'Another day, another dollar.'Certainly, we would all agree that it's a cliche and overused statement, but I see no other way to describe how tedious my life has been for the past eight years. Off course, it all pays off when I'm rewarded with a handsome paycheck from Megan after a job well done and this new job wasn't going to be any different.I started my job at Splash a Star right out of college and found myself moving up the ranks without much stress and problems. Even though my success in the firm was rather quick, most of my earlier years consisted of running petty errands, doing the desk work and going on assignments that my employers and seniors at the firm considered too low for agents of their calibres to embark on.Nevertheless, they still took the credit and applauds for those jobs I worked hard on. But to be honest, I think they were just being too proud and lazy to get their jobs done hence they pushed it over to the junior workers —hence, me.However, I owe my success to their lazy asses because their apathy towards work ended up as a positive thing for me. One fateful night of an open bar concert and their misplaced priorities left me with 14 new clients —which consisted of some of the most popular celebrities in the music and showbiz world. It gavw me a huge boost and I climbed up the ranks very quickly. Fast forward to eight years later and I'm as senior as they come, and one of the best in the firm. And definitely, I wasn't going to mess up this new job.The cab pulled over right in front of my apartment situated in the serene and richly Brentwood environment. After paying him, I walked into the house and went straight to the showers, freshening up from the day's job with a relaxing hour –long bubble bath that soothed my nerves. The next on the list was to get food and since I didn't like to cook very much, I ordered Chinese takeouts and enjoyed my wholesome meal of Dumplings. With a demanding job like this, I really didn't have much time for myself or anything else apart from... working.Of course, I'm proud of myself for getting this far in my career at such a young age —who wouldn't be? But the process gets stressful and tedious after a while and sometimes, I wish I could just let loose.I didn't even have friends —or as I like to say in compensation for my antisocial behavior, I didn't really have the _time_ to make friends. At this point, my best and only friend was my pink wandstick vibrator which often travels with me and it's pretty much the only thing I trust in this world. Not that I don't wish to make friends, but the nature of my job —which requires discreetness and secrecy didn't need any 'friend' trying to peer into my work life and plus, I travel too much for the to-and-fro of;"Hey Coco, we should catch up sometime when you get back from _some foreign country I've never heard of yet_""Oh yeah sure, Definitely not."Hence, all I had was the consistency of myself, my work and my trusty wandstick —when it's fully charged.I decided to get to work on Gyro; having some information about her before I start working there tomorrow would go a long way in getting this job done quickly and I knew just the right guy for the task.Lance Philips was a reliable source and we have come a long way working together on various projects and assignments together as a team. I knew him from college after he had asked out one of my roommates and she rejected him, calling him a nerdy dork who was an unfuckable virgin.Ten years later, he's still a tech -savvy, nerdy dork who is essential to my career as he helps me dig up dirt on the lives of my targets, and is most likely still a virgin.I had previously told him about the case study and asked him to gather up as much information he could find on her and I was hoping for some positive results today by the time I call him.Taking out my phone, I scrolled to his Contact ID and dialed his number. After a few rings, he picked up the phone."Hey Lance, how are you doing?" I greeted the moment he answered the phone."Very well, thank you. Have you gotten the job at Gyro's?" He inquired."Yes I have. It was successful and she picked me almost immediately she saw me, without any test or questionings of any kind.""I see. That's the Coco effect working right there." He complimented and I smiled, arching my brows at what he said."Coco effect? What's that?" I questioned, stifling a laughter."Oh, it's just the fact that you have a distinctive aura around you. You can easily get what you want and however you want it without putting in much effort." He explained and I have to admit that he was quite correct in the description, but matter of factly, he lost me at 'aura'.I don't believe in all that parapsychology shit like auras, ghosts and telepathy.I chuckled."Aura, Lance? Like seriously?? I honestly thought your dorkiness ended in college.""A leopard never changes its spots, I guess.""Okay, enough with the chit chat. I need the info on Gyro. I'm starting the job tomorrow." My tone has assumed a professional timbre and the sternness was vivid now."Oh yeah, sure. I'm afraid that there isn't much