Chapter 2

***

"Wait guys, what if what she was saying is actually true?" Hazel held his hand as he scoffed.

"She said that the doctor had left, so there is nothing to be scared of" he pulled her grip away as she glanced at Willow, who was staring at them.

"Come one now, Hazel! I thought you were a strong girl, what are you afraid of? Corpses?" Piper giggled as Hazel rolled her eyes at her.

"Come on, this is not funny"

Billy was busy looking for something that he would use to break the lock as he examined the door.

"This would not be difficult, I would need something to smash the lock"

"Smash the lock? Are you insane? What if someone heard? What do you think would happen? Don't you know that we might be charged for trespassing?" Hazel was quick to point out.

"Guys, I think she is right. What we are about to do is a break-in. We should not alert the attention of the whole resident of the hospital" Willow spoke.

(It would have been okay if you left what you saw to yourself) Hazel thought as the hairs on her skin stood erect.

"Okay, I guess I would need something like a pin to pick the lock then," He said.

"Here, use this" Piper removed the pin from her hair and handed it over to him.

"I guess someone should be at the exit door to check when that red-headed nurse would be coming back. She might be on her way right now" with that, Hazel hurried to the door and stood.

She was too scared to take part in what they were doing.

"I would take care of the door!" She called out to them, almost in a whisper.

When Billy started picking the lock with the hairpin, Willow got up from the bed and managed to walk to the door without allowing her injured sole to completely touch the floor as the pain was still there.

"How is it going? Do we have a chance?"

"Yeah, I am almost done. Just give me a sec" Billy was sweating now as he tried to pick the lock while Hazel almost urinated in her shorts. Even if she was not standing close to them but at the exit door.

"This is a bad idea, I know it. Do not say I did not warn you guys. This is no good at all. What if there are truly corpses in there?" She cringed at the thought of that.

"Quiet! Will you? We are trying to concentrate here, and corpses are dead bodies that do not move" Piper scolded as Hazel kept murmuring as they heard a click sound.

They all averted their gazes at Billy who had opened the lock.

"I did it,'' he murmured and smirked as Hazel, who was at the doorpost, left it and walked up to them. But she stood at their back and watched.

"Okay, the door is unlocked, who is going in first?" Hazel asked as they looked from one to another.

"Not me, I am sick" Willow raised her hands in the air.

"Billy, you should go in. You are the guy, after all, you suggested for it to be opened" Hazel pushed him as he drew himself backward.

"Hay! I have the right to volunteer to go in there or not. Do not force me, okay!" He scolded but did not make any move to open the door.

"Are you guys nuts? You are just scared for nothing" Piper walked to the door and held the doorknob.

"Wait! What if something jumps right at you? What would happen? I am scared" Hazel said as Piper rolled her eyes.

"She said she saw lifeless bodies on the stretchers, how would lifeless bodies jump at me? Are they zombies or something?' She rolled her eyes.

"Just be careful" Hazel added as Piper opened the door and stood against it in a way that they would not be able to see the inside.

"Oh my God!" She exclaimed as her eyes shone in terror.

"What Is it?"Billy asked.

"What did you see?" Hazel was too scared to take a look.

Piper turned her back to look at Willow who was frightened now.

"This is so scary!" She began laughing as they wondered what was wrong with her.

"Seriously Willow, did you hit your head somewhere? Because this is crazy!" She widely opened the door as her friends got a clear view of the room.

The room was cozy and innocent enough to pass for a little ward without beds.

There was no counter as she described, neither were there any two stretchers with bodies covered with a blue or green robe.

"I swear it, I know what I saw. Something was going on here"

"Come on now, we have to go!"

"I just broke in for nothing. Come on Willow, are you sure you are okay?" Billy started closing the door as the red-headed nurse walked into the Ward with the first aid kit.

"I am sorry for coming late!" She announced and stopped immediately she saw where they were.

"Okay, we are busted for nothing. I said it, this was a bad idea, but none of you would ever listen to me" Hazel protested as the Red-headed nurse dropped the kit on a table and walked up to them.

"What the hell are you guys doing here?" She feigned annoyance and got to the door. Her chin was tightened and her brows were furrowed.

"The door was not locked, so we wondered what was in there!" Piper lied as the nurse stared at her sternly.

"Please, get out of here. And doctor Richard would never leave this place unlocked!" They scurried away to Willow's bed as she leaped on one foot until she sat on her bed.

(DOCTOR RICHARD) Willow muttered under her breath and nodded.

The Red-Headed nurse noticed that nothing happened to the lock, which means, they did not break in and she wondered if Doctor Richard really forgot to lock up the door.

She glanced back to see that Willow and her friends were staring at her. She carefully closed the door without looking inside the room, after which, she locked it up.

She walked back to them and took out the first aid kit.

She opened it and started bringing out some tools. She used the pair of scissors to cut out a piece of cotton wool, then, Willow gave her the injured foot while she and her friends discussed something else.

