Thaddeus's face was hidden in the shadows, veiling his emotions.

“It’s late. Get some rest, Mr. Fontaine.”

Mona did not want to linger. She walked past the man and avoided his gaze.

Thaddeus, however, stopped her as soon as she took her first step, causing her to bump into his chest.
