CHAPTER 2

I was busy on my phone scrolling through our social media and I didn’t notice that I suddenly bump.

“Sorry, I’m really sorry I didn’t see it. I’m really sorry,” I said after a while, still bowing. I can only see shoes because I’m bent over. “I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean it," I apologized again.

When I looked up I was surprised to see who was standing in front of me. His forehead was furrowed and he looked at me intently. It has no one but him.

He suddenly raised his hand and pointed to my forehead, which I followed with my gaze that almost made me nod. But I was just surprised because he suddenly pushed my forehead with his pointed finger.

“Get out of my way,” he said sternly while pointed her without any reaction on his face.

I looked closely at the man in front of me while holding my forehead that he pushed with his pointed finger. I was not moved by what face it had.

“If you are angry about what happened, don’t do to me what you did earlier,” I said angrily.

“Then, get out of my sight,” he said again firmly.

“Here oh, the path is wide. You can go through here,” I replied firmly as I pointed to the path to my left which was really wide.

“Next time you watch where you’re walking so you don’t bump into people. So get out of my sight!” This word is so angry with me that I raised an eyebrow.

“Oh, I’m sorry. As far as I know, I’ve already apologized for what happened. So don’t make me look like I have to follow you just like that,” I said boldly.

Almost our eyes are fighting to stare. He who closes his eyes loses!

He suddenly waved at me so that he could pass, causing the passing student to look at me.

I held back my anger to retaliate against that bastard. Lindsay was right when they said that this sociopath is sick and add the psychopath too!

“Crazy head!” my mind said.

“What?! You bumped into Lucas?” Urica asked me in shock when the three of us were in the canteen.

I nodded and repeated what had happened.

“What are you? Why did you bring your courage here? Don’t you know that he is the son of the Chairman of our campus. And one of his parents’ ancestors is the founder of the campus.” Urica almost whispered this explanation.

“Why? What did I do? I bumped into him and I apologized. Then he pushed me in the forehead just like that. Then what did he do to me? Did he apologize? He also push me,” I stuttered as I cut the pork that was our dish.

“Hey, Luna! Be careful because we don’t know what will happen when you fight Lucas,” Urica said weakly to her.

I stabbed the pork when I noticed the group of girls were doing to a student who was crouching behind Urica. They laugh at the bowed woman. Mu eyebrows met as they poured milk over the student food.

My palm was clenched and I was about to stand up when Lindsay stopped me.

“Don’t mess with them. Don’t bring the bullying you did at our old school here on campus. It’s different there, it’s different here. Their parents are influential people,” said Lindsay, who was also looking at those groups. .

I bit my lip because I wanted to help the poor student but I couldn’t do anything because I was new on campus. And maybe what they will do to me especially since their parents are influential.

I just stared blindly and silently ate that even though I was having trouble swallowing, I still forced myself to swallow.

I’ve been in for a month now and I’ve seen all the happenings in our building. Abusive groups of senior women to those like us below them. I don’t know what they are behind to be bullied by those groups. All i knew was that the victim was a girl and in grade 11 like me. All of that was blinded by me and I didn’t know as my two friends told me. I ignored the woman asking me for help. That the truth is that my heart is hurt by my turning away from it.

“What happened to you Lindsay? Why do you have a wound on your lip?” I was worried when I saw the look of my friend when he entered the room.

For a few days now, I has noticed that Lindsay is quiet and doesn’t talk to Urica anymore, which surprised them both. And now they immediately noticed the wound on the side of his lip. It was still fresh and i guessed it happened before she entered.

“Lindsay?” At the same time, I held her shoulder, which quickly shook her, surprising Urica and me. “What is happening to you? Why don’t you tell us so we can help you” I said as I still faced the girl.

“It’s nothing, don’t worry about me. My sister and I just had a fight so she slapped me. But I’m fine,” she replied weakly while avoiding Urica and me.

“Alright, we’ll leave you alone now. When you’re in a good mood, Urica and I will be here,” I patted her shoulder as she slumped down. I signaled to Urica that we should leave Lindsay alone, who immediately understood what I meant.

“Lindsay doesn’t have a sister, Luna.” I suddenly turned to Urica when she told me this. “Believe me, she once took me to their house and she is the only child,” she added.

“Maybe his cousin is older than him,” I said. “That she had a fight,” I added based on what I thought maybe.

“Impossible? I have a strange feeling that’s not right,” Urica said again, staring at Lindsay who was silent and staring into nothingness.

