DELILAH I'm startled from my peaceful dream in which I was floating around a pool on my flamingo raft while Liam fed me grapes, by a loud noise in the front room. I sit up quickly prying Liam's arms from around my waist and look around to gather my surroundings. LIAM We've been at Delilah's photo shoot for five whole minutes and I'm already getting really weird vibes from one of the producers. The aquarium is like nothing I've ever seen before. The entire place is oozing decadence, marble floors, enormous enclosures, and a huge spread of food for the models and production team today. Tessa is talking with one of the photographers with Dels, while Tyler and I check out the food spread. Today's shoot is going to be for a fundraiser to raise money to protect a coral reef that's nearby. DELILAH Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and we just got back home to South Carolina. The paparazzi seems to be following us everywhere these days, the rumor mill going crazy with speculations about us being back together. We haven't confirmed or denied anything for them this time around. Truthfully we haven't even talked about it with each other yet. I know what Liam wants, but I'm afraid to dive back in like we did before. It seems reckless since I've already been burned twice by him, even if the second time was to protect me. So when we pull into the house that we bought together before all of this mess it's only natural that I'm a nervous wreck. Liam is grinning like the Cheshire Cat. Completely thrilled as he hops out of the car and grabs our luggage. I pause outside the front door. "Are you sure we're ready for this?" I ask sincerely. "I can stay at my dads for a while. DELILAH I spent most of the night tossing and turning in my bed. Alone. True to his word, Liam stayed in the guest room last night. I wonder if he slept okay without me? I almost broke down and went to his bed several times, but I didn't want to wake him, or at least that's what I told myself. I glance at my phone to see that it's already 10 AM. I can't believe it's already that late. I should get up and get dressed, our parents, Tessa, Tyler, and their parents will all be here to eat and exchange gifts in a few hours. Liam told me he had everything under control and not to worry about it last night, but I should help him out anyway. I quickly scurry into our bathroom and take a quick shower. I've always been fairly low maintenance but seeing the dark circles under my eyes from deciding to sleep solo last night causes me to spend more time than usual on my makeup. DELILAH Not long after the oven timer goes off to let Liam know that his masterpiece is finished, the doorbell rings and I go to let our friends and family inside. This is the first time we've had people over to see our new home and it feels so strange to see them all here. "Merry Christmas guys!" I chirp as they file in, hands full of gifts and food. "Merry Christmas baby girl." My dad replies giving me a side hug with his arms full. "I brought a few things." He chuckles walking into the kitchen and placing the containers of food on the table. He then walks to where Liam is manning the stove and claps him on the shoulder. "Merry Christmas son. It smells delicious. Did you cook all this up by yourself?" He questions, his voice full of surprise. "You know it." Liam replies grinning widely. He's proud of the meal he's created. "I hope it tastes as good as it looks." LIAM We're standing just outside the party house and I can hear the music thumping inside from here. I couldn't go inside without talking to Dels about where we stand first. I know she's still considering that maybe we shouldn't stay together. But I feel like we've been making steady progress over the past week or so and I know how quickly things can go south at these parties. Especially when it comes to us. People are still thinking that we split up and I don't want something dumb happening to set us back. Delilah Jane is end game for me. DELILAH Somehow it never gets easier meeting girls Liam has hooked up with. When Hannah walked over to us shamelessly flirting with him while pushing her boobs up into his view, it was hard not to feel jealous and self conscious.
