As soon as we entered the dance floor Alpha Lucas put his arm around my waist and pulled me flush against his chest. And he never stops staring into my eyes, the whole time he has his arms around me.

“So, why have I never seen you at these Alpha Balls?” He asked.

“Maybe you haven’t been looking hard enough.” I said.

“I definitely would have noticed you before this.” He said.

“I don’t come to all of them.” I said.

“Why not?” He asked.

“Because I hate them. Your girlfriend looks jealous.” I said. And he looked over his shoulder at the girl that he brought to the Ball.

“She’s not my girlfriend.” He said.

“Does she know that?” I asked.

“I’ve made my feelings clear. She’s just a…distraction.” He said. He tightens his grip around me and my breath hitches slightly, taking me a little off guard.

Shake it off Meadow. You don’t usually get so affected by one guy. No matter how attractive they are.
