Chapter 6

Esmee laughed softly. "My mother. I promised not to sell this restaurant."

Instantly William fell silent after he heard Esmee's reasons for not wanting to sell her restaurant. Meanwhile, Esmee returned to William.

"This restaurant is very precious to me because it is my family's heritage. I spent half my life in this restaurant. You could say, this restaurant is like part of my family. How can I sell my own family?" Esmee asked William again.

William fell silent again and digested Esmee's answer. He actually had a lot of things he wanted to ask Esmee.

However, Esmee's answer about the reason he didn't sell his restaurant made William's tongue feel so numb that he couldn't ask anything else.

Esmee suddenly tapped William on the shoulder. "You don't need to think about it too much. What's clear is that I don't plan to give up this restaurant to anyone. Don't worry. You can work here as long as you want. I will continue to maintain this place."

Esmee then tidied up the rest of their breakfast containers. She then brought the dirty bowl and plate to the kitchen.

William watched Esmee's back as she walked towards the kitchen. He muttered in his heart. "Why do I suddenly feel like a bad person?"

William then chuckled softly. He then immediately took out his cellphone and told Charles to carry out the plan he had planned last night.

"After all, I have to seize this restaurant so I can get the right to my inheritance," said William firmly.

Just before lunchtime, Charles went to D'Amelie's restaurant as previously planned. As soon as he stepped into the restaurant he was immediately greeted by a female waitress who smiled kindly at him.

"For how many people?"

"I myself" replied Charles.

"Please."

Charles then walked following the Maids who greeted him.

The waitress led him to an empty table by the window. After Charles sat down in his seat, the waiter immediately gave the menu book to Charles.

"Do you want to order directly or want to see the menu first?"

Charles opened the menu book given to him while talking to the waiter. "I'll see the menu list first."

'Okay. You can call me directly if you want to order food."

Charles nodded his head. "By the way, can I take a picture of the inside of this restaurant?"

The maid serving Charles nodded his head. "Of course. There are no restrictions on taking pictures here."

"Thank you," said Charles.

The maid nodded again slowly. He then immediately left the table Charles. As soon as the maid left, Charles immediately took out his cell phone and texted William.

"I am already at the restaurant."

Not long after Charles sent the message, William replied to his message. "Do your job well. I'm cleaning the vegetables."

Charles swallowed his laughter after reading the reply message from William. As long as he worked for William, he never once saw William doing domestic work. William doesn't even have to bother cooking because there is a private chef who always serves him.

"He seems to be quite enjoying his new job," muttered Charles, holding back his laughter.

Charles then immediately photographed the inside of the restaurant. He took photos of several corners of the restaurant which looked very beautiful and classic. After finishing taking photos, Charles returned to call the waiter and immediately ordered food.

"I'm going home! Dont forget to lock your door, Esmee!

Marie before she left the restaurant after the operating hours ended.

"Take it easy Be careful on the road,' Esmee said and a waitress working in her restaurant.

Both smiled at Esmee and then they left the D'Am restaurant. After the two left, Esmee returned to th to check that she had turned off all the stoves and

"Why are you still here?" asked Esmee when she saw William still in the kitchen.

William was sitting on a small chair in the kitchen w leaning his body against the wall. "Looks like the restaurant is a bit busier today than yesterday."

Esmee took a deep breath while nodding her head. 'l thinking of closing the restaurant early. But just a lot of people came."

Esmee then looked at William. 'Are you tired?

"A little," William replied.

'Have a little rest before going home. If you want, you some cold beer that's in the fridge," Esmee said.

"Isn't that for sale?

"I'll put it on your bill later. I'll calculate everything before payday You'll pay it with your salary later," Esmee replied

William laughed softly. "Okay then. I think I need refreshing:

William then stood up from his seat and walked out of th kitchen. Esmee just laughed softly seeing William coming out of the kitchen. He then checked the stove in the kitching as well as the back door to make sure no rodents had snuck into the restaurant.

After confirming everything, Esmee immediately came out the kitchen. Esmee immediately walked to the stairs to go to her room which was on the top floor.

William, who was sitting alone in the restaurant, was silent when he saw Esmee go upstairs. He then drank a bottle of cold beer he had just taken and returned to silence while observing the atmosphere in the restaurant.

He felt his life slowing down a little after two days of arriving in Riquewihr. There were no impromptu meetings, meetings with business associates, women clinging like ants to him, and no party frenzy like in Manhattan. The quiet atmosphere in Riquewihr made William feel a little out of place.

While William was silent while enjoying a bottle of beer, his cell phone suddenly rang. He immediately answered. William immediately took a deep breath as soon as he heard his father's voice on the other side of the phone.

"I've only been here two days, and you've contacted me.

"You've never contacted me so quickly Old Man" said William.

"Have you made the restaurant owner sell his restaurant?" he asked.

William took another deep breath. "•once I get it Ill definitely contact you right away.'

William then immediately turned off his telephone connection with his father. He snorted and took another sip of his beer. After his beer finished, William immediately stood up from his seat. He stepped onto the stairs.

"Esmee! home!" shouted William from the bottom of the stairs.

"yes! Be careful on the road, William!' said Esmee from the top room

William chuckled softly and immediately stepped out of the restaurant. He also left a five-euro bill in the cash register drawer.

Not long after William left his restaurant, Esmee immediately came down from her room and left her restaurant. She will start working part time at a club in the center of Riquewihr.

Esmee took out her bicycle which she kept behind the restaurant After that she pedaled the bicycle to mediately arrive at the club. Esmee didn't want to start her day on such a bad note because she was late.
