Chapter 3

Alpha Asher …

I rushed to her when I noticed that she was passing out again, this is the second time and I won't say that I'm less haunted about it.

Before she reached the ground, I grabbed her to myself that she placed her head on my chest, but she already passed out.

Her eyes were shut tightly, and I could hear the fast beat of her heart.

I lifted her up and moved to my bed, then laid her on it. Since I already lost my appetite, there wasn't a need for going back to eat. Rather, I moved into the bathroom and returned with a bucket of cold water and a little towel.

Gradually, I placed it on her forehead. My gaze focused on her, while I shifted her long dark hair to the side.

I couldn't get my eyes off her, since her beauty was charming. I'd say that this is just me taking a good look at her for the first time, she was exceptionally beautiful.

But the bitter part of it is that I'll never fall for it, she's nothing but a tool to me, and so I have nothing to do with her.

She wasn't moving a bit, and it made me curious to be sure she's breathing. When I placed my ear on her chest, I was able to hear her fast heart beat again.

"I'll need to summon the healer, at least you should be alive and healthy until you give me a child." I murmured and stood up from the bed, I rang the gong in my room and the guard around came in.

"Your majesty…."

"Summon the healer, I want her here now." I laid my order and he left.

I had to freshen up before the healer arrived, then she sat on a chair beside the bed and began her treatments on her.

"She's absolutely okay, just a flip of the heart which might result in her not waking up on time." The healer explained to me.

I nodded as she mixed up a herbal drink for her.

"She should be taking it twice daily when she awakes. Her wolf is wounded and weak, the herb will help them both."

I felt my mind at ease as I watched the healer leave the room. There wasn't a need to take her to her room until she's awake, I'll have to keep my eyes on her.

The next day…

While I was getting dressed to leave for my chamber, since I had a lot of things to discuss with my Beta, I heard a loud yawn that grew my eyes wide.

I swirled my neck to the bed to see Reyna awake but was still weak to get up from the bed. She rolled to the other side of the bed and yawned the second time.

She must be very hungry, since I've already ordered the maid to get my breakfast, I didn't have to worry that much.

I still stood opposite the mirror, taking a good look at myself when she mentioned my name.

How dare she mention my name that way? I wonder what gives her the guts to misbehave before me and I still tolerate her.

This is not me to others, I'm that king feared by all. But a common omega like her doesn't care.

"For how long have I been sleeping?" She asked after several seconds of silence.

I took a glance at her. "A day, and I'm sure you met your ancestors there."

"Ancestors my foot." She slammed angrily and fell to the bed again. "Why can't you just go to your room and dress up? Must you showcase yourself for me here?"

Those questions got me thinking about who she was referring to. I just hope she wasn't going crazy.

"I should remind you to leave since you've woken up." I replied to her.

This time, I turned to see her staring around. She must be shocked at the last.

"Then…why….why didn't you take me to my room when I passed out? I wonder where you got that horrible news." She shrieked at me and climbed down from the bed.

From the look of things, she could recall everything that took place before she collapsed. Thanks to the moon goddess she didn't lose her senses.

"At least you have to be grateful that I cared for you all these while."

I was expecting her to snap at me again, but she stood still watching me.

"Don't tell me you're leaving? I won't let you step out of this room so long as I'm here." She retorted, but I only chuckled.

This girl is so annoying.

I pointed at the herb that was prepared for her. "You have to take it for the effectiveness of you and your wolf."

"At least I'll get the strength to escape." She cut in.

I nodded. "Getting you back here is like a piece of cake, but you shouldn't worsen things for yourself."

She shrugged her shoulders and moved to the door, drew it open only for the maid to walk in with the food.

The aroma of the food filled the room.

I could hear the cry of her hungry stomach, but the look on her face revealed how confused she was about whether to eat or not.

"Whether you're escaping or meeting your ancestors, you should eat something in order to get enough strength." I preached to her, but she looked off. "And you can't take the herb with an empty stomach. If not now, you won't eat again till afternoon." I smiled at her. "Trust me that you'll pass out again if you starve, and no one will take care of you."

My words convinced her that she walked slowly to the dinning and got seated, then I dished the food for her myself.

It didn't take me long to finish mine and I left the room, less concerned with her glares. But I had promised myself to come and see him before leaving with my Beta.

After several minutes of discussing with him on how things will go, I decided to check on her only for me to meet what I never expected.

Kayla was standing before her who was dripping water, and I could see a little part of porridge on her cloth and skin alongside with stain.

I was fumed in anger that I gripped Kayla by her neck, I don't care if she's my lover…but she has no right to torture her.

"Don't misunderstand me, I was only trying to convince her so she will abide by your word, but she began cursing me." Kayla stated, when I asked her nothing.

I was so enraged that I could do something stupid to her at the moment.

She was struggling to get off my hand but couldn't.

"Who gave you that guts?" Was the only question I was able to ask her, followed by the sound of a fall.

I turned to see Reyna on the floor, and she had landed with her head after being slipped away by the porridge on the floor.

I pushed Kayla away and rushed to her, but she was already bleeding.

Anger filled me, I threw heavy glares at Kayla longing to tear her down.
