An unfamiliar sensation surged through my veins, jolting me awake. Gasping for air, I blinked my eyes open to a world of disorientation. My breath came in heavy bursts as a searing pain coursed through my neck, a painful trail that seemed to burst my veins.
With an instinctual grip, I clutched onto the shoulders of the man who was biting my neck, pushing him away.
My eyes widened as I realized it was Kai.
"What are you..." My voice trembled, my mind struggling to form coherent words.
Relief washed over his face, transforming his features into a happy smile. His hand cupped my face, "You're awake? Oh, thank the gods, you're awake!"
