CHAPTER 18

“Mykel,” Lily called out to Mykel while still holding onto him.

"Let’s go to your Mom and Benny. I saw them,” Mykel said, pulling Lily away from the fire. They walked hand in hand, moving away from the danger. From a distance, Lily saw her mother with Benny. She quickly released herself from Mykel's embrace and ran towards them.

"Mom!" she called out and immediately hugged her mother.

"Lily," her mother reciprocated the hug tightly. It did not take long for Mykel to see the situation of their family. He followed Lily and approached slowly.

"Mrs. Gray, are you okay?" Mykel asked, concerned about his mother-in-law's well-being.

"I'm okay, Mykel. Thank you for being here," Mrs. Gray replied, gratitude evident on her face.
