Irene’s POV. I woke up to the warm kisses of my darling husband. As I opened my eyes, he kissed my lips again with a sweet smile on his face. “Hey mama”, he leaned away and took off his cufflinks. “You went out? Why all dressed?” I yawned lazily as I sat up. Damien smiled without words and walked into the closet to get changed. I got out of bed and noticed I had messed up the sheets. Damien laughed and cuddled me tightly. He held me close to himself like I was going to sneak off as soon as he left me. “You didn’t answer me baby” he whispered to my ears. “How are you feeling? Are you cramping?” He asked with all concern in his voice. I adjusted myself in his arms till I felt comfortable. “No daddy! I barely feel anything “. Damien gently touched my abdomen and caressed as his hands were in direct contact with my skin. I slept off earlier than our bed time and it made waking up early easier. At 3:49 am the next day, I woke up. I gently took my husband’s hand off my breast and walked to the bathroom. I got back from the bathroom and stared at how peaceful my husband was sleeping. He looked totally harmless and cute. I turned on the lights and tried to click a picture when he moved his eyelids. Damien smiled from his sleep without opening his eyes. I took a picture regardless but as I was about to click the next picture, he made a pose with his fingers.

“Hey!! Why are you two fighting over my best friend’s baby?” I joined their argument. “You should give a grand kid too” my dad fired back. With just one statement, I was off track. I laughed and listened to them argue over and over. After a while, my dad turned his attention to me. “ Irene, how is your husband? Tears ran down my face as I watched the final session of the interview. I couldn’t understand how the universe found me fortunate enough to have a god for a husband. ANNABEL’S POV. “Good morning baby”, Joses kissed my cheeks with a warm smile on his face. I stretched my hands and yawned tiredly. “Good morning “ I responded. I was living my best three days after Damien almost ruined my life. I noticed he had brought me breakfast and I smiled warmly as I took it from him. Joses left to get my vitamins. After trying all I could to get Jose back, I finally got the idea. All he wanted was money to get a yacht. I called in my lawyer and made a few of my properties up for sale. In two days, I got a buyer and signed the necessary documents. I called Joses. He eventually agreed to meet me. As soon as he walked in, I handed him the check he needed for his yacht. Damien went berserk when the police informed him about the accident. He yelled “my wife and my baby!”. Damien moved past the police and I followed him. We got to the scene and it was Irene’s car. My hands were shaking, my whole body was covered with goosebumps. Damien rushed through the police and got to the car. He banged the car and cried in frustration. I walked to him and held his hand. The paramedics helped in bringing out chole. She had a few cuts from the glass but she passed out. They carried her to the other ambulance. The other team brought out my sister and it was bad. Very bad. She was bleeding everywhere and it was very obvious that she had broken bones. Damien squeezed my hand as he saw his wife. We were restricted by the police from coming closer to her. It has been five days and a case has already been filed. Cole had given his testimony and Raymond had submitted the cctv footage to my lawyer as evidence. Chole had been discharged and she was staying at Irene's father's house with Cole and Madison. I was still at the hospital with my wife, watching up every morning expecting her to breathe and call my name. I looked outside the window and sighed heavily. My life was going through circles. I feared Irene would leave me the same way Sylvia did. I was confused and scared. The doctor has been assuring me since day one that she would be fine. It was almost a week, five working days and she has been the same. “Good morning Mr Damien '' , I heard Cole’s voice. He walked in with a simple smile and a food flask. “You didn’t have to bro” I responded weakly. He dropped the flask by the drawer and sat next to Irene. “You didn’t eat last night. The music stopped as soon as she got to the altar. She stood in front of me and I could tell that she was blushing. I took her hands as directed by the officiating priest and it was time to exchange our wedding vows. I took a deep breath and looked at all the guests present.
