Chapter 1
A year ago... All Serena could do was watch from a distance. The longing, the extreme ache to be with him nearly killed her, like knives that had been stabbed repeatedly over and over again as she watched the only thing that owned her heart. His tousled raven black hair that felt soft to her fingertips, his piercing sky blue eyes that made her weak in the knees, his muscular frame that she loved to explore with her hands and that smile, that goddamn smile that could get him out of trouble... He was a work of art, a fine masterpiece. He was simply beautiful in Serena's eyes. And he was hers, her mate, Travis. But why would Serena be sad at the very sight of her mate? As she watched Travis from her usual table in the school's cafeteria, she could see that he looked happy; he was laughing with his friends - the popular kids all boisterous without a care in the world - but when his lips curled up into that breath-taking smile, she frowned. That smile wasn't directed at her. In fa

Chapter 2
Travis only stood there and watched Serena run away from him in the pouring rain. He was frozen, not able to move a muscle, but in his mind, he wanted to go after her and do what she asked of him. But, for some reason, he just couldn't make his legs move a step forward and run after his mate. It was like an unknown force had a tight hold of his legs and as much as he wanted to move, he just couldn't do it at all. He couldn't believe that what he had feared the most had come true. He thought that while he had Serena on a tight grip, she wouldn't leave. He did everything possible to make her stay, but he was wrong. His selfishness made Serena slip out of his grasp. He was so foolish... so damn foolish, it was surreal. "I really screwed up this time," he muttered, very disappointed with himself. The rain had drenched his clothes and the weight of it made him feel as though he was carrying the burden of the world. Right now, he felt what Atlas went through when he carried the world o

Chapter 3
Travis stood in front of his mansion's front door with a blank stare. He looked like shit; his shirt was soaked to the skin, his jeans were caked with mud, and yet he couldn't care less on what he looked like right now. All he knew was that he felt dead, lifeless and if it was possible, he felt like his life had no meaning or purpose. Series of thoughts fleeted in his mind, and unfortunately, none of them made sense at the moment, but the only thing that stood out was the need to vent out. He was on edge, angry and most of all, he felt like destroying something. He was like a bull ready to charge on the matador. With that rage stirring in him, he flung the front door open with bang and there, he had the perfect idea for letting out his rage. He was going to trash the fucking place up. A wicked grin spread across Travis lips when he charged towards the first thing he had his sights on - a 200 year old grandfather clock. His dad had a thing for the classicist and rustic furnishing.

Chapter 4
The sound of rustling had Serena jolt out of her slumber, making her stay upright and on high alert. Her heart was thumping on an irregular rate and probable thoughts of an ambush crossed her mind. "Who's there?" Serena asked as she scanned the woods with keen eyes for anything threatening. She took notice that it was morning and the rain had finally stopped. She could still smell that lingering scent of the recent downpour as it flooded her nose. "Anyone out there?" she asked again, and when she heard a twig snap, her sensitive hearing zoned in on it, detecting its position. 'To the right,' she thought, and with that, she darted to that direction like a predator would hunt their prey and while she was at it, she took a quick sniff. The scent was a mix of leather and cinnamon, which she thought was not a bad smell, but she had to be sure. She had to know if it was a werewolf that made the sound or not, so she sniffed again. There was no distinct scent of a wolf underneath it. It

Chapter 5
Serena's father, Nathaniel, was worried sick. He was in the living room, pacing back and forth as his towering frame tore through the carpeted floor, thinking about his beloved daughter. It had been over a day and she hadn't come home like she was supposed to. He thought maybe she stayed at her best friend, Conrad, house for a sleepover,, but when he called to ask him, Conrad said she was not with him. Although when he mentioned that Serena left school all of a sudden and never attended the rest of her classes, that made his worries triple to the highest heavens.Where on Earth could she be?As Nathaniel continued to pace about in the spacious living room, the scent of his oldest son, Sean, entered his nostrils. He had asked him to search for her around the entire territory since her disappearance and hopefully he would bear good news."Dad?" a deep yet husky voice that belonged to his son brought his pacing to a stop.Nathaniel halted his pacing and faced Sean."Any luck, son?" he as

Chapter 6
Travis needed a plan, a damn good one at that. He never felt this incompetent in his entire life, and knowing he had Alpha blood running through his veins, he felt that he was being used as a puppet all along by his father. He couldn't believe that a father would treat his own son, much less the future inheritor of the Alpha seat of Crimson Moon pack, but what did he expect? The man was heartless, a complete bastard that only cared for the pack's legacy. Travis' father was not joking when he said he was being watched, every move he made was duly noted and reported straight to the Alpha personally. With that, he needed an outsider, someone not from his pack to aid him with his search for Serena. Even if he would leave his pack, chances of him getting out were slim, so he needed to be careful. He had to make sure that his means of communication were an untraceable and unlinkable form of technology and that would at least give him an edge against his father. As he buttoned his black

One year later... Sean felt like giving up, surrendering to defeat. It had been a year now, and so far in his search he couldn't find his sister. He used the sibling bond to track her down, but as months passed, it had become weak to non-existent and that worried him a great deal. He wouldn't dare go to 'What If's' scenarios, because deep within his gut, Serena is still alive; but it aggravated him that she couldn't be found as though she dropped off the face of the Earth. 'Serena, where the fuck are you?' Sean thought angrily. As he looked around the woods he was in, he knew he was in another territory, miles away from home, but the disintegration pill he took - courtesy of his dad's military friend - masked his distinct scent and could pass himself as a human; even though the pill would only last for a day so he would need to pop another one when the 24 hours was up. The downside of the pill was that he couldn't use his full strength, but he didn't mind. As lo

Sean ran as fast as his sturdy legs could carry him. He ran, and ran non-stop, his prime objective forgotten as he pushed his body to the limits for he knew he needed to hurry the hell up for time was not in his favor. It was a good thing that the 24 hours was almost up for he could feel his strength coming back in gradual increments. The scent disintegration pill was waning and in a few hours tops, he could blur like the wind and chomped the distance from where he was in to homeward bound. He couldn't care less if he was setting himself up for danger. That was the least of his damn problems as of the moment. At the back of his mind, Sean wanted to believe that Travis was lying, that his father wasn't dying but death wasn't something to be messed with. Only a fool would joke about someone on the brink of being six feet below the ground and Travis wasn't one. From his grave tone, he spoke the utter truth and that had Sean choking on his own spit, not abl

Chapter 9
"What's going on, Phil?" Serena asked, following Phil in the direction back to their house. It was the afternoon, when the sun was high up in the sky, and the sun rays were beating down on their skin. Each step as she tried to catch up with him, the sound of crunching leaves they had stepped on was audible in their haste. "Is there something wrong?" Phil didn't answer Serena back. He was too far deep into his mind thinking who breached his security measures. He thought his technology was impressive, seeing he got it from the best sources he could find. It was made like Fort Knox, and whoever broke through the defenses must be a hard ass. A genius hard ass. “It's impossible...” he murmured, still not believing it. “It can't be possible. No way...” “Phil,” Serena called out to him. He was a bit far ahead from her now. For a human, he could walk fast. “Philly, hold up!” Serena gritted her teeth out of