"I can not believe that that customer is gay! It is so shocking" Piper spoke.

"Serves you right anyway, there are a lot of guys, dying to get you, but--"

"Dying to get me on their bed!" She corrected as Willow, Billy, and Hazel laughed.

They kept talking as the nurse dipped the cotton wool into a methylated spirit and was about to clean the wound as she stared at the blood.

She looked up at Willow and her friends, when she had noticed that they were not paying attention to her, she brought out a handkerchief from her pocket and used it to clean the blood on the foot first.

She used her fingers to deepen the wound as blood came out more and Willow winced and screamed.

The Nurse quickly placed the handkerchief in her pocket, Willow saw her putting her hand in her pocket, but she did not see what she put inside.

"Are you okay?" Piper was quick to ask as she stared at the foot that the nurse was cleaning now.

"I do not know, I felt a sharp pain, it was like someone was clawing on the injury," she said staring at the wound as blood was oozing out a little and the nurse was cleaning it with the cotton wool dipped in methylated spirit. After which, she dipped the cotton wool into a green solution and cleaned the surface of the wound.

"You would be fine, do not worry. It was not a deep cut" she smiled and finished.

She started arranging the things back in the first aid kit, this time, Willow did not take her eyes off her as her friends were talking to her.

When the nurse was about to leave, Willow held her hand back.

"When will I get discharged?"

"Maybe tomorrow," she smiled and Willow could see that the smile was fake.

"No, I want to leave here now. I do not want to spend any more time here" she said sternly.

"Hey, Willow, take it easy." Piper laughed but Willow was not finding it funny as she locked her gaze with the nurse.

"Fine! I will get you the rest of the bill" with that, she started walking away.

"Please do that" When they were sure that the nurse had left, they questioned her.

"Seriously, Willow. What is going on? What is wrong with you?' Hazel asked.

"I know you guys might think that I might be crazy, but I do not like this place. I have to leave"

"Okay, sure. You would leave" Billy glanced at the clock on the wall and saw that it was past 10.

"Do not just vent your anger on the innocent Nurse!" He added as Hazel and Piper laughed. But Willow was still not finding it funny.

After some time, the nurse returned with a receipt, they finalized the payment and she was discharged.

Billy, whose car was parked outside the hospital revved the engine of the car, while Willow, Piper, and Hazel waited for him as he reverse the tires.

Willow looked at the gigantic building of the hospital and sighed.

"What is this place?" She murmured and stared at the signpost of the Hospital that was lit up by tiny lightbulbs.

*CROWVILLE HOSPITAL*

She did not bother to read the rest detail as she sighed.

She felt that someone or something was watching her as the hairs on the nape of her neck stood.

She glanced to a small open window, and the curtains were taken down before she could see who it was.

(Was it that same masked doctor. Doctor Richard.)  She thought and wondered why he was peeping at her from the window.

(Was it truly him? Or it was just a figment of my imagination? Oh my God. I must be mad!) A hand touched her as she gasped and saw that it was Piper.

"Oh my God! You scared me!" She touched her forehead.

"Willow! Come on, what were you staring at? We have been honking at you for ages. Are you okay?"

"I am… I'm… fine" she stuttered and looked up at the window, the curtains were still down.

"Come on guys, it might rain anytime soon, let us get the hell out of here" Billy honked.

Hazel was already in the car and was operating on her phone while Piper and Willow entered the car.

Willow sat next to the window of the car, when the car was in motion, she glanced up at the window and saw that the curtains of the window had been raised, this time, she could not see who was standing up there. But she knew that there was someone up there, looking at them.

"Willow! What is wrong with you?" Piper touched her arms as she quickly averted her gaze to her.

"Oh, nothing. Nothing at all" she managed to say.

"I was showing you this momo mask, would it be good for a Halloween costume? I want something scary and sexy!" She giggled as Willow stared at the picture on the phone.

"Well, that does not look like something sexy to me" She shrugged.

"Damn, I guess I have to look for something else" she faced her phone as Willow went lost in thought.

She was thinking of everything she saw at that hospital.

She later concluded that she was just hallucinating. But she surely do not want to return to that hospital again, but unfortunately, that was the only hospital in town, Crowville.

The car parked outside the little wooden cabin she shared with her grandmother who was sick of a brain tumor.

"Thanks, guys. I really appreciate" She said when she came down from the car.

"Will you come to the coffee shop tomorrow? Boss is dying to see you" Billy winked at her as she shrugged.

"I do not know, but, I guess would give it a try"

"Do not stress it too much, and do not forget to send my love to grandma!" Piper brought her head outside the window of the car.

"Bye, Willow! Dream of me!" Hazel waved at her as the car shot out of sight.

She sighed as a damp cool breeze brushed past her face. She could still see the little lamp that was on in the house as she walked inside the building.
