Enemies Always Meet On A Narrow Road

Six years had passed since that fateful day. Avery, now a young and successful doctor, stood at Country W International Airport. The arrivals area bustled with people coming and going, friends and family eagerly awaiting their loved ones. Among the crowd, a few fans gathered, eagerly anticipating the arrival of their idol. The air was filled with excitement and familiar names being called out.

Avery gracefully maneuvered her suitcase, her heels clicking against the ground as she made her way through the crowd. Walking beside her were her twins, a boy and a girl, both around five years old. They possessed striking resemblances to their mother, radiating charm and cuteness.

The boy, dressed in casual attire, had a cool expression on his small face. Meanwhile, his sister, wearing a pink dress with her hair tied up in a ponytail, beamed with a wide smile on her adorable face. The boy noticed something falling from Daisy's belongings and complained in a small voice, urging her to walk more carefully.

Daisy, surprised by the fallen item, turned to her brother with two small pigtails bouncing on her head. She leaned closer and whispered, her voice filled with a sense of grievance, "Thank you, David. Don't tell Mommy, okay? Otherwise, she'll scold me again."

Amused, David snorted and assured her, "When have I ever betrayed you?"

Daisy's smile widened, pleased with her brother's response. "Good, good. Let's make a deal. I'll teach you the flying airplane technique, and you can teach me advanced computer skills."

And so, a deal was struck between the two siblings. Daisy shouldered her bag once again, and they ran after their mother, who was engrossed in a phone call.

Avery, ending her call, turned around at the sound of two voices calling out, "Mommy!" She wasn't surprised; she knew her children were running toward her. However, their delicate and innocent voices melted the hearts of onlookers. All eyes turned toward Avery and the children.

With a warm smile on her face, Avery greeted her little dumplings as they rolled toward her. "Daisy, make sure to take care of your brother," she reminded them.

Daisy's eyes formed a crooked crescent as she replied in her sweet, milky voice, "Mommy, we know. I'll take care of my brother."

David, on the other hand, protested, asserting his role as the older brother. "Mommy, I'm a man. I should take care of my sister."

Standing side by side, the two siblings exchanged playful glances and giggled, resembling mischievous little elves.

Avery observed her adorable children, their presence creating a harmonious and heartwarming atmosphere. Her lips curved into a happy smile, enhancing her beauty and charm. Passersby couldn't help but steal glances at her, captivated by her presence.

However, Avery's cheerful mood quickly faded as she lowered her head, her eyes losing their spark. Thoughts of her youngest son flooded her mind. If circumstances hadn't forced her to give him to Elliot, the child would be with her now. Imagining all three children standing side by side, smiling and full of life, she couldn't help but feel a sense of tension in her heart. What kind of scene would it be? She could only imagine.

Avery hadn't felt at ease during the years she had left her son behind. Despite knowing it was for the best, she couldn't help but feel a profound sense of loss. After all, he was her child. Since the moment she embarked on her journey back to New York, she had been filled with worry and unease, constantly feeling unsettled. After all, if Elliot discovered that she had given birth to triplets and taken away the other two, it would create chaos.

Six years ago, driven by irrationality, she had plotted against Elliot in an attempt to earn his love. Knowing she had made a mess, she didn't dare to stick around. However, after what happened to Daniel, she felt compelled to bring the child to his father. After secretly giving the child to Elliot, she disappeared.

She tricked him into a sexual encounter and ran away without taking responsibility. Then, she returned only to leave a baby in his arms. If Elliot discovered she was back, the man's influence was such that he would likely seek to harm her. She dared not show herself in the city.

However, an emergency had forced her to return, putting her in a vulnerable position. She also worried about Daniel, as she had no way of knowing his situation from overseas. Daniel had a rare Rh-negative blood type, and even with Elliot's resources, she wasn't certain if he could find a suitable match.

If she could successfully find a matching blood type and perform the necessary operation for Daniel, she vowed to find a way to bring him with her, making up for the years of love he had missed. Avery's gaze fixated on her children, her thoughts swirling without uttering a word, leaving the innocent little ones concerned.

"Mummy, what's wrong?" David asked, approaching her with his short stature, barely reaching her knees. He tapped her leg, pulling Avery out of her reverie.

Momentarily confused, she looked at her children before responding, "Let's go."

She took both their hands, dragging her suitcase along as they made their way out of the arrivals area. However, unexpectedly, she crossed paths with him. As she caught a glimpse of the handsome man, her smile froze instantaneously.