“I don’t want to think about anything. But maybe we need to find out what’s really going on with Lindsay,” I suggested to her to which she immediately agreed.

Their break came when they were about to call Lindsay, she quickly left without saying goodbye to the two of them. She has done it three times. That’s why i and Urica are so worried about our friend. It no longer goes with their food in the canteen.

Luna acted quickly so she could catch up with Lindsay and Urica did the same. They did everything they could to catch up with their friend.

I immediately grabbed Lindsay by the arm who was almost surprised by what I did.

“I’m sorry, I thought who was it,” she said as I saw the fear in her eyes.

“Is there something you’re not telling us?” I asked her who looked away from me again. “Lindsay!” My voice was high when I called it again.

“Nothing, what about you? When I say nothing and I’m okay, I’m okay!” she said but I can still see that she is lying.

“Hey, oh no! I’m hungry, come on and go to the canteen. Then you two will not have an argument.” Urica pulled out hands at the same time.

“I can’t eat at the canteen—” she immediately cut us off as I wondered again.

“Why? You haven’t been with us for days, ah. That’s not funny, Lindsay!” Urica with a mixture of annoyance at his friend’s behavior.

“Come on, go with Urica. We haven’t bonded for three days so don’t say no.” I pushed her from behind to force her to walk towards the canteen.

I felt Lindsay’s body move but I grabbed her arm and pulled her.

We were eating our lunch when I noticed Lindsay barely touching her food. It always seems to be looking for something. It always looks at my back where the entrance is.

It's like I can read what's happening to my friend. She is afraid of someone who she can’t calm down.

I saw the sudden widening of her eyes at the same time she bent down quickly to hide her face.

“Well, well, well—” voice I turned around. A group of women approached where Lindsay was sitting. Their postures are like a campus fire. Contrary to the cool, and fiery men. There were six of them, and if i wasn’t mistaken, the one holding Lindsay was their leader.

“I told you never to show your face didn’t I? So why are you here?” these soft words in Lindsay’s ear. I saw Lindsay was scared and Urica could hardly look at them.

“I’m asking you, why are you here?” the leader repeated in her friend’s ear.

I was biting my lip because I felt so numb. Because those in front of me, I remembers that they are the groups that bully weak women. And one of hee friends was there. My feelings grew even more when I saw a woman pulling Lindsay’s hair. A woman was about to pour milk on Lindsay’s face when I suddenly stood up and slammed my palms on the table. Everyone was surprised by what I did and the group suddenly looked at me.

“Don’t worry, get out of here if you don’t want to be affected,” the leader smiled at me.

I felt Urica tugging on my blazer and saying no. But I ignored it because I could see my friend’s suffering.

“Don’t let me know? Do you see what you are doing to my friend?” My sharp words accompanied by a sharp look at them.

“Ah…this is your friend,” she suddenly pushed Lindsay’s head causing her to gnaw on her own food.

Then my chest suddenly exploded with anger and I took the tray with food and threw it in the face of the woman who pushed my friend’s head.

Everyone was surprised by what I did. I got out of my seat and faced their smiling leader. I resisted the evil look she gave me even though she was smiling.

“You are brave,” she told me.

I didn’t pay attention to that, instead I pulled Lindsay out of them and gave them to Urica.

“Take her to the bathroom to clean up.” I ordered Urica to immediately follow me.

Before I faced them again. Many people were already watching us at that time.

“What did my friend do to you to ruin her face?” I asked her as I turned my gaze to the woman who pushed Lindsay’s head who was wiping her uniform and I was about to be hurt to see her looking at her. Its leader just blocked her arm.

“Because your friend did something against our group,” said the leader.

“Against your group? Then! What Is that?” I challenge them to just laugh.

“You know, don’t feel like a hero here in our building because you might regret it later,” she said near my ear.

“I’m not feeling like a hero, I just want you to be clear that what you’re doing is wrong. It’s not because your parents are influential that you have the right to hurt other people. And you’re saying that someone did something against your group? I just want to ask, are you not violating humanity here on campus?” My bold words to them.

“You’re brave and you’re standing up to us,” she said while caressing my cheek which I just let go.

Because it’s time to hurt me, I won’t hesitate to fight.

“I’ll forgive what you did today, but that doesn’t mean you’re safe with us,” she smiled insultingly and let her fellow dogs leave.