out there about her. I had tried to gather some information but the feeds on her private life are very scanty and unyielding." Lance explained and I arched my brows, puzzled and wondering why Megan would send me on an assignment to dig dirt on someone who was uninteresting and unscandalous. As if reading into my thoughts, Lance added, "However, it's not because her paths have been pure and innocent all these while. It's because whatever has been going on behind the scenes, she's been very good at covering up her tracks so no one was suspicious of her actions to put it on the net."I sighed deeply, "So you mean there's nothing you can do for me?""I'm afraid so, Coco. You'll have to figure it all out yourself.""Okay Lance, thanks for your help. I'll contact you when I get another job.""Once again, I'm sorry I couldn't be of help to you this time Coco. But I'll talk to you some other time, I'm getting another call right now." And with that, he hung up the phone.I got up from the chair and began pacing around the room. I had an inkling that something of this nature might happen because celebrities like Gyro really know how to tuck in the loose ends of their dirty secrets and it would be very hard to access them as an outsider; you have to be on the inside to know what's happening internally. And that's why I tried out to become her personal driver and thankfully, it worked.I was really excited about this job, I was going to put my all into it so that it would be yet another notch on my badge —being one of the Senior VP Investigating Agents of Splash a Star magazine wasn't a day's job and I really need to get my jobs done excellently well to be ahead of the others. However, for the meantime I was going to cut ties with the magazine and stay away from calling Megan too often, so as to not arise suspicions since I would be in close contact with Gyro.I wouldn't want to mess this up and ridicule myself and disappoint Megan by risking the expose of how our company gets its job done.I decided that it was time to get packing, so I went into my closet and began arranging my clothes and accessories into my suitcases. I really had a positive feeling about this job and I couldn't wait to see what dirt Gyro was hiding, she would never know what hit her.|•_CORVETTE_•|I woke up earlier than my usual time, don’t blame me though, I got a new job and still doing what I loved doing the most; getting dirt on people.I have no intentions of resuming late on my first day, neither do I have any intention of missing the opportunities to pick up one or two information that I could use on Gyro.I quickly had my shower and made my coffee from the coffee maker, then stepped out of the house.I arrived at the music company with a bright smile on my face, hmm… the smell of a new job.“Good morning” I chirped to the receptionist. She waved a dismissive hands at me but I ignored her and walked towards the office I was directed to as Gyro's office.“Come in” the soft voice of Gyro met my ears after I had knock.I turned the door knob and went in, keeping my composure calm.“Good morning,” I greeted and she smiled widely at me.“Good morning, erm… Coco? she trailed off, ending her sentence with a question and I rolled my eyes inwardly.“Yes, Coco.” I re
㋛︎ꨄ︎ CORVETTE ꨄ︎㋛︎In boredom I sighed, sitting on the driver seat with absolutely nothing to do. My only way of fetching out something tangible enough as an evidence to get dirt on Gyro was probably in her office. It's not even been up to a week and I'm already lacking the vigour to continue this mission, but I knew that definitely, I would fish out an evidence against Gyro. I've never failed a mission and I forbid this from being my first. Everyone at Splash a star was counting on me, the interns all looked up to me to fulfil the task at hand and teach them by example, so even though it won't be easy, I had faith that I was going to complete this job excellently. This wasn't how I imagined my first day on the job to be. It's been an hour plus since Gyro stepped out to go perform in the concert but it seems like an entire day, it definitely wouldn't be of good performance from me if I had to spend a full week here and no information about Gyro's dirty secrets was leaked out.I could
♡︎❦︎ CORVETTE ❦︎♡︎I couldn’t check the mail update from Megan due to the bad network service in the area that we where, so I made a mental note to check it out later on. However, I couldn’t shake off the thought that Megan had sent something very important. She usually conveyed information to me via calls and she texted sometimes. But she never used emails unless it’s a very serious matter and me being eager to see what it was is an understatement, I was highly anxious. Stupid network service!I started the ignition and geared the car into acceleration and began driving. It was a Black Phantom Rolls Royce — a very expensive and sophisticated vehicle and I have to admit I liked the way it felt when I drive it; I liked the feel of my feet pressing down on the gas peddle unhitched, I like the feel of smoothly maneuvering of the steering wheel and the real leather seats made my rear feel comfortable, not to mention the soft noise the tyres made plying the road. What I did not like, or rat
