I hope you liked this chapter. I would love to read your comments.
I furrowed my brow, “Excuse me?” She gently slapped her forehead, “I am so sorry. I am Aamira. I am your dress designer.” I breathed a sigh of relief, “Oh goddess! You would not believe the morning we’ve had. Please come in.”After working with Aamira on the style, the fabric and the measurements, for the next four hours. By the time she finished sketching it, I was so excited, I almost screamed in joy. I gasped, “Aamira! The dress is stunning! I can’t wait to put it on.”Aamira smiled, “I am so happy you love it. I should have it done in only a couple of days. I will be back to do a fitting, then I will make the alterations and add the sequins and pearls.”Aamira left at the same time Isaac and Queen Winnie walked in and plopped down on the couch. Queen Winnie had scratches on her arms and face, but they weren’t deep. Isaac was fine, this time, but it made me wonder if he had some spare clothes in the dungeon.I asked, “How did it go?” Winnie started, “Oh it was great! I may look like
I sighed in relief when I saw the familiar smirk on the most beautiful face, “I’m so glad you heard me.” Selene giggled, “I am always listening for you, Zariah. What questions do you have for me?”I asked, “First of all, I really need to know how long we have until we are attacked by the dark witches?” She answered, “Right now, you have around one year… maybe two.” I asked, “So there is no chance that we will be attacked during our ascension ceremony?” Selene smiled, “I will make sure of it.”I smiled, “That’s all I need to know. Now I can relax and sleep. I just need to know if there is anything you need me to watch out for.” She answered, “Just be vigilant and do not take any food or drink that wasn’t specifically made for you. There are still some jealous alphas and she-wolves out there, but none are a threat to the pack.”I nodded thoughtfully, “Thank you so much for easing my mind. I can only hope I make you proud as a luna.” She smiled, “Oh dear, you already are. Putting your pac
After spending all day shopping for office furniture with Alpha Kenny, Luna Kyra and Isaac, we all decided to go out to eat. We found a Hibachi grill and we all went in. Luna Kyra wanted sushi while Alpha Kenny wanted oysters. Isaac and I wrinkled our noses at their orders and placed our orders with the waiter. As we ate and laughed for the next two hours, I noticed a man watching us closely. Every time I looked at him, I would see him turn his head away from us. I asked, “Do we have anyone in plain clothes working security for us?”Alpha Kenny asked, “Are you talking about the guy in the black t-shirt and the light blue jeans?” Isaac added, “Blue ball cap?” I nodded, “So you’re watching him too?” Isaac nodded and I saw Alpha Kenny’s eyes glaze over. Alpha Kenny asked, “Is everyone done eating?” I nodded, along with everyone else.We all stood when we watched two warriors approach the man and they walked out with him. I chuckled, “Am I crazy thinking that if there was ever a polite way
I furrowed my brow, “What do you mean?” She opened the box and I gasped at the necklace, bracelet and earrings set enclosed. The necklace was a large teardrop diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds. The chain was small diamonds, linked together. The bracelet was a strand of princess-cut diamonds with a strand of smaller diamonds above and below it. The earrings were teardrop diamonds with three small princess-cut diamonds hanging from them.I asked, “Do you know who the luna was or the pack?” She answered, “I’m assuming it was your great-grandmother. The one who was gifted, like you. We will have to ask Queen Winnie. She seems to know a lot about her.”I suggested, “We’ll have to reach out to her soon. I am so glad she’s coming to the ceremony. Having her there will help me feel a little safer. I’m good with all of my abilities, but I can’t put a protection spell on Isaac and myself.”When we left the bank, I asked, “Is there anything else my grandparents asked you to hold on to for me
The surgeon smiled, “She is going to be okay. Luckily, the knife wasn’t silver and he missed most of her major organs. She had a lot of blood in her abdomen because he managed to puncture her liver. We were able to stop the bleeding in that and found a small puncture in her good kidney. We were also able to fix that and everything looks good now.”I smiled, “That’s very good news. Is there any word on the warrior who was guarding her?” He nodded, “Yes. He was more seriously injured. He wasn’t stabbed, but his throat was cut. The good news is that his wolf had already healed the cut arteries, so the bleeding had stopped before he was even in surgery.”We all let out a breath in relief and I asked, “When will Elana be able to have visitors?” He answered, “It would probably be wise to let her rest tonight. She should be okay tomorrow.” I smiled, “Sounds good. Of course, Tayna will probably want to stay in her room with her again.”Tayna nodded, “Yes, please. She needs me as much as I need
“Thank you, Miss Franklin. I’ll tell mom you need to talk to her,” I assured as I walked out of the general store.Miss Franklin is the little grey-haired lady who owned the store. It was more than just a small grocery store to this little town. It was also the gas station, video rental, and a deli-style sandwich shop.Besides the bait shop and canoe rental next to the river two miles away, it was the only business in our town.Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas is a tiny town in neutral territory. It’s a town that has a great sense of community and it’s very close-knit.My parents always told me they didn’t like being in their old pack because the alpha didn’t pay the omegas for their work and treated them like dirt. They always told me that if I ever wanted to join a pack, make sure to ask if the omegas are paid. That was a good way to tell if it was a good pack.My parents were loving and doted on me, as the only child, but they never spoiled me.As unaffiliated wolves, they couldn’t afford
I kept hearing a beeping sound. When I opened my eyes, the lights were way too bright so I put my hand over my eyes.I heard a sweet woman’s voice, “Hey, sweetheart, you’re awake! Let me dim the lights a little for you.”The voice sounded so familiar, but I couldn’t place it.I slowly opened my eyes and found an older couple sitting on either side of the bed.I remembered seeing both of these people at my last birthday party, “Grandma?” I asked then turned to the man, “Grandpa?”They both nodded.Grandma asked, “How are you feeling, sweetheart?”“Thirsty. The rogues killed mommy and daddy. Didn’t they?” I croaked. I knew they were dead, I just needed to hear it from someone else.As soon as I saw the worried look on each of their faces, I knew they were dead.My grandmother poured a cup of water for me and put a straw in it while my grandfather kissed my forehead.Their hands were warm and comforting. As I was drinking, I was informed by grandpa that they had made arrangements for me
Life after losing my parents was hard, but I quickly learned to move on. Having my grandparents and Isaac by my side helped me to move on more than I ever imagined possible. When I started Junior High School, five young ladies barged into my personal space and never walked out. My best friends, Wendy, Paula, Mandy, Chrystal, and Kari ran with me every morning, no matter the weather. With time, we started running five miles every school day and ten miles one day a week. I came to love that burn in my muscles after a run. It became one of my favorite ways to get rid of the images that plagued my memories and dreams of my parents. It was a constant fight to keep them beaten to the back of my mind. That caused a lot of anger issues that used to happen occasionally. Alpha Kenny and Isaac started running with us on weekends when they had time. Isaac and I were still considering each other friends, but my feelings for him had never changed. I had sensed the same with him. I could feel
