my uncle and I told him that we will hold the meeting at my club there. So you can go. Don’t worry, you’re not the only grade 11 who will go and Lucas is with me at the meeting. You know that the anniversary of the campus is near and every club needs to have an activity to show.” she explained this while wiping her mouth with a tissue

“Ahhh, that’s what sir Peña told us that we have to join the club when we don’t have a club yet. And we have to approach the 12th graders.” Lindsay said.

“I will join. You said Lucas is in the club,so I’ll join. Isn’t it, Lindsay?” Urica asked Lindsay with a smile, who immediately nodded. Before the three looked at me at the same time.

“What?” I asked them.

“What what? You’ll come with us, too.” Lindsay said to me.

“Do we really need to join those clubs, Catherine?” I turned to ask her who quickly nodded.

“Don’t you know that’s one of your extra curriculum?” it answered me.

“If Lucas is with you, does that mean you already have many members of your club? Because you already know?” Lindsay waiting for an answer from Catherine who was drinking juice.

“Yes, there are already many. But of course we didn’t immediately admit a member. We can also choose that. And since I’m the one looking at the new ones I’m going to hire, you’re the three I choose. And anyway—” she interrupted as she unzipped her bag and took out a brown envelope. It took three forms that were given to us.

“Please fill it up and then give it to me in our room later so I can show it to Lucas,” he explained to us.

Urica and Lindsay quickly accepted that and even though they hadn’t finished their snack, they started writing on the form while I was still reading it.
