Olivia's Pov

I stood in the dimly lit room, tears streaming down my face, as I reached out for my dad's embrace. He stood just a few feet away, his back turned to me, seemingly distant despite our physical proximity. My heart ached with a mixture of regret and sadness as I struggled to find the right words to convey my deep remorse.

"Dad," I whispered, my voice trembling. "I'm so sorry... I'm sorry for ever thinking that you... that you killed Mom."

Silence hung heavy in the air, amplifying the weight of my words. The room seemed to echo with my confession, and my dad's shoulders tensed at my admission. I could sense his internal struggle, the resentment simmering just beneath the surface.

"Why didn't you ever tell me what happened?" I continued, my voice wavering. "I never asked because I was scared to know the truth. But now... now I understand how much that hurt you. How much it hurt both of us."
