CHAPTER 7–– WORTH A MILLION!

“Amy! Pick me up! Pick me up!” Little Clara shouted as she raised her hands towards me and jumped a little to hurry me up.

As soon as I picked her up, she looked at other kids and raised her chin causing everyone around to laugh.

“Amy, are you really going to marry Uncle Alex?” why am I being asked the same question every time a child comes close to me?

“We are dating right now, so, not sure yet.” As soon as I said and held her close, a hand touched my back, and another covered my hand which was holding little Clara.

Alexander who came from behind very lovingly said “It just mean your Uncle Alex has to try harder to let Amy become a family. But Clara, I will need you help in doing so, will you help me?”

Clara raised her hands towards Alexander and wiggled in my arms and Alexander picked her up and threw her up in the air causing her to squeal.

Clara bent her head down and whispered something in Alexander’s ear while looking at me fugitively. Alexander smiled and nodded at her while whispering something to her.

The pair kept doing this while looking at me with smile every now and then while Clara who was being held covered her mouth and squealed with delight after a while and looked at me and said, “I really like you, Amy!”

“How cute!” Sophia said as she stood on my other side and finally took my hand to take me to the middle of dance where many of them were dancing.

“Isn’t she cute?! I really love her. You know Alex and her, they both are super close as well. Actually, Alex is close to every kid in here. Being the eldest out of the four really taught him how to take care of kids.” Sophia said as she danced and twirled me.

“You know, Amy, when everyone invited me to the family dinner and told me the reason, I thought it’s just going to be another disaster but then we saw you and you know, you felt so right. Please fall for him, Amy. It would be so beautiful to have you in the family.” She again smiled and another emotion overwhelmed me again as I bit my tongue and nodded at her.

“Dance with me ladies!” Zeno, younger brother of Alexander, came and danced with us all the while making gestures at Sophia who then brought Victoria to the dance, and everyone continued doing so until all the children and everybody were dancing.

Finally, the song ended, and Alexander came to my side and the dinner took place.

“She is definitely worth a million brother.” Zeno said to Alexander and others laughed while nodding their heads.

“She definitely does.” Alexander said and there was no lie. I am worth that much to him.

“Woooo!”  Everyone hooted and Alexander held my hand causing a different flush on my face.

“But hey, Amelia, our brother is the best you can get. Keep a hold on him.” Another one of the cousins spoke while all of them laughed.

Soon after, everyone got ready to retire to their rooms while Alexander took my hand in his and took me to his room.

“So, enjoyed it?” he asked.

“Hmm.” I answered.

“Sigh. What happened? You were looking sad since the dance.” With a sigh, he sat down in front of me.

“I don’t want to hurt them. They are so, so nice to me and I am lying to them. You know, all of them praised you. Nobody, mot even one said anything bad. Each of them was like shopkeepers selling the best product to me. I don’t want to lie to them.”

“But you don’t have the money to not lie.”

“Ha-ha.”

“Amy––”

“Amelia.”

“Fine, Amelia, this will end soon. I promise and no one will be hurt. People date and they end too. We won’t hurt them. I am promising you that.” He said as he held my hand in his.

“Oh right, back to business. You will be sleeping with Sophia and please make sure she falls in love with you. That girl, once she loves you, everybody loves you. Just act yourself.” He said and something, very small and light burst in my heart and burdened it down.

“Hm.” He smiled and showed me where his cousin’s room was.

As soon as he knocked and the door opened, he leaned to kiss me on the cheek while Sophia who was ready in Pajama’s looked at Alexander with a smirk.

“Good night, Amy.” He smiled at me.

“Good night.” I whispered still in shock from the kiss while he smiled at me and left.

Sophia looked at me and whistled. She smiled and pulled me in.

“Aren’t you the cutest! You blushed so much at this. So, how did it come to this?” Sophia asked she laid on the bed beside me.

“I don’t know, ask him.”

“Why?! Tell me!”

“Nope, good night.” I smiled at her scrunched face and pulled my blanket up when she pulled it down and asked me again.

“Don’t do this. Tell me.”

“No, I am tired.” I did a little yawn when she again pulled the blanked down and finally, I sighed and said “We met, he saw me, I was single, and he know it. He proposed we date and if I like it, we will settle down.”

“Wow! I could never imagine Alex asking someone to marry him.”

“No marry, date.”

“That’s same.”

“Welcome to the famiglia, Amelia.” Sophia smiled and we started talking about stuff. And while talking, we slept and being honest, it felt so nice.

I again wondered in my dreams, if it were really true, I would be so happy.

And Alexander Alexeev is a liar, he said they were stubborn and hard-headed, but they seem so nice. Well, one who has doesn’t care and one who doesn’t do.

Thinking of selling the kidney was a bad idea, truly.