I breathed a sigh of relief when they left. I sat down and closed my eyes then tied my long hair. In that scene, I noticed that the sociopath was staring at me in the distance. Sitting and leaning with arms folded. Next to it Is the woman who looks at me sharply and there are other men with her. I have struggled with them before took Lindsay’s stuff that was left behind as well as my stuff. I quickly went to the bathroom where I ordered Urica to take Lindsay. I saw Lindsay crying while Urica hugged her.

“Luna, what happened?” Urica looked at Lindsay when she saw me.

“Nothing,” I said which still surprised me because Lindsay quickly approached her to get a good look at her.

“Did they hurt you?” Lindsay worries about me.

“No. Tell me, are they the ones you have on your lips?” I am referring to the wound on the side of the lip.

Lindsay wiped the tears from her cheeks and faced me again. She nodded and suddenly hugged her.

“I’m afraid of them, Luna,” she said weakly.

“What did you do and suddenly you became their target?” I asked her as she rubbed Lindsay’s rear.

“That’s what I asked her before you entered,” Urica interjected.

“I don’t know, it’s just that the other day someone suddenly called me and suddenly hit me,” she said, sobbing Lindsay’s words.

“Didn’t you fight them?” I repeat here.

Suddenly, Lindsay’s embrace loosened from me.

“I fought back and told her I would report them but they scared me, ” Lindsay’s trembling words.

“I told you, Luna, it’s hard to fight against people like them. They’re not just ordinary students here on campus. Their parents will be convinced that even if you complain, they won’t be fired or punished. Especially for people like us who have no opponents.” Urica explained to me.

“Who are they? Why do they hurt students like that?” I asked again as I watched the trembling Lindsay. It’s like being traumatized by what happened.

“The leader is the son of the Congressman and the one who held Lindsay’s head is the son of the mayor,” she answered me weakly.

I looked around and bit my lip because I couldn’t think of any reason to fight it. Who is i to collide with them only to lose. First of all, i might be expelled from the campus that her aunt paid for and that’s what I doesn’t want to happen.

“Luna, because of your help, they might target you,” Lindsay said me.

“That won’t happen and don’t worry,” I said but the truth was that I was suddenly nervous. I fought those groups and maybe they will come back to me. How will I deal with it?

Monday came and they had two days off from the last incident. I was surprised because my two friends were not in their seats yet. I used to get them right away. But now there is nothing. I looked at my watch and their class was about to start in ten minutes.

After finishing their first subject, Urica and Lindsay were still gone, which surprised me. I immediately texted them to ask them why they didn’t come in?

Suddenly my phone rang and Urica’s name appeared on the screen.

I immediately answered it.

“Hello, Urica. Why didn’t you come in? Lindsay wasn’t there either,” I said on the other line.

“Do you want to see your friends?” i heard a different voice that surprised me.

“Who are you?”

The person on the other line laughed loudly. “If you want to meet me, come here to sports complex A. Go to the back, to the aroma’s garden. Now!” there it has turned off the line.

I quickly moved to go to that place. The senior high’s sport complex is far away from their building. I did it walking and running, which is why I was out of breath when I reached that place.

Lindsay and Urica were sitting with three guards behind them. I quickly approached it but a woman stopped me.

“Are you all right?” I asked the two who nodded at the same time.

I looked at their appearance and there was no scar or even a wound on their face.

“As we expected, you are even earlier than I set minutes of your arrival,” said the leader of the one I bumped into.

“What is this again?” I frowned and asked the leader.

“As you can see, your friends are fine. We didn’t hurt them,” she smiled at me.

“Let them go,” I ordered.

Suddenly, even her companions laughed.

“Okay! I’m easy to talk to but on one condition,” she said as she turned me around and suddenly put her arms around me.

“I’m a kind person, but you have to follow my orders,” she added.

I looked at my two friends who were shaking their heads at the same time.

“If I don’t follow your order what will you do?” I asked her who was now staring at me.

She signaled to her companions and together they pulled Lindsay and Urica’s hair. The two screamed in pain.

“Stop it! Are you going to do nothing but hurt other students?” I said angry words to the smiling leader.

“We won’t hurt your friends if you just follow our orders,” she said to me again. “And you have no right to ask us why we are doing this?”

“Alright, I’ll do what you want, just let my two friends go. And don’t hurt them,” I condition them.

“Cool!” she quickly answered and ordered her companions to release the two.

Lindsay and Urica were about to approach me, but the leader’s companions did not let them approach, but accompanied them to leave this place.

When the two were out of my sight, I faced the leader again who was now sitting complacently watching me.
