Alpha Ethan’s (POV) I had just spent a week at the Alpha gathering in Nashville, and I was on my way home. I was ready to be home, back with my pack. Alpha Ethan (POV)They had her in a private room at the end of the hall, in a dimly lit room. The sight inside was heart wrenching, Amber was sitting right at Renee’s bedside holding her hand and Jonathan was standing in the corner looking far more stressed than I had ever seen him before. Renee looked so helpless on the bed. Her face and what I could see of her body was covered in a red rash, her eyes were swollen closed and very puffy, she had an oxygen mask strapped across her face covering her nose and mouth. Her breaths were shallow and weak."How is she?" I asked "I don't really know, the last time I talked to the doctor he said she was stable, but not healing how she should." Alpha Ethan (POV)Amber grabbed my fist and looked in my eyes and spoke. "Look first things first, let's find out what the doctor can do for her." I took a deep breath and nodded my head. I guess during the commotion the doctor slipped into Renee’s room as he was standing next to her bed changing out the IV bag.We all went back into the hospital room. It felt like someone was stabbing my heart when I looked at Renee. How could anyone do this to her. Even through the swelling and redness I could see her soft and sweet facial features. "What are our options doctor?" Amber asked "Well, they aren't great, her wolf side is incredibly weakened and therefore she isn't healing. If she was a weaker wolf, she probably wouldn't be alive right now." He sighed "but as much damage as there is, she needs to heal soon or she might not make it." Amber burst into tears. Alpha Ethan’s (POV) I sat down next to Renee’s bed to await the doctor, less than minute later he arrived with a syringe of medicine. “This medicine will induce her heat; it might take some time for it to take affect due to her current condition. Her burns will probably start to heal first and after that hopefully she will start to regain consciousness, although with the pain medication, I am also administering she most likely won’t be clear headed. Her eyes will be the last thing to heal as they take the most time.” “I understand” I answered“A couple minutes after I inject the medication, I will remove her IV so she doesn’t tear it out during the heat.”I watched as he pushed the medicine into the IV tube, he waited a few minutes as he said he would and pulled the IV from her arm. “Will she be aware that I’m here?” I asked before he left the room, I was getting increasingly nervous about the situation I barely knew Renee and who knew where this heat would lead. Alpha Ethan (POV)I could feel my wolf side surging forward the scent was overpowering, it was Renee’s normal scent of warm vanilla but sweeter, before I even knew what I was doing, I was back beside her bed and nuzzling my nose against her neck, inhaling deeply as if my life depended on it.I wanted Renee before she started flooding the room with hormones. I could see a nurse running down the hall towards us."Lay her on the bed!" She instructed, I quickly laid Renee down on the hospital bed. Renee started was convulsing and screaming. "What's happening?" I shouted "Her heat pain and the pain from her internal injuries is overwhelming her. She has burned through her pain medicine! At this rate her heart will give out! You must hold her down, so I can get this medicine into her veins" The nurse all but screamed at me. “I grabbed her arm and did my best to hold Renee, but she was a lot stronger than she looked, no matter what I did she was still moving too much. Alpha Ethan (POV)Before I knew it and angry growl escaped my lips, and Renee lunged forward away from me. With not being able to see anything, she tripped against the chair and started falling towards the floor.
