His expression spoke volumes.

Everything was clear.

Of course, he couldn’t kill Francis in front of me, because he was Francis!

I knew that Francis could change his identity, but it didn’t occur to me that Francis was only one of his identities.

Now I understood why these days he kept a distance from me deliberately. He was afraid that I could recognize him.

No wonder he gave me a sense of familiarity this night.

Actually, he did a good job of concealing his identity before this night. I had never doubted that they were the same guy after I knew the alpha's name was Nicholas.

But the instant he was out of control and his eyes turned from brown to black, somehow it conjured up Francis’ face. It was at that moment that the seed of doubt was planted.