✔︎ꨄ︎CORVETTEꨄ︎✔︎My heart hammered loudly in my chest when the person got close to the window. I was like a deer caught in a headlight. Since the lights of the office were turned on I couldn’t hide from the person, knowing I've been seen.I moved my hands indiscreetly and I quickly hid the picture I had found. The person knocked on the window and I swallowed. I moved closer to the window and formed a brave composure like I wasn't guilty of anything.I opened the window and I smiled at the person, who I discovered soon, was one of Gyro's bodyguards.“Good evening, Miss.” He greeted. He stared at me suspiciously, but I didn’t budge, my composure was still as strong as ever.“Good evening sir” I responded smiling at him, if only he could see how my hands were shaking slightly but ‘I, Coco, has mastered the art of acting'.“Is everything okay Ma’am? I heard a scream from this place” He asked.“Oh, no, not at all. I am good” I replied.“Oh, I just thought…” He trailed off but I put my hand
☘︎☞︎︎︎CORVETTE☜︎︎︎☘︎... The next morning...Last night was indeed a breakthrough, like they say, true success only locates those who are willing to risk it to the end.Nothing good comes easy and I was very well aware of the strenuous and arduous steps I was mandated to take to ensure that my being here was not a waste and to make sure I don't fail this mission or disappoint Megan and every other person that looked up to me.Not many of them at Splash a star magazine were opportuned to take a high tensioned responsibility like this; If only they had worked harder to get a position like mine, I'm quite certain they wouldn't be under me as they are right now.My struggles weren't of milk and honey, sometimes I would think of giving up because of the gravity of the job given to me but I kept on pushing on because I was willing to win against all odds and at all costs. In front of me was Splash a Star magazine building, it was a tall glass skyscraper and it almost seemed impossible to see
༆♧︎︎︎Corvette♧︎︎︎༆I know I previously said that I didn’t have any friends and that’s true, however, I’m not about to contradict what I said earlier, but I think I do have a friend. Well, if you’d want to consider the only co-worker in Splash A Star I can actually stand and isn’t an annoying hating jealous soul or has an unlikeable character. I do make friends though; who wouldn’t want to be friends with a successful, beautiful girl like me at the first glance? However, keeping those friends is the problem for me.Sometimes, Megan sends me on jobs that includes me being situated half across the country, or continent, sometimes I’m even in a different continent as a whole. So keeping friends is a no on my part. However, Vivian is different because she’s my coworker and we have a more solid foundation to build our ‘friendship’ on. Today, Vivian was in my office and we both decided to celebrate our recent wins together now that I was back for a while since she herself just got back from
༄❁CORVETTE❁༄"Have a nice vacation" Megan said and I smiled."Thanks Megan and have a great day" I replied. With a huge sigh... a sigh of relief, I left Megan's office and shut the door behind me.Well, I guess it's time to get packing. I really need some time for myself, after all they said all work and no play makes jack a dull boy, well in this sense all work and no vacation makes Coco a dull girl."Why is she smiling like that?" I heard the voice of a colleague hit me, and I turned instinctively towards the direction."Why do you care if I am smiling or not, huh?" I asked, my voice sounding a little bit harsh but who cares, since I have stepped in here, they have been making slide remarks at me.I got no response from anyone, and the truth of the matter was that, I wasn't ready to exchange words with anyone, so I just let it slide."Are you scared of her?" I heard another whisper, which made me sigh and shook my head at how childish some adults behave."No, I'm not, I just do not w
۞❄︎CORVETTE❄︎۞"Phewwww" I let out a sigh with my back against the door. I'm exhausted and tired from all the days job, all the energy I've spent at work has drained me to the core. My experience at the train station was just so annoying, it just sprouts out this disturbing feeling of disgust at people who seemed to be fans or followers of Nicholas Hills. For the lightness of my heart I think it's best I had just forget whatever happened at that train station and let go of this emotional rage I feel inside. But why exactly are some humans so uncultured, so many of these people lack decency. It would be rather called stereotyping if I say fans of Nicholas are as rude and indecent as he is.It wouldn't have hurt for that young man to apologize or atleast display some attitude of remorse for his inappropriate action. Nevertheless I was so excited to go on my cheap and affordable vacation on Iski island. The article I read about Iski island clearly stated it was situated off the coast of
