CHAPTER FOUR

"Start talking, or do you want me to repeat my question?"

"okay fine, I will tell you. So...the thing is that, Rey is my boyfriend and...

"what! what? since when? where is he from? wait! is he cute? handsome? or tall? tell me more about him come on!

Clara was curious to know more about her best friends boyfriend.

"okay, listen to me first, don't interrupt me just let me finish. So, Rey is good looking although he is around my father's age, he isn't boring or anything of that sort. He makes me happy and he is everything I have ever wanted. caring, loving, considerate, talented, and just unique in his own way. He makes me feel so alive and I can't explain the kind of feelings I have towards him" Jesse explained.

Clara was silent for some seconds before responding, "And you think your father will allow his only daughter to be with a man who is the same age as himself? I know they say age is just a number but darling, I think you should be patient and wait a little longer. your man will definitely come. Otherwise this man is not the one. I don't know why I strongly disagree with you being a couple with this man" Clara said.

"it's because of his age, that's why you strongly disagree with him. come on Clara don't be so biased towards this man. you haven't even met him and you already feel off? come one" Jesse defended.

"what about your father Jesse?" Clara asked.

"I am willing to go all out for this man. I can do anything for him so my father just has to get used to seeing me with Rey" Jesse sounded so sure with what she was saying.

"Jesse, I love you and I wouldn't want you to attract problems for yourself. take your time with this man. what if he is only pretending with you and only wants your money? Jesse, I am not asking you to leave this man, I am only asking you to take your time and be careful with him.

On the other side, Rey organized his private chopper and prepared to leave...He felt like this young lady thought of him as a simple man with nothing to show of.

Meanwhile, Jesse and Clara were enjoying a nice treat....They had all kinds of food served to them and a few bottles of wine.

"Jesse, like seriously...you need to heed to my advise atleast. it's for your own good. One step at a time, don't rush anything" Clara spoke in a resolute tone.

The two ladies ate, drunk and had a good time when all of the sudden, the door was pushed open from the outside.

Clara and Jesse simultaneously looked at the door that was pushed open.

Rey slowly walked in with a few steps then stopped and looked at the two women who were now in shock.

"huh, you! Jesse exclaimed

"who in the world are you? don't you know how to knock? with your age sir please have some dignity and...uhm uhmmm

"Jesse quickly covered Clara's mouth to avoid her from saying more than she already did.

"Rey, what are you doing here? are u not suppose to be back in town? how did you get here in such a short period of time? this place is really far and they are no flights that come here so how did you get here?" Jesse had so many questions as she didn't understand what this man was doing in front of her and how he got to where she was in such a short period of time.

Rey cleared his throat, "well, ma'am, are you done asking your questions or you have more questions to ask?"

Jesse quickly removed her hand from Clara's mouth and focused on Rey.

"go on, talk to me. firstly, how did you get here in such a short period of time?" Jesse questioned Rey and kept silent to wait for his answer.

Clara also turned to look at the man in front of her, waiting to hear what he would say.

"well, I just got my chopper ready and it got me here" Rey responded.

Clara and Jesse both dropped their Jaws, "you have a chopper?" Jesse asked in shock. She thought he was a simple man, while Clara on the other hand thought Rey was after Jesse's money and that's it.

"yes, I have a chopper. Anyways,Will you introduce me to your friend?"

"oh, I am sorry...this is Clara my best friend but well, we have come a long way and we are more like sister's" Jesse responded.

Rey stretched out his hand to greet Clara who rolled her eyes and ignored the hand shake from Rey.

"Clara please don't do this come on" Jesse pleaded.

"well Mr, are you blind or you are just pretending not to see that Jesse is old enough to be your daughter? who knows, maybe she is even younger than your children. what do you want from her?"

Jesse felt embarrassed, she never thought Clara would give Rey such an approach.

Rey smiled, "well, actually anyone would ask that question. The reason is simple, I don't think I need to explain much or say more than I should. I love Jesse and that's it. If that's not reason enough to make you believe me then well, hard luck. I love Jesse and there's nothing or no one who can say otherwise. As long as she loves me, that's more than enough for me" Rey said this then comfortably sat on the couch without a care.

Clara with her arms folded looked at Rey angrily...she felt so angered that she stood up and prepared to leave.

"hey, Clara please don't leave! what is wrong with you? come back!

"I will book for another room, I can't stand that man! Clara yelled as she walked away.

Jesse sighed helplessly, she turned and looked at the man seated on the couch. she didn't know what was next.
