Chapter 3: Lily's POV

Chapter 3: Lily POV

Alpha Xander stood there, still at my words. He was clearly not expecting it. His body slowly retreated from mine and he peered at me like the creepy man did earlier— as if I had gone mad.

Of course, his reaction was justified because Lisa in the book could never admit boldly to cheating on him but there was a reason for my bold and fearless provocation:

In the novel, before the omega Anna meets Alpha Xander, Xander had caught his mate, Lisa, cheating on him, as the current scene in this dream. However, Lisa, being the malicious but sly villainess, was able to maneuver her way into Xander’s head by pretending to be innocent and pathetic; she had managed to convince him and let it slide that time. I was definitely pissed off when I read the scene.

“Yes, I cheated on you, so what?” I repeated, placing a stress on ‘so what’ and crossed my arms over my chest, awaiting his next reaction.

Now that I was seemingly acting the role of Lisa, there was no way I was going to trick him and cause so much problem for his and Anna’s future relationship.

I was taken aback as Alpha Xander charged at me and gripped my hair before pinning me to the wall again. “Do you realize you’re messing with fire?” He said in a low growl. His emerald eyes had turned stone cold with a glare that warmed me against the mess I was placing myself in.

I swallowed audibly and my hands became numb from the fear that sprang in me.

“Why did you do it?” he said through gritted teeth, a strange emotion I couldn’t describe flashed over his eyes. “You thought cheating on me was a great idea?” he hollered in my face.

I bit on my bottom lip. His hard sweaty chest heaving harshly against mine and the way his other fisted hand clenched with veins popping out of his skin expressed how much he was holding his rage in. It was clear that he was going to completely lose it anytime from now.

Maybe I should justify myself? He looked like he could kill me with just a punch. I opened my mouth to defend myself but snapped them shut again. This is just a dream, there was no point in justifying myself.

What if my dream could have an effect in the actual story? I wasn’t going to be the bad villainess I’ve always hated. I felt like I related to the omega, Anna, so much. I had always been weak and bullied in real life, though I never hurt anyone, not even a fly. Anna was also bullied as an omega even though she was the sweetest female lead I had ever read about.

Since I was being Lisa for some reason, I could confess my sin and give this story and Anna the happy ending she deserves. Helping Anna out was like saving myself because she didn’t deserve any of Lisa’s wicked actions.

With these thoughts in my mind, I continued my confession. Gazing directly into the angry Alpha’s eyes, I held my chin up to blurt out Lisa’s sins. “Yes, I thought cheating on you was a great idea. I don’t care about how you feel or whatever it is that you do.” Whoa, where did this boldness come from? I was really timid in reality, and could barely utter two words to anyone without stuttering, but here I was, ignoring the fuming man standing in front of me that looked like he was twice my size and continued lashing my words right at his face, making sure to paint Lisa for the terrible character age was.

He grasped my arms, pulling me even closer like doing that was going to make me feel threatened and apologize.

The feeling of his member pressing on my body made me feel giddy but I tried to not let it faze me. “Do whatever you want to do. It changes nothing. I will always be Lisa White and can never be faithful to you!” I exclaimed, pouring out my anger towards Lisa into my speech.

And just like that, I threw down a provocation on him. Though I was being Lisa’s character, I didn’t want to use the “play the innocent” method she had done in the book to get away from this. Instead, I wished to make Lisa pay for cheating and trying to ruin Anna and Xander’s relationship.

“Lisa White, you’ve crossed the line today.” His eyes seared with intense hatred and fury being darted at me. “You—"

His barking was interrupted by the creepy man's low groan as he slowly shifted on the ground, flinching in pain.

When his eyes landed on me and Alpha’s posture, he retreated backwards, quaking in fear. “Alpha, please don’t punish me. I promise you that I’m innocent.” He went on his knees. “S-she seduced me. I… I… didn’t know she was… I swear, it was all her fault. She made me do this, she scared me and cajoled me into this against my will. This isn’t the first time she’s doing this. She had to make sure I couldn’t resist her and made me neglect my responsibilities just to satisfy her dirty sexual desires. I can never betray you Alpha, I promise.” His voice rang with desperation and mostly panic.

Alpha stared back at me with angrier eyes. “Is he saying the truth?” he demanded.

“I-I don’t....” I had absolutely no idea whether or not he was telling the truth. I didn’t remember this part of the story.

“Tell me!” I flinched at the loudness of his voice.

“Yes, I am telling the truth, Alpha. I couldn’t possibly be lying to you.” The man added.

Alpha’s face had reddened, his muscles tightened underneath his skin.

I managed to slip my arms out of his grip, stepping away from him but he moved even closer.

“I-I can explain that,” I tried to sound convincing.

“Explain what exactly? I need a yes or no. Is he lying?” He asked, his voice was surprisingly very low and that scared me even more.

“I’m definitely not lying. She’s nothing but a fucking slut.” The creepy man said.

Alpha’s head snapped back to him and he let out another growl.

“Wh-what? N-no… I didn’t .” The man tried to explain but Xander seemed way too mad to listen and raised a hand, demanding that the man kept quiet. The man became absolutely silent under Alpha Xander's unspoken command and started quivering in fear.

A few men in a uniformed outfit rushed into the room and headed to the shivering man.

Realizing I was still half naked, I glanced around and noticed a large shirt by the headboard. I quickly rushed over to it and picked it up, throwing it over my body. It ended mid-thigh and I assumed it belonged to the creepy man since he was very tall too.

“Please Alpha, I didn’t mean to call her a whore!” he apologized as the men tried to pull him away. He held onto the edge of the bedframe to stop them from pulling him away.

It clearly made them mad and one of them punched the creepy man in the face. He still didn’t let go of the bed and stared at Alpha Xander’s merciless green eyes. “Please have mercy on me, I promise it was a mistake.” He begged.

Xander cast a glare at the guards and they immediately increased their effort and started dragging the man out.

Seeing this creepy man being dragged out made me feel terrible because they were obviously going to beat him up. And the Alpha Xander I knew in the book could even order them to kill the man. He was probably innocent.

Xander strutted over to me with clenched fists, his eyes had become very dark and his steps were heavy as he approached me.

I stepped back till the back of my leg hit a table.

He stopped in front of me and held my wrist, dragging me out of the room with him.

“Ouch!” I winced from the harsh pain in my wrist as he pulled me out. “You’re hurting me!” I informed me, trying to pull my wrist free from his grip with my other hand but to no avail. I hissed at the tightness to get his attention. Instead, he was deaf to my sounds. He only seemed to care about where he was taking me to.

I realized something didn’t feel right. The way he beat the man up, his anger, and my strange emotions, felt too realistic and most importantly, I wasn’t supposed to feel pain if it was a dream, but his tight grip of my hand hurt so much. This all felt too real.

My heart was thumping heavily in my chest and my mind was in chaos. I couldn’t help the strong urge to tell him the truth. ‘I’m not Villainess Lisa, I’m just a reader and don't know how I got here.’  I could only say that in my mind. When I attempted to shout it to him, an indescribable force forbade me from saying that and I couldn't tell him the truth no matter how hard I tried to. Oh no, what the heck was happening?!
