Chapter 6

***

"Grandma! Hello?" She called out as she entered the living room. She removed her handbag from her shoulders and dropped it on the table, she noticed that everything was exactly as she kept them before she left for the coffee shop.

"Grandma! Are you alive?" She was getting closer to her grandma's room as she felt a sharp pain at the sole of her foot.

"Ouch!" She yelped and stopped walking as she hopped on one foot until she got to her room.

She brought out her first aid box and removed her shoes immediately. Taking off her socks, she removed the bandage on her foot and frown.

"Eww! Will this get any worse?" She muttered and removed the big green maggot from the decaying sore with a pair of scissors and placed it in a goblet and covered it up.

She sighed.

After adding iodine to the foot, she applied a bandage to it and wore her socks, after which, she dropped the goblet on the table and walked to her grandma's room.

"Hello? Grandma? I am home" she muttered and got to the room.

The wheelchair was still facing the garden.

Willow rested her back on the wooden wall of the Cabin and smiled.

"Look at that" she murmured and walked up to her grandma.

The bottle of milk was empty, so were the different fruits half-eaten and scattered on the floor of the cabin.

"Well, at least you ate" she kissed her forehead.

"I will be right back, let me prepare to clean you up" with that, she walked to the kitchen and returned with a bowl of water and a towel.

When she was done cleaning up her grandma, she carefully placed her on her bed.

"Grandma, I would be right back. I have to prepare for Halloween"

"Do you remember Samara? Yes. She got missen during Halloween. I am going to that same show she went to three years ago and--" she bowed her head.

"I know I am boring you up with talks, just take care of yourself and be alright while I am away, grandma" she patted her forehead and started walking toward the door.

"And, do not die before I come back" she turned back to fave her granny and faced the door again as she held the doorknob.

When she left the room, her grandma turned her head and looked toward the door she just closed.

Willow took an apple on the tray, that was lying on the long table in the sitting room and started munching on it as she was very hungry.

She had no time to prepare breakfast as she had to prepare for the show.

Willow got to her room and took her bath, she switched on the bedstand light and walked up to her window, it was getting dark and the street seemed very busy.

"Where do these people come from?" She thought and watched the busy street, with people, all dressed up for Halloween.

Her eyes darted to the scarecrow and it was as if it was looking right at her.

"Do not glare at me, ugly!" She mumbled and took down the curtains.

"Jeez!" She yelled when she turned her back to the room.

She raced to the bedstand and increased the light of the lamb.

She breath down immediately she noticed that there was nothing there.

"For the Love of Mike!" She muttered under her breath and sat on her bed, after placing her head on her palm.

For a second, she thought that she saw the momo masked cloaked man that was chasing after her in her dream with a sickle.

"I must be imagining things!" She murmured and started preparing for the Halloween show.

After taking her bath, she brought out the Halloween costume and removed it from the box.

"Okay, this is it!" She frowned and started dressing up.

She wore the cloak, packed her hair very carefully, and wore the horn on her head. She walked to the mirror and started applying makeup to her face.

She saw some fangs in the box of costume and scoffed.

"The bitch had a fang!" She smiled and took it, after which, she carefully fixed it in my mouth.

She examined herself in the mirror and nodded.

"Not bad?" She applied a very sharp red lipstick to her lips and it was like blood. After she was satisfied with decorating her face. She smiled at the reflection.

"Hello," she said, trying to mimic Maleficent's voice.

She giggled and darted her eyes to her bed and was searching for the purse she returned with from the coffee shop.

"Dang it!' She murmured when she remembered that she left it in the living room.

She heard the sound of a honk, right outside the house, walking up to the window, she raised the curtains and saw three figures which she figured to be Billy, Hazel, and Piper.

"Is it 8 already?" She said and took down the curtains.

She grabbed the goblet that had the maggot and walked to the living room.

After snatching the purse that was lying on the table, she walked to the candles on the mantelpiece and blew them off. Then she lit up the lamp and walked out of the house.

"It is about time" she heard a voice say when she got outside the cabin.

She turned to face them as Billy pointed a strong flashlight toward her.

"Now look at that?" Piper smiled as Willow tried to cover her face with her cloak.

"Maleficent! Mistress of Evil!" Hazel yelled.

"Cut it out!" Willow yelled as Billy switched off the torchlight.

She started walking up to them as they sat on the car.

"What the hell was that for?" She asked no one in particular.

"I was wondering, maybe you changed your mind. Because it is 8: 39 PM already!" Hazel spoke.

"Oh, I took that long?" She muttered as she remembered how she had to take care of her grandma.

"That is a nice scarecrow over there!" Billy observed.

They averted their gaze toward it immediately.

"Do not mind that, the kids in the neighborhood made it!" She scoffed.

"It sure looks scary!" Hazel laughed as they laughed too.

"Come on, let's get out of here. It is getting late!" Piper suggested.

"You guys are not looking bad! And Billy, you look scary!"

They laughed as Hazel stopped immediately and gazed at Willow's mouth.

"What is that?" She asked trying to touch her lips.

