CHAPTER 5–– THE DRAMA PART 1!

I am shocked and that’s not even the start as I looked at my parents being all lovey-dovey to Mr. Alexeev, now alexander.

Wonders, wonders.

This guy who came with me to meet my parents cannot be the boss I met in the last some days. He is being all sweet to them, honestly happy with them and is even joking with them.

“Marwick, I really wonder how she is even your daughter, I mean, she is beautiful and everything, but she surely doesn’t have your vibes.” Hahaha. And with lots of laughter everyone was laughing and having fun while I was still feeling a little guilty as-of-yet because soon, if they continued to laugh at my expense, I am going to forget all the guilt.

“Alexander, please taste this pie also.” My mom said and handed him the pie as she smiled meaningfully, and I shuddered. This is so not going well if he didn’t notice the part, she wants him to.

“Hey, why aren’t you eating this pie? Don’t you love this one the most?” Alexander asked me with the most innocent look and even placed it in my plate for me to taste but before I could, he used his spoon to feed me. I suddenly feel I might have to change my own favorite.

“…” I never told him my likes; I am so sure of that.

“I know you never told me, but you always buy this in your lunch, every single day.” He sure did a thorough research and no, I don’t feel warm at all rather all I felt was how scheming he is.

“I will eat the rest myself…” Alexeev looked a little sad as I dug into my food and slowly noticed that the guy looked sad and my parents visibly a little sad too.

“Amelia––” My dad started to speak when Alexeev held my hand and said “It’s fine, Marwick, she just agreed to my proposal, and I think we will cultivate feelings slowly. I will show her how I feel, and I don’t want her to be forced into all of this. She will surely notice my effort and she does. You do, right?” Alexander words made me shocked as they were acted thoroughly, and I would have truly believed it if it weren’t for his tight grip that urged me to nod and smile.

I nodded at him, and he finally stopped looking at me and smiled at my father who noticed the ay he was holding my hand.

Alexeev finally let go of my hand and my dad sighed in relief for his daughter is with a guy who wants to try and even knows how to take care of me.

Pfft! Dad, this guy could win an Oscar for the acting part.

We all are so going to regret it.

“I think I should leave now. It’s pretty late.” Alexeev hugged me and touched my forehead with his, legging me go in seconds before h smiled at my parents and nodded at them.

My father and mother too sweetly dropped him to the door and made sure to let him know that they liked him.

That effort line won them.

Too scheming.

I stood behind my parents when Alexeev turned to look at me and smiled at me while waving at my parents.

He left in his car and my parents turned to look at me with the most inquiring gaze ever.

“Let me explain, my lord.”

“Please start.”

And thus, I started from how I and Alexander Alexeev with the middle name ‘Atticus’ who was my Boss started liking me.

“According to him, it was love at sight and he proposed after two days of working and I don’t know why, I agreed.”

My mom nodded and my dad looked in deep thoughts and finally both told me to do whatever I want and only love someone when I am totally sure of it to not hurt others and myself.

And I felt a little guilty again. This love won’t even last for a year.

“Miss. Carter, in my office. Right now!”

And I think is really ending before even a year.

“Yes sir?”

“Kindly explain.”

My boss stood leaning on his desk with his ever-so-angry expression, and I smiled.

Isn’t this easy?

“Why is your score so low?!” He said while throwing his hand in the air as he held the paper, he gave me to complete which has his likes and dislikes as question.

Well, told you, he is crazy.

“You don’t really expect me to score a 100, do you?” I said as I stepped back a little. I stepped back because the space between us was too small, and it wasn’t because I feared him killing me.

I don’t fear anything after breaking his nose and hitting him where the sun doesn’t shine.

“You scored just 70! My mom would never believe in us with this.” He shouted again as he massaged one of his hands on his forehead.

“That’s already too much, I know you more than I ever knew about my ex! And mind you, I was with him for four years.” Just the ending isn’t worth knowing about.

“But you broke up.” This smugness could get you killed.

“Because he cheated.”

“Well of course he would. You didn’t even know much about him.” Let me kill him, just once.

“He wanted to make it big and so, he ran to his ex who could give him that big! Happy knowing it?” I finally shouted at him but honestly, I didn’t feel all that angry while saying it. It was just weird how it didn’t feel bad at all.

“Fine, I understand. But can you just score above 90? 70 is way too low.” Mr. Alexeev sighed.

“Mr. Alexeev, we are acting in love, not in a show where we have to know the likes and dislikes or score a 100. We just have to look at each other and get lost in each other.” God, do I have to teach him about this?

“Fine, act like you love me then.”

“Now? Fine with me.” I walked towards him and just stared in his angry eyes.

My hand touched his face lightly and his stubble itched while his eyes looked in mine when the door to the office opened and we froze because Alexeev whispered.

“Mom.”

And the drama begins.
