Chapter 7 I Will Never Let the Child Be Born

With an expressionless face, Henry glanced between Gabriella and Imogen.

"You are both directors, and yet you are fighting in front of the employees. Is this how you set an example? What do you take the company for?"

His voice was cold.

Upon hearing that, the employees immediately resumed their work. They only dared to steal glances from time to time.

"Mr. Henry, I was doing my job properly. It was Ms. Carrington who suddenly came over and made a scene. She even slapped me without understanding the situation.

"How can someone like her be the brand director?" Imogen defended herself.

Henry looked at Gabriella and said frostily, "Apologize."

Gabriella took a deep breath and clenched her fists tightly.

"I'll apologize once Ms. Tarth apologizes to me first."

She knew she was in the wrong for hitting someone while in the company, but she did not regret it. She was willing to bear the consequences.

However, she wanted Imogen to apologize to her too.

Imogen turned to Henry with an aggrieved expression.

"Mr. Henry, I don't know what I did wrong ..."

Just as Gabriella was about to retort, Henry interrupted, "Apologize!"

Gabriella looked at him in disbelief.

When she saw how cold his expression was, she felt her eyes reddening.

He did not even bother to ask what had happened.

Henry's Adam's apple bobbed. "I said, apologize."

Gabriella dug her nails into her palms to suppress her trembling.

She glared resentfully at Imogen and spat out through gritted teeth, "Sorry, Ms. Tarth."

Imogen smiled smugly. "There won't be a next time, Ms. Carrington."

"But don't you think you should explain why you replaced the brand ambassador, Ms. Tarth?" Gabriella asked.

Imogen smiled and looked at Henry. "Certainly. It was Mr. Henry who instructed me to do so."

Stunned, Gabriella looked at Henry in shock.

Henry did not deny it.

He turned around and strode away while saying, "Come to my office, Ms. Carrington."

Gabriella eyed Imogen coldly before following him.

"Mr. Henry, why did you replace Emma?" Gabriella asked upon entering the CEO's office.

Henry sat at his desk and spared her an indifferent glance.

"What do you think about the divorce agreement?"

He did not answer her question.

Gabriella froze for a moment before responding, "I've been quite busy recently, so I haven't had the time to look at it yet. Since you're in such a rush, I'll read it tonight."

He fixed his eyes intently on her and replied, "Okay."

When Gabriella heard his resolute tone of voice, the bitterness in her heart intensified.

"If, and I'm only saying if, I'm pregnant, will you still insist on getting a divorce?"

"There's no if. Even if you happen to conceive my child, I'll never let the child be born."

"Got it," Gabriella replied at once. She wanted nothing more than to settle the matter and leave his office immediately.

"Mr. Henry, didn't you approve the project? Why did you replace Emma with someone else?"

A CEO like him did not need to get involved with such a trivial matter.

"I have my reasons."

"I've been in charge of MQ since it was founded. You have never interfered with its development before.

"Don't you think you should have discussed it with me first before replacing the brand ambassador, Mr. Henry?"

With a single word from him, he could easily change the brand ambassador.

However, Henry was unaware of the multitude of changes Gabriella would have to deal with as a result of what he did.

Not only did Gabriella have to pacify Emma's team, but she also had to revise advertising plans and rearrange the photo shoots to accommodate everyone's schedules.

Furthermore, adjustments were necessary for the brand direction and promotional plans as well.

Henry leaned back in his chair and crossed his legs. "I've replaced her with Hannah."

Upon hearing that, Gabriella's mind instantly went blank. It took her a moment to regain her composure and repeat, "Hannah?"

"Yes." Henry tapped his fingers on the desk. "Hannah is planning to build up her career in the country, so she needs this brand endorsement to make a strong start."

Gabriella took a deep breath. She was overwhelmed by the intense heartache she felt.