"Hey! Cut it out! Those are lipstick!"

"I do not mean that! I mean your teeth!"

"Oh, fake fangs. In the maleficent costume set, now cut it out!" She said and they started entering the cab.

When they were settled down, Billy started igniting the engine.

"Hey! Billy. I got another of that shit from my sore!" She tapped his back as he turned.

She handed him the goblet as he received it with thanks.

"Eww, what are you using that for?" Hazel was disgusted.

"Experiment of course! I need as many as I can get!"

"Don't you think it is high time to cut the chase and go to the hospital?" Piper asked Willow who was looking out from the window of the car as it was in motion now.

"We have spoken about this before, and we are not going back to it" And that brought the conversation to an end.

They admired the costumes of different people that were going to the Halloween Show or Halloween celebration of their choice.

"So, there is no map. How are we going to get there?" Piper asked, breaking the silence.

"Yeah, I never even thought of that!" Willow brought out the ticket from her purse and was watching it with keen interest.

"Yeah, about that! I noticed something back at home, the back of the ticket that has a skull, scratch it off" he said.

"Okay, this is just a Halloween show, can we not try to make it look creepy?" Hazel asked.

"Come on, it is part of the fun of it!" Piper told her as she had scratched hers off already.

"Only with a taste of blood, shall it be revealed to the possessor!" She read out from what she scratched and scoffed.

"Is this serious?"

"Nah! It is just for the fun of it. Come on, I did mine at home. And the venue for the show appeared. You can drop it if you are too scared to do it. It is just for the fun of it!" He shrugged as Willow scratched hers off and she saw the same thing.

She glanced at Piper's hair and started dragging it.

"Hey! What was that for? I worked out my ass to get that done!"

"Got it!" She smiled and showed her a hairpin she took from her hair while Piper brought out a mirror from her purse and started rearranging her hair.

Willow pierced her thumb with the pin, and Hazel was just staring at her with keen interest.

Willow scrubbed her blood and the write-up cleaned and something else came up.

*OUTSKIRT OF CROWVILLE* Was written on it.

"Well, they should have just written it down." Hazel rolled her eyes.

"That is the fun of it. Well, I am not missing out on anything that has to do with Halloween season!" Piper was excited as she took the pin from Willow's palm and pricked her pinky fingers which she used in scrubbing her ticket too.

That same venue showed as her face beamed.

"Hey! Come on! Look at Willow, she did it. What are you so afraid of?" Billy asked while staring at her from the mirror.

"Well, anything that has to do with me injuring myself, I do not want it," she said.

Willow was busy, staring at various Halloween costumes in admiration. And most of the time, she feels like she saw the Momo masked man with the sickle.

But she concluded that it was just the figment of her imagination.

They passed the last signpost that says *Goodbye from Crowville* and crossed a bridge that was built with planks.

"We are here!" Billy blurted out and stopped the car.

They all alighted from it and marveled at the soundings.

"Okay, I have never been here before" Hazel spoke.

"Well, will this Halloween show get more interesting? I am so loving it already! I bet this would be the best Halloween show! Ever!" Piper screamed as her voice echoed, then an owl hooted from a tree and kept staring at a particular spot. Willow noticed this and gave the owl a horrid look.

"We are in the middle of nowhere and you are excited?" Willow was making sure that she observe the environment.

"Come on. I believe there is another puzzle we just have to solve" Billy said as he switched on and pointed the flashlight to the ticket and started observing it.

"Okay, I am not getting anything!" Piper blurted out.

"Hey, guys! Check this out!" Hazel showed them her ticket that she had opened and there was a write-up in it.

"Try opening it like a book, you will see" she stated as her friends did as she instructed.

"The night creature shall lead you to the valley of skulls?" Piper read out from her ticket.

"That is what is written on mine too," Billy said.

"Yeah, me too!" Hazel smiled.

"So, everyone that was given this ticket has to go through this?" Willow scoffed.

"Come on, quit whining. Let us look for the night creature!" Piper shushed her.

"It is right there!" She pointed at the owl who was still looking at the same spot.

"Okay! I guess we have to go through the path it is looking at?" Hazel was excited as they started walking with Piper staying at their back and Billy at their front as he was with the torchlight.

They got to a narrow path and the torchlight seized to on.

"What happened?" Hazel was quick to ask.

"I do not know. I guess it is the battery!" He started hitting it but it would not on.

"Come on, let us keep going" Willow spoke as he stopped bugging the torch and they resumed walking.

They got to the path that had skulls, drenched in blood, with a candle, lit up and placed on the top of the skulls. Blood was dripping down from the eyes and mouth of the skulls as Willow flinched. The skulls were arranged in rows.

It was exactly like her dream.

"Come on, are you scared of these skulls?' Piper laughed at her as she notice her flinch.

"Come on! There is nothing to be scared of"

Piper walked to one of the skulls and started laughing.

"Piper! What are you doing?" Willow's eyes bulged.

"Showing you that these are just decorations!" She laughed and picked one of the skulls and kissed it.
