Chapter 14

CRYSTAL

I woke up in pain and it was hard to open my eyes. I yelled out for Brooks and he answered asking what was wrong. I told him I couldn't see and he told me to hold on. I heard the water running and then felt a warm cloth against my face. He wiped my eyes and explained my eyes were a little crusty due to crying last night.

"Why was I crying and why do I hurt so bad?"

"You don't remember?"

"Remember what, Brooks?"

When he stopped wiping my face I was able to open my eyes and saw I was in the hospital. I freaked out and slung the cover off me and checked my stomach. Brooks told me to relax and said the baby was fine.

"What do you remember about last night, Crystal?"

"I remember going to Dad's and eating dinner. I was feeling sick and we left to go home. It was raining when we left and… oh my god, Brooks! Is the other driver ok?"
