Okay guys, I'm sorry but I actually thought it would be just one more chapter left. I had to stop here because it was getting quite lengthy. The next chapter is something you need to look forward to, dear readers. It would mark the official end of the book. But of course there will be an epilogue too. Meanwhile, something is cooking in the oven. I'm concocting a wonderful new story just for you beautiful readers. Psst!!! It's going to be sizzling passion and romance all the way. I'm so excited for you all to read it. As usual, it's going to have lots of twists and turns, but it would be more of an urban setting than Dream wake. Get ready . . . Sending peace and love your way. 💕💞💕 Jirogzy ❤
Chapter 41EyareOne hour was almost up and I was yet to come to a decision. It was a difficult decision to take after all.If I agreed to do it, not only would I be adhering to some strange religion, I would also be letting my father down who abolished all forms of paganism. And then they might also bring another hurdle my way.If on the other hand I disagreed, they would do all in their power to stop me from becoming king.I felt stuck.Try as much as I could, I couldn't think of a way out of this mess. I joined mother in pacing.I was damned if I did, damned if I didn't.The time was up. The one hour I had given came and went. The high chiefs began to file in one by one. When they were seated, Chief Idionsere stood up and addressed me."So my prince, have you come to a decision yet?" I looked at each of the chief's faces individually. They all seemed pleased with themselves.I had definitely come to a decision.I would definitely not partake in such ungodly, unholy fetish tradition.
EyareAs I lay on the deck chair soaking some sun into my body, I reminisced on times past.Osagiede told me black people don't sun themselves - that we're already black. I disagreed with her there. All creatures black and white needed the sun for sustenainance.Sea gulls screeched overhead, their white wings fluttering as they craned their long graceful necks. They really were beautiful creatures.Maldives was a beautiful place with white clean sea shores and water so clear and blue, you could actually see deep below.Eseosa ran around in a one - piece bathing suit, her two hands high on either side of her. She made a noise like the sound of a plane. When she saw me watching her, she rushed to me."Daddy, come and play with me." She began to drag me up from the chair and I reluctantly got up and joined her. I knew I looked silly, but I needed do what my little princess wanted. At three years old, she was a force to be reckoned with.I heard someone laughing and I looked up to see Osag
Hi guys, when I was writing this story, I didn't think for once it would be a story about an heir to the throne. Truth is, as I write, inspiration comes to me.My Edo name is actually Osagiede and I decided to use it for my female character. No, I'm not married yet, neither would I do what she did to my husband, like at all. Lol.So inspiration struck me to make Eyare as the next king or Oba, if you like.So here are a few truths about the Oba of Benin and how powerful he is:1.) The Oba of Benin is seen as the most powerful man in Benin and possibly, in the whole of Nigeria.A lie, you say?Well, he once left former President Good luck Jonathan sitting and waiting for him for about fifteen minutes. Even then, he never came out.A court messenger was sent to former president Goodluck to tell him to meet with the Oba in his private chambers due to circumstances beyond his control.2.) When he is seen in public, he always has a white handkerchief covering his mouth, same with his wives.
Chapter 1EyarePeople say I'm handsome; I tend to believe them too. In a crowd of young men, I'm easily picked out.I've gotten many advances from the females, why, I've even broken a few hearts, not intentionally though.I was in my last year at the university when I saw her; she was what you call the girl next door; Beautiful, with a sweet demeanor.I bumped into her in the cafeteria where she was with a group of giggly girls and I watched as they chose some seats, then I made my move, walking up to them with my killer smile."Hi ladies, may I join you?"They all stopped what they were doing and looked up to see who had dared interrupt their girly talk.I could almost hear their minds spinning furiously. It seemed I was under some inspection. Then she spoke up. "Sure”, and with a smile. "Join us." Immediately, I sat beside her."I'm Eyare," and a chorus of 'HI’s were replies to my greeting. Now I must add here; in Pan university, if a girl says hi to you, know you've scored big tim
Chapter 2OsagiedeThey say there's a thin line between love and hate.I'm living that very line as I pen my side of the story.Ever since we came back from our honey moon, Eyare began acting strangely ---- blowing hot and cold. It was always one criticism after the other, nothing I did was right by him. Gone was the loving man who wooed me at the very beginning.Nothing I did pleased him – he’d turned into a complete grouch. As I flopped into the high-backed chair, tired out after a series of meetings, I tried to stifle my bitter thoughts of him. Resentment rose unbidden, and just like bile, it tasted bitter. Raising tired fingers to my lips, I stifled a yawn and looked at the watch on my wrist.A gasp escaped me as I noticed the time. I hadn't realised how late it was.Eyare would be furious with me.I sighed as I sunk my head into my hands, hoping not for the first time I hadn't made a big mistake by marrying him.Oh well, the way you lay your bed is how you'll lie on it, right?I
Chapter 3GeoffreyThe pencil made a tap - tap noise as it repeatedly struck the table, leaving tiny dents in its wake.I scanned the newspaper in my hands, my eyes moving rapidly from one line to another, sometimes skipping large chunks of information in a bid to get to that one important piece. I hoped I wasn't going to skip it with the way I was going.I decided to use my fingers to aid my eyes, as they traced the fine print.And. . . finally. My hands stilled on some particular words.Below it was a full blown picture of some executives of a company. As I gazed at the picture, my eyes rested on one figure in particular -- a woman in a trouser suit.I smiled, but it didn't contain any warmth.Throwing the newspaper to one side, l opened the laptop that was idling by on the table and began searching the internet. I clicked on LinkedIn application, and searched for a name and face.Thereafter, I checked Facebook to gai
Chapter 4EyareYou can run and you can hide, but I will eventually catch you . . . Destiny! It was on the dark side of twilight as I pulled up in the driveway. Dark clouds hung heavy in the sky like gigantic cobwebs. It looked like rain.Light spilled out from the kitchen windows, casting a bright glow on the otherwise dark driveway. I couldn't wait to get out of the dark and into the light. I was sure Osagiede was still up.Piercing pain shot into my waist as I bent to take my briefcase and jacket from the back seat of my car. It had been a long tedious day. I was just glad it was over.As I walked to the front door, my shoes made a crunch - crunch noise as it came in contact with the gravel beneath it. I had always loved the sound so I dug my heels in further, revelling in it.I fished out my keys and slotted it into the key hole, but the door swung open of its own accord. That's odd! Someone must have gotten inside in a hurry.I looked around as I made my way to the foyer, noticin
Chapter 5We will meet eventually - Destiny beckons.E Y A R EThey say marriage gets easier as the days progress, but I've got to tell you, my case is different.Osagiede got on my nerves over the next few days, so much that I decided to take my mum up on her words, not to ascend the throne --- definitely not. More like travel to my home town instead and make a holiday out of it.After booking a flight to Benin, I began tidying up things at the office. Not having anyone to take over the reigns was definitely going to put a strain on my business, but I was able to leave the few things left in the capable hands of my secretary. The flight home was peaceful, save for the intermittent dismal weather reports on the tiny Tv in front of me, so I switched it off.Once in Benin, I collected my small luggage, passed through customs and the usual airport issues and made my way outside. There the family driver stood, a bit more grey around the beards, but still the same jovial man I remembered h
