Slamming the journal shut, Amira glanced at the door after Beta Baltir announced Zayyan’s arrival at the palace through a mind link. Her mind still spun with the information she just learned from the journal. It had everything, every little detail about what happened.

The later entries revealed the King’s regret and his attempts to find Amira to give her the life that was taken away from her.
