Father's Will

"No, Dad. I don't want to!" Dion's chest rose and fell. His eyes stared intently at the man who was lying weakly on a typical hospital bed.

"But, Dion. Savira is a good girl, I want you to marry her," Purnawan said softly. His voice was low and almost inaudible.

"How can there be a good woman who has a relationship with a married man? I will never marry Daddy's mistress!" Dion said then walked away leaving Purnawan.

After Dion left, Purnawan rubbed his tight chest. Dion's words broke the sixty-year-old man's heart.

"You are always busy with your world, Dion. If you only knew how daddy is feeling right now," Purnawan said softly.

The fat man was silent as he stared at the white ceiling of the room. Purnawan is a well-known palm oil entrepreneur throughout the country. He was lying helpless because of the complications he had suffered for the past two years.

The body pain is incomparable to the feeling of loneliness that accompanies Purnawan. The child he hopes to be a color in his life is busy with his world. He never even considered Purnawan's existence.

The sound of a phone call woke Dion from a deep sleep. The athletic-built man picked up the cell phone that was lying not far from his pillow. Annoyed, he pulled the phone up.

"Dion, please go to the hospital now! Mr. Purnawan is critical," said Hendra, Purnawan's confidant.

A smile appeared on the man's face.

"Finally you die too, a man like you deserves to be in hell!" Dion said in his heart.

"Okay, I'll be right there."

Dion's sports car drove at a moderate speed. He didn't want to rush to the hospital. For him, Punawan's death is a hope that will soon come true.

After thirty minutes, Dion's four-wheeled vehicle stopped right in the hospital yard. He quickly ran to the ICU room.

"How's daddy doing?" he asked as he caught his breath.

"Sir could not be saved. He died five minutes ago," said Hendra with tears in his eyes.

"Daddy!" shouted Dion. His face started to cloud up. His athletic body fell at the door of the ICU room.

"Give me sir, Dion." Hendra rubbed his shoulder.

"Daddy, Hen... Daddy." Dion started to sob. The feeling of losing him made Hendra feel sorry.

"Mr. Purnawan's family?" asked a nurse.

"We are his family, Miss," answered Hendra.

"Please take care of the administration immediately."

"Okay, Miss."

"Sorry, Dion. I have to take care of administration first," he said then left Dion in front of the ICU room alone.

After Hendra left, Dion immediately wiped away the traces of tears that had stuck to his cheeks.

"Finally you die too. Now all the wealth that you have will fall into my hands." Dion smiled when he imagined Purnawan's treasure that would pass into his hands.

The man turned out to be good at acting. In public, he looks lost but behind his back, he laughs triumphantly.

"Tell me the contents of Daddy will!" Dion said as he stared intently at Ridwan.

"But it hasn't been forty days yet, Sir."

"Whether now or tomorrow it's the same. Read right now the contents of my ex-husband's will."

"B-but madam."

Hendra shook his head seeing the attitude of Dion and Regina. Both people are like chameleons, the twinkling of an eye can change attitudes and behavior.

"It turns out that what Mr. Purnawan said was true, they are good at acting," said Hendra, but only in his heart.

"What's so difficult reading Purnawan's will? We have the right to know!" Regina snapped.

"How is it, Sir?" Ridwan asked, glancing at Hendra. The man knew that Hendra was Purnawan's confidant when he was still alive until now.

"Just say it, sir," said Hendra.

With a bit of hesitation, Ridwan took out a piece of paper containing Purnawan's will before he died.

"All of Daddy's treasure will fall into my hands, right?" Dion asked with a meaningful smile.

"All of Mr. Purnawan's property and assets will fall into the hands of Mas Dion...."

"That's right, Mom. All of this will be ours," said Dion.

"Mommy is sure, this treasure can't fall into the hands of other people. You are the only child of Purnawan, and only you have the right to that!" Regina said with a triumphant smile.

"I'm not done yet, there's more to come."

"Quickly say, what's next."

"All of Mr. Purnawan's property and assets will fall into the hands of Mas Dion after Mas Dion marries Savira."

"What!" Dion and Regina shouted at the same time.

"I don't want to marry Daddy's mistress. I don't want to!"

"Don't make it up, Ridwan! Purnawan can't let his biological son down!"

Regina shouted. The woman in black clothes stood up and stared intently at Ridwan and Hendra. She was sure that the will that Ridwan read was fake.

"Tell me where the real will is!"

Ridwan exhaled harshly. He knew this would happen. However, he never imagined that he would be accused of hiding Mr. Purnawan's will.

"This is the original letter, Mrs. Regina. It has Mr. Purnawan's signature." Ridwan showed him a piece of paper containing Mr. Purnawan's handwriting before he died.

"I'm sure this is fake, you guys must be working together to control my husband's treasure, right!" accused Regina with bulging eyes.

"This letter is legal in the eyes of the law!" Ridwan replied annoyed.

"No... It's impossible," Regina said as she dropped her body on the sofa. Occasionally his hands massage the head which feels increasingly spinning.

"One more thing, Dion must marry Savira within one month after reading the will. Otherwise, all of Mr. Purnawan's assets and assets will be donated to orphanages, charitable foundations, and nursing homes."

"What!"

Instantly Regina fell unconscious on the couch.

Dion and Regina sat limply on the sofa. A few minutes ago Hendra and Ridwan had left Purnawan's residence. Regina's distrust made the lawyer of the late Purnawan inflamed. In the end, they chose to leave.

Quiet and silent, the luxurious house that Purnawan used to live in alone felt uninhabited. There's no joint prayer, Dion and Regina were too busy taking care of the will that she forgot to hold the event. It's too late to pretend Forget. After all, Purnawan's death was a dream for both of them. Then why hold prayer if in their hearts they laugh happily?

"How about this, Mom? I don't want to marry Daddy's mistress!" Dion said while massaging his throbbing head.

"Can't you keep quiet? Mom's head is about to explode! That old man is too much. Life is hard to die, it only adds to the suffering!" Regina scolded.

"Dion thought he would become a wealthy businessman. But in fact, destruction was in sight. Dion can't afford to live in poverty, Mom. What if Julia finds out I don't have anything? She will leave me."

Dion and Regina kept arguing. Dion's dream to be a rich man has gone. Now only the shadow of poverty haunts me.
