Meeting Elliot Stone Again

Elliot possessed an extraordinary handsomeness and an impressive demeanor that set him apart from his peers. He effortlessly stood out in any crowd, leaving a lasting impression with every stroke of his facial features.

It had been six years since Avery last laid eyes on him, but time had seemingly left no marks on his face. He appeared ageless, exuding an even greater sense of calm and handsomeness. Elliot had always been attractive and impressive, but now he seemed even more captivating.

Avery was taken aback by his sudden presence, momentarily stunned. As she gathered her senses, she noticed her two children running off in the distance, laughing and carefree. Normally, such a sight would warm Avery's heart, but this time, they were heading straight toward Elliot.

Her heart skipped a beat, and unable to shout out to stop them, she swiftly moved forward with agility. She intercepted the children, shielding them from Elliot's view, and held them tightly in her arms, just like a mother hen protecting her chicks.

The people around her were puzzled by her actions, while the two little ones struggled in confusion, unable to understand what was happening. Avery stole a glance at Elliot, standing a few feet away, relieved to see that his back was turned towards her. Thankfully, he hadn't noticed the commotion happening behind him.

If Elliot discovered the striking resemblance between these children and himself, Avery knew her life would be thrown into chaos.

"Mummy, what's wrong? I can't breathe," Daisy sullenly voiced her discomfort.

Avery concealed her apprehension, lowering her coffee-colored fisherman hat to hide her face further. She adjusted her sunglasses and reassured the children, "It's okay, you were running too fast. Mommy was worried that you might get lost in the crowd."

"Mommy, I'm sorry for making you worried."

"Mommy, next time, my brother and I will stay close to you. Let's go quickly..."

...

Outside the airport, a black Rolls-Royce was parked firmly by the roadside. A handsome man stood there, engrossed in the medical news on his phone, wearing a serious expression. His assistant waited respectfully by his side.

The most renowned female medical expert in Wyoming was scheduled to arrive at one o'clock that afternoon. She was known for her mysterious nature, rarely appearing in public and specializing in treating various challenging diseases.

Daniel's condition was complex, and even if a suitable bone marrow match was found, the subsequent surgery posed a significant challenge. Elliot needed the expertise of this doctor for his son.

However, with the dispersal of the crowd, he couldn't locate the expert who was supposed to arrive that day. Frustrated, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number, his face darkening. "Luke, if you fail to investigate and provide accurate information, I'll send you to the headquarters in Africa."

Avery remained tense as she tightly held the hands of her two children throughout the journey, relieved that they hadn't encountered Elliot along the way.

The road stretched ahead, and their destination seemed far. The children eagerly gazed out of the windows at the unfamiliar but exciting city. Avery couldn't help but hold onto them tightly out of fear.

"Mommy, don't worry. We won't wander off," David noticed Avery's concern and felt guilty about what had transpired earlier.

Daisy looked at her brother, and they shared an unspoken understanding. She chimed in as well, "Mommy, Daisy will help you with the suitcase."

"Good children," Avery replied with a smile, but her mind was preoccupied.

Suddenly, a cry of surprise erupted from the nearby crowd. Avery followed their gaze, and her heart nearly leaped out of her chest at

the sight.

A little boy stood dazed in the middle of the road, cars passing dangerously close to him. The onlookers watched in trepidation, yet none dared to step forward to save him.

"Whose child is that? Where are his parents?" Avery observed the vulnerable child from a distance, feeling an inexplicable ache in her heart. She couldn't understand why she felt such a connection. Turning to her children, she said, "Both of you, watch the suitcase and stay put, okay?"

Just as she finished speaking, a white car whizzed past in front of her, causing Avery to instinctively scream, "Child, be careful!"
