Chapter 74: Her ruin

“What’s wrong, sir?” Mabel, who was beside him, asked when she saw a change in Christian’s expression. He had been fine just a few minutes ago and now, he had a frown on his face after receiving the call.

“Work, nothing I can’t handle,” Christian lied, and he schooled his expression back to normal. “Now, let’s get back to the fact that you were a scared cat,” he smirked, hoping she didn’t really think he would let go of his chance to mock her.

"Hey, it's not funny," Mabel scolded Christian, frowning at him for making fun of her while her face became red with embarrassment. However, Mabel's comment just made Christian laugh even harder.

"Ahh," Christian imitated Mabel's expressions whenever the terrifying scenes came up, and he watched her turn into the same colour as a tomato as she was unable to retort.
