Chapter 75: Engulfed in each other's arms

Christian turned his head towards Mabel who was sleeping peacefully on his chest with no care in the world. She was really brave to do so when he was a devil who could easily burn her.

She was unable to speak clearly after revealing what condition she had. He guessed that whatever she wanted to tell him had something to do with her family but she hadn't yet gathered the courage to do so.

Before he knew it, when he bent his head to check her after minutes of silence, he saw that she was asleep and before he could react she snuggled closer to him and held him so tight, it was like she thought he would run away from her.

Her answer to his question the previous night plagued Christian’s mind. Mabel’s grandparents’ lives were at stake and yet, she was not going to carry out her father's orders.
