Chapter fifteen

HAILEY

I received a call from my father telling me to come home for dinner. Since I got married to Carter, I hadn't neared home.

As much as I wanted to refuse, I couldn't. He was my Alpha and father after all.

I readied myself and without letting Carter know, I left for Deepwater pack. I'd give the world to avoid seeing either Tristan or Maya but I knew that was impossible. I couldn't avoid them entirely.

When I got in the house, dinner was already served and they all sat watching me.

"I'm sorry for being late" I apologized to my father, ignoring the rest because he was the only one that mattered.

"Sit" He simply said and continued eating.

I did as he instructed and immediately, the maids served me dinner.

"How have you been, Hailey?" I heard Maya's shrill voice say, "you've been away from home for some time now."

Without sparing her a glance, I said, "do not talk while eating. It's a bad habit"

That did the job in shutting her up, at least for the main time.
