He drove his car and left it not well parked before storming inside the house, carrying the girl from the park and straight up to his room. He left her on the bed and went back out.
“Makayla! Makayla!” He called out on top of his voice.
“What if it was Al-Amin that sent the men…” He left the thought hanging. He thought about blaming Makayla but yet he wanted to find out first before jumping into conclusion.
“Makay...”
“I’m here, what is it?" She stood in front of him in the hallway. He paced about and finally stopped in front of her.
“Oh.” She covered her mouth with her palm to muffle her scream.
“What happened? How? What?” She stuttered. Knox held her shoulders.
“I'm fine, baby.” He smiled. “I'm fine.”
Her eyes widened in surprise. “Baby” she almost smiled. She touched his face and he yelped in pain.
